2000 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT User Comment / Complaint

I had it a similar problems with may 2000 vw passat 1.8t, ABS lights on the dash board, I brought the car to a dealership who said their computer couldn't communicate with the control module and it need it to be re-build I agreed and it cost me $1,100 , the fix it, the next day I had it to bring it back because the ETC light came on and the engine lost all its power, they said that maybe the battery because been old (never gave me problems), short cut the module box which cost $1,600, I think all this module boxes has serious problems... I don't think the agencies protecting our safety on the road are doing nothing to look in to this.
