2000 MERCEDES BENZ ML430 User Comment / Complaint

2000 mercedes benz ml430 hose clamp came off and there was no power steering fluid in the pump resulting in the steering becoming stiff.** answer required***. the power steering hose and clamp were replaced under recall the power steering rack also leaked and needed to be replaced. the consumer feels that the rack failed as a result of the clamp failure and believes it should have been replaced free of charge.

The same thing happened to me. The power steering pump leaked after the hose went bad. Mercedes would not replace the pump for free even though it was obvious that the cause was the faulty hose. Cost me $500 bucks. I was not happy. I will say that Mercedes here in Cincinnati will do their best to make you happy. Some things they are unable to do.
