2003 ACURA 3.2TL User Comment / Complaint

My 2003 Acura TL-S needs a transmission at 68,000 miles. It is a known defect in these vehicles yet Acura has chosen to brush me off for the past 3 weeks. Finally, today they offered to repair it at an expense of $1650 to me. How is this fair? I have spent too much money on this luxury car to not have the backing of a company such as Acura. While traveling on the highway, the car acted like the brakes came on and jerked. Scared me to death. Could have caused a major accident.Is there any kind of recourse available?
