Our 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited 5.7L Hemi, QuandraDrive II was completely destroyed by fire yesterday. Was in at least 10 times for transmission problems. In twice in the last 6 weeks for transmission problems. Police witness was directly behind car when it ignited. He said he saw transmission fluid leaking onto the exhaust and thats what started it. Car had less than 38,000 miles and this was the second transmission put into the car. The original trans went out after just 7,000 miles. I own 4 other cars, never had a transmission problem before this Jeep. Stay away from Jeeps because they are very dangerous. Police witness stated the fire started small but grew incredibly quickly and into the passenger compartment in less than 90 seconds.
