1998 CHEVROLET CORVETTE User Comment / Complaint

My 1998 Corvette slowed to about 5 mph and the check engine light, check gauges, abs warning all came on at the same time. I got the car out of traffic and shut the engine down. I waited for about 10 minutes and everything seemed ok. However, it happened again a couple of days later. I've had new brakes installed all around and can't figure out what is going on with the electrical warnings. My center console temperature light comes on sometimes and then goes out after a few minutes. I'm fearful of taking the car to the dealer due to the high cost involved. Can you give me some sort of idea what is happening. I'm losing confidence in taking the car out due to the above mentioned incidences. Please help...
