2002 FORD ESCAPE User Comment / Complaint

I left the 2002 ford escape in parking lot came out smell electrical burn. Didn't think anything of it. Started driving than plooms of smoke came from the engine compartment. Pulled over found the abs unit on fire! Found and extinguisher in a local business and attempted to put the fire out. The fire fire would not go out. The fire department arrived cut the battery cables and it stopped! My insurance company is already telling me if Ford doesn't cover the mechanical failure they won't either! I have noticed multiple complaints on consumer affairs and other sites. These sights explain that the repairs are done and the car still catches on fire a little while later. The ironic thing is that the car has been checked once before! What do I do?
