2002 DODGE CARAVAN User Comment / Complaint

I purchased a 2002 dodge caravan in december 2006. the airbag light was illuminated. i twice had to bring it in to get it fixed and was told that the seat belt tensioner was defective, and then that the tensioner was loose. the light came back on several months later and was told there was a short in the wiring harness which had to be replaced. is this a manufacturing defect?

(Trying this again) I just saw your post. I have an 05 Grand Caravan with the same problem. Unfortunately NOT covered by the extended warranty I purchased, and am told by the dealer this will cost me abt $550 to repair! I haven't checked elsewhere, but the dealer gave no indication this was a mfg. flaw, although the warranty co. said "this is a known problem"? Did you get any satisfaction from your dealer or warranty or did you have to pay in full for the repair yourself?
