Tl contact owns a 2003 kia optima. the contact stated that the vehicle randomly fails to start. when he turns the key in the ignition, it feels as if the vehicle does not have fuel. the contact has to make three to four attempts just to get the vehicle to start. the vehicle fails in both cold and warm weather and has occurred eight times within the past thirty days. the vehicle will eventually start after approximately five to ten minutes. the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. the vehicle has been in the shop for days and no cause of failure has been determined. the current mileage is 58,400 and failure mileage was 57,000.

2004 Kia Optima(manual trans)purchased in Ft Myers FL in NOV2004.Beginning Dec06 Ive had several instances of failure to start.It seems like a battery problem, however, all auxilary components will turn on in ON position. 1st time it happened, I waited 5 min and it started on the 1st try.The next time, I discovered that if I turn everything off and push HARD on the clutch as far as it will go, it will start on the 2nd try.I didnt try to contact the dealer about this problem.I thought that maybe the clutch needed adjusted (it does the same as it would do if the clutch were not depressed).Ive also had difficulty with my lights.In the past 6 months,Ive replaced the left headlight 4 times and the right one 3times.In July07 all of my brake lights went out at the same time.I pulled the panel off in the trunk, and when I turned the cover to remove it, the lights worked.this also sometimes fixes the rt headlight (not the left).2 nights ago, both headlights
