Yeah mine does the same too. It is really frustrating. in the 04 ion's they decided to make than less able to be stolen (bad past record) and so the grease in the ignition gets too cold in the winter and wont recognize your key, in turn shutting off your fuel pump. So all you have to do is wait 15 minutes and then try starting it again. It should fire up. Be sure to warm the key up really well, and leave 15 minutes before you would normally. Very inconvenient, I tell ya. Hope this is useful to you. =) ~NikiRose

When the weather reaches freezing and car has been left off for about 6 to 8 hours it will not start again. i had the problem two years ago and saturn replaced the starter on the car and now the problem is back again this winter. i have checked several sites and this appears to be a big problem that should be address. replacing the starter every other winter is not an acceptable solution.  view
