1991 CHEVROLET CAPRICE User Comment / Complaint

Just got this car, had to have all the brake lines replaced and the calipers replaced. ABS indicator light stays on, and the brakes still seem sluggish to me. Does this model simply need a harder push on the pedals for the brakes to activate or is there more I need to fix??? I don't want to replace more parts only to find the brakes will always work this way no matter what, you know?
