Tl contact owns a 2006 jeep commander. while driving 15 mph or greater, the vehicle stalled without warning, which resulted in a total loss of power. the contact stated that the vehicle would restart on its own within a few seconds. the dealer stated that the sensors failed (sensor type unknown). the contact was uncertain if the sensors were replaced. approximately two weeks later, the failure recurred. the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. as of november 8, 2007, the dealer had not completed the inspection. there is a defect investigation open (nhtsa action number ea07007) for the engine and engine cooling. the failure mileage was 35,000 and current mileage was 38,000.

My 2007 Jeep Commander has had 10 shut offs while driving 20 to 60 mph. Total loss of power and steering. I have taken it in to the dealer and they have no solution. I am going to discontinue driving it due to the extreme hazard and work with jeep to exchange. It is unsafe. I drive offroad and in remote areas and this is completely unacceptable.  view
