2007 Volkswagen Passat Wagon 2.0T. While driving 35 mph, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle then lost power and rolled to a stop. The vehicle has approximately 79,575 miles on it. The dealer stated that the right cam chain broke. The dealer then used a light bulb analogy claiming that a cam chain could break at anytime. I wouldn't expect that a light bulb would cost $4000.00 to replace. This is just bad engineering. Buyer beware this type vehicle has problems that VW refuses to acknowledge by recall. More of the same poor quality like years previous.
