2002 JAGUAR XK8 User Comment / Complaint

This is a known problem with the XK8 hydraulic lines. I was cleaning my 2002 XK8, and when I went to put the top back up, the hydraulic line burst, spraying fluid from the upper window control panel all over me and the car that I had just cleaned and polished. Putnam Jaguar in Pasadena wanted to charge me $1800 to fix it even though the car was still in warranty. Absolutely crooked practice and THE most difficult repair shop to deal with in my experience.

Convertible top was moving very slowly while opening. next one of the hydralic lines from convertible top broke off and sprayed fluid all over passengers. consumer feels this is very dangerous. please provide any further information.  view
