1992 OLDSMOBILE TORONADO User Comment / Complaint

Abs brake failure, when brakes are applied vehicle pulls to the right, and when coming to a stop, brakes lock up/jerks the vehicle, causing a loss of control.  view

Not on my vehicle, but notice on other vehicles, particularly newer model cadillac's, that the led taillights result in a strobing after-effect image when i am driving or riding in a car and one of these types of taillights comes into my field of vision. it is very uncomfortable as well as distracting as it briefly (2-3 seconds) interferes with my vision. i am aware of this happening to other people as well (both family members as well as other complaints found online). this does not occur for me with "regular" incandescent or halogen type bulbs. i do not have any eye conditions or visual problems other than wearing regular eyeglasses.  view

My front seat belts in my car no longer retract. they won't tighten up against me and probably wouldn't hold me too well if i was in an accident. the car is a 94 mitsubishi 3000gt vr-4.  view

I was traveling at a speed of about 45 mph. the driver's side curtain airbag, driver's seat airbag, and driver's seatbelt spontaneously deployed. there is no apparent reason for this.  view

Pulling out of driveway, heard snap, followed by a rush of air and drop of vehicle. inspected tire and which was resting on the rim, attempted to change tire and discovered that spring was protruding thought back of tire and i could not remove. consequences scare me had i been traveling at any rate of speed i would not be here today. repair shop informed me that they see this frequently with the mercury sable cars. new tire, coil spring and labor concluded a bill of $331.68. lincoln mercury dealership would not do anything but advise to contact ford, ford car was no longer under warranty and they had no complaints for this years model. however 2001 and prior they had recalls for this very problem and provided the sables with a protective spring shield. driving this car and others who drive this car are dealing with a major safety hazard that has a history with this manufacture.  view

I have mercedes c230 2002, with oem michelin mxv4 plus 205/55 r16. one tire was blown and replaced 3 years ago. now all tires develop huge cracks on the edge of tread and sidewall as well as inside of tread. tires are in between 5/32nd and 7/32nd tread with 40k miles, and would be good to go for another 2 years easily. but, according to mercedes and michelin dealers (les schwab) tires unsafe to drive! i called michelin 866-866-6605 november 03-07, after 30 min conversation with les schwab manager involved, michelin admit manufacturing defect, and offered 45% off new tires purchase. here is what michelin offer actually means: 1) 45% discount apply only to michelin and same mxv4 plus is $205/ea and it means $820 x0.55 = $451 to pay. 2) i must pay dismount + mount + balance + disposal fees, which is $20 per tire x4 = $80, so total out of my pocket becomes $531 +tax!  view

2002 mercedes benz s500 sport. after vehicle was shut off a very load growl came from under the hood on the right side. it was apparently the air compressor and it wouldn't shut off. the grumble or growl shook the car and smelled of electrical. the height of the car did not change. the growl stopped after about 10 minutes. i have parked the car outdoors as to not tempt fate with the possibility of a car fire in the garage in the middle of the night. there is obviously a failure in the air ride system. while i realize everything mechanical has the chance to fail i am deeply concerned that this component was running and has a chance to start a fire with the ignition in the off position. if this component fails while driving and drops the vehicle ride height on the highway the results could be catastrophic.  view

Tl contact owns a 1992 ford f150. the contact noticed that the front passenger side of the vehicle leaned low to the ground. as of november 5, 2007, the dealer had not inspected or repaired the vehicle. the contact felt that the corrosion on the coil spring tower caused a fracture. the vin was unknown. the current and failure mileages were 142,000.  view

Tl contact owns a 2007 toyota camry. while driving 25 mph, another motorist ran a stop sign and caused the contact to strike the vehicle on the passenger side. the contact's air bags failed to deploy. both vehicles were destroyed. a police report was filed. the contact's wife injured her left arm and sustained cracked ribs. his daughter-in-law sustained chest injuries due to the rear passenger seat belt and is currently having chest pains. the purchase date was unknown. the current and failure mileages were 14,250.  view

We bought this van with 46000 miles on it. one month later the transmission went. it was brought to the dealer where they "rebuilt" the transmission. at 67,000 miles, the transmission went again, and we bought a new transmission and it was installed. the van ran fine until now, it is at 90,000 miles and once again the transmission is shot! this is so unfair and unsafe. we as customers deserve better!  view

Tl contact owns a 2006 ford explorer. the transmission is not downshifting correctly. while approaching a stop or driving between 1 and 10 mph, the vehicle jumped. the vehicle has been taken to the dealer on three occasions: september 22, 2006, october 9, 2006, and september 14, 2007. on each visit, the dealer performed a transmission update that only repaired the vehicle for a brief period of time. it is currently october 2007 and the vehicle needs to go back to the dealer for the same failure. the current mileage was 20,000 and failure mileage was 4,700.  view

The inside dual class d tire of a 23 foot motorhome (approximately 10,000 pounds) went flat due to cracking failure of the valve stem. instead of remaining intact, since it was supported by the other dual tire, the flat tire developed a 12 inch sidewall split where it meets the tread. above the mid-range of the split the tread separated from the tire exposing a 3x6 inch section of steel belts. i observed on the inside of this tubeless tire flex fractures, that had severed the cord of the sidewall but not the outer rubber, extending several inches beyond the ends of the split. the cord and rubber of this tire seems to be brittle and could not hold up even under the stress of dual tire use. the tire has the dot ut1l b3c 3705, so this splitting and tread loss was not due to age or excessive use.  view

Tl contact owns a 2007 infiniti g35. the vehicle has bridgestone potenza, size 245/45r18 tires. while driving 60 mph, the contact heard a loud pop. the vehicle was pulled over and she noticed that the rear driver side tire blew out. the vehicle was towed. the bumper cover and wheel protector were damaged. the tires were the original tires. the powertrain was unknown. the failure mileage was 19,000 and current mileage was 21,000.  view

Tl contact owns a 2007 dodge grand caravan. when the contact attempts to lock her vehicle with the power lock function, all the doors lock except the rear passenger sliding door. she has not taken the vehicle to the dealer because they will not provide her with a rental. the failure mileage was 29,541 and current mileage was 30,000.  view

Tl contact owns a 1997 ford explorer. while driving 30 mph, the contact smelled smoke and then noticed smoke rising from the engine compartment. he pulled over approximately two minutes later and discovered flames coming from the engine compartment. there was a small explosion on the driver side of the vehicle. the vehicle was destroyed and a police report was filed. as of november 1, 2007, the dealer and manufacturer had not inspected the vehicle. his vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 07v336000 (vehicle speed control). the contact felt that a leak in the engine compartment caused the fire. the current and failure mileages were 130,000.  view

I recently noticed severe wear on the inside shoulders of both rear tires on my 2006 mazda 5. looking from the rear of the vehicle, the rear tires appear to lean in at the top. i believe the failure of the tires to correctly contact the road contributes to poor handling, and the severe tire wear will lead to unexpected blow-outs. the vehicle was purchased in nov. 2005 and currently has 23,000 miles. it has not been wrecked or otherwise abused in a manner which would affect the rear alignment. the dealer has refused to repair or align the vehicle under warranty when presented this problem on oct. 30, 2007. i have seen similar issues logged under suspension and tires on this site.  view

Tl contact owns a 2007 lexus rx400h. while driving 3 mph, the vehicle accelerated without warning to approximately 25 mph. the vehicle crashed into a wall and the driver sustained bruises to her chest and knees. as of november 1, 2007, the manufacturer had not inspected the vehicle. they stated that it could take 4-6 weeks before the vehicle could be inspected. the contact felt that the accelerator pedal caused the failure. the vin was unknown. the current and failure mileages were 1,500.  view

Tl contact owns a 2007 buick terraza. while driving 65 mph, the passenger side rear door opened on its own. the contact pulled to the side of the road and attempted to close the door, but it would not shut. the vehicle was taken to the nearest dealer and they stated that the cable needed to be replaced. the vin and engine size were unknown. the current mileage was 7,500 and failure mileage was 1,085.  view

A part in the door of my 1998 toyota corolla broke about two years ago. i could not open the driver's door from the outside. i got it fixed at the dealer for about $300. a few months ago, something in the same door malfunctioned. i am now unable to open the door from the inside. a few days ago, the original problem occurred again. i am now unable to open the driver's door.  view

I got a strong smell of gasoline in my 2003 chevrolet trailblazer. i stopped at a garage and they looked at it and said the fuel line was either busted or corroded. they could not fix it right away, but said they didn't think the fuel line on a 2003 vehicle should be rusted. the gas was pouring out underneath the vehicle causing a fire hazard. i called the local chevrolet dealer and they could not fix it either, but they informed me that it would be rusted through that they are replacing a lot of them and also brake lines. i ask if there was a recall for this on the vehicle, and he said no it's just the ice melting materials they use on the roads around here. the gas tank has to be removed and the lines need replaced. the garage that is doing the work says that the fuel pump and filter should be replaced while the tank is down. i don't believe a four year old car should have fuel lines and brake lines rusting out like that. i think it is an engineering mistake on the materials these lines are made from. i am sure a lot of other people have spent large sums of money to repair this problem and if my complaint can get a recall started that would benefit all trailblazer owners.  view

Tl contact owns a 2001 dodge intrepid. while driving approximately 55 mph, the contact heard a ticking sound coming from the vehicle. he took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the timing chain failed. almost two years later, the contact heard a loud pop and pulled to the side of the road. the vehicle was towed to a transmission shop and they stated that the vehicle needed a new engine. currently, the vehicle is unable to be driven. the purchase date was unknown. the current mileage was 73,000 and failure mileage was 45,000.  view

I am experiencing a consistent problem with my 2007 toyota rav4 with a lag in acceleration. the time i noticed it the most is when slowing down to about 10 mph to make a turn, as i come out of the turn and press the accelerator, the car does nothing for a couple of seconds. then the engine revs up and finally lurches forward. after taking it in to the dealership twice and being told that this is how "drive-by-wire" acceleration is designed even though i've told them that i see it as a safety issue, i am not optimistic that this problem will be resolved. i started noticing this problem just a couple of days after purchasing my vehicle.  view

While driving 60 mph a car made a left in front of our vehicle hitting us. i had a passenger in the truck with me. the front airbags on the other vehicle went off, while ours failed to do so. nether the passenger or driver's airbags went off.  view

Tl contact owns a 2000 kia sportage. while driving 25 mph, the contact smelled gas coming from the vehicle; however, the odor intensified when the vehicle was parked. a private mechanic examined the vehicle and found that the fuel tank was corroded, causing gas to leak from two holes. the mechanic stated that the shield was placed on the vehicle before the fuel tank was dried, which caused water to sit on the tank and corrode. the dealer stated that the fuel tank needed to be replaced at the cost of $472.13. the dealer and manufacturer confirmed that the vin was not included in recall number sc059 and would not be able to provide assistance. the dealer information was unavailable. the current mileage was 127,000 and failure mileage was 126,000.  view

Vehicle was at dealer for left axle seal leak. next day vibration noticed while slight right turn pressure on wheel. returned vehicle to dealer. couldn't find problem on lot. after testing on road for 2 mins. it was determined that transmission had total failure.  view

Catastrophic failure of the right lower control arm mounts at the subframe occurred with no warning or prior symptoms. the vehicle is a 2000 ford windstar with approximately 95k miles. at the time of the failure the driver was pulling away from a curb when the control arm mounts broke causing the wheel to swing away from the vehicle and the drive axle to pull out of the transmission. the vehicle was towed to a local service station where it was examined. the dealer was contacted who in turn instructed me to contact ford motor company directly. under the direction of ford motor company the vehicle was towed to the dealer to determine the cause of failure. the dealer determined that the sub-frame was rusted out in the area around the passenger side control arm mounts. ford has refused to offer any assistance in fixing the problem. a search of the nhtsa complaint database revealed 12 other complaints of similar failures with 1998-2001 windstars. (odi #s: 10152076, 10103097, 10152712, 10138539, 10183135, 10171784, 10173473, 10153590, 10200106, 10005872, 761511, 10172459) there appears to be a trend related to excessive corrosion leading to premature failure of the rear portion of the subframe on the passenger side. one possible factor could be the placement of the air conditioner system and the tendency for condensation to drip on this portion of the frame whenever the system is in cooling or defrost mode causing accelerated corrosion. this is a severe failure that is premature, not easily detectable, potentially fatal, and will likely occur more frequently as these vehicles age. i strongly urge the nhtsa to conduct an engineering investigation regarding this failure.  view

Fmvss-218 is junk! don't suggest states mandate i wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle when you haven't proved conclusively it offers greater protection in a crash than not wearing a helmet. nhtsa nor the dot will list approved helmets for obvious reasons, liability! helmets are hot, heavy and restrict hearing as well as vision. as a us citizen over the age of 21 i refuse to be told that i must wear a helmet when riding. i have the right and will exercise the right to decide for myself what is safe and what is not! this i will fight in court and will suggest to all to do the same until we jam the district court system with ridiculous helmet tickets.  view

2000 ford taurus se ffv wagon. strong shudder when in stopping in reverse backing out of parking lot. took to dealership and was told "something" inside the transmission is failing. quoted $3000 for transmission replacement. vehicle has 70,000 miles on it very premature for transmission failure.  view

(1) couple months back, our air conditioning system stopped working. however, the air was still coming through and the system was working, only the cooling system stopped working. (2) we went to the dealership to report the issue. they said that the compressor stopped working. because of that, the air conditioning system halted. (3) they offered to replace the compressor for the normal part charge, plus labor. we declined the offer and looked at other options, such as finding out if the car had any service bulletins on such a problem since the car hadn't even exceeded 50,000 miles! looking around, i found service bulletin #24-004-04, under group: heating & a/c, dated june 1, 2004. it addresses the compressor malfunction due to lack of lubrication. i am pretty sure that this caused our failure. however, the bulletin, according to the moss bros. dodge in san bernardino, applied to only 3.3l or 3.8l. i believe that this should apply to our 2003 dodge caravan se fwd. my wife and i have suffered breathing problems due to the heat during this past summer (2007), especially being enclosed in a vehicle without air conditioning!  view

I have the graco snugride 8643dh03 manufacture date 121606, but it is not listed in the next steps for model info. i will pick a similar model since mine is not listed. my baby can reach under the cover and remove the padding on the back of the cover. there is no liner on it and he has made two holes in the cover on each side of his legs. he has tried eating the "fuzz" he pulls out and i had to pull over while driving due to him choking on it. i now fold the cover under his legs, but he is still able to reach under the cover to pull out fuzz. i contacted graco today, but have not received a response yet.  view

The jack that was delivered with my 2007 toyota corolla collapsed twice while i was changing a tire. the front fender was damaged while it bounced onto the tire. it was lucky that i was not injured. i contacted toyota and was told that the incident was recorded at its national headquarters under file #200710110662 and was told to contact the local dealer to resolve the issues. the dealer ordered a new jack and compared it side by side with the defective jack in the normally raised position and determined that it was unstable. the jack was replaced and the fender damage resulted from the collapsed jack was also replaced by the dealer under factory warranty. it is likely that the same batch of jacks could have similar problems and could cause similar collapses that can cause injury to users.  view

Driving along everything is fine, lose power pull off the side of the road and the vehicle i see black smoke and then flames, couldn't get out because of power windows and locks. went to the back of the vehicle and kicked my way out and the vehicle was engulfed in flames in minutes and burned to the ground.  view

When first driving the car after delivery may 22, 2006, it was noted that the low beam head lights were set dangerously low and provided unsafe lighting. they were immediately adjusted up to a reasonable level to provide adequate lighting of the road for safe driving on low beam. consequently the high beams were projecting up in the air, and provided absolutely no light on the road surface, again causing unsafe driving conditions for rural roads and open highway where the high beams are necessary. i tried to get the dealer service to adjust them and as it turns out the manufacturer does not provide for separate adjustment of the high and low beams, even though they are separate assemblies. i have written and contacted lexus customer service a number of times. they have referred me to lexus arbitration, but no-one will provide a correction for the problem. it appears to me that the headlights must be removed and realigned properly and reinstalled as they must be when originally installed in the vehicle and the headlights should be redesigned to provide separate adjustment.  view

My 2001 toyota corolla le with about 68,000 miles, my check engine light came on. i had my mechanic run the obd code, which returned the code of p0446 (evaporative emission control system vent control circuit). my mechanic determined the problem was with the charcoal cannister system that controls the emissions of the corolla. when i was reading on here i found several people who have the same problem and i want this resolved to no expense to me. i don't have the money it will take to fix this problem.  view

I have written previously about my 2000 oldsmobile alero, clearly from the earliest of complaints which i share with other owners, gm does not care about the problems from brakes, tires, intake gaskets, windows braking, blower motors going, no dipsticks for transmission lines, i could go on and on, the message i receive is through the list of complaints you don't investigate and assist in finding a solution and gm/oldsmobile could give a ?!@#$% about the junk they produced and made millions on at the lack of safety for consumers. i pray that oldsmobile steps up and admits they made defaulted cars when it came to the oldsmobile alero, and while many of us have probably already paid the cars payments off, the lease they could do is offer a $10,000 rebate to purchase another car. heck perhaps i should contact the attorney generals of each state and my own attorney for a possible lawsuit. to all of you other owners of this piece of junk, i sympathize with you, but it takes more than one voice, i too contacted gm and was completely ignored as well. no more buying american made again!!!  view

The forward facing "lockoffs" on our new recaro como do not work! they are intended to lock a seatbelt that doesnt automatically lock for seatbelt use, and intended to replace traditional locking clips. after being alerted by another como owner, i went outside and attempted to install the como forward facing with the lock offs, and found that they were completely defective. the rear facing lock offs work perfectly. according to the sticker on the bottom, the date of manufacture appears to be 07/06/2007 make: recaro model: como color:sand (the following numbers are included as well) 331.00.mm34 6400000086 upc code: 8 82854 31034 0 date of purchase was 9/17/07 if someone installed the como with the forward facing lock offs without realizing they were faulty, a child restraint could easily fail.  view

Vehicle stalled just as i was getting ready to pull out into traffic on 9/11/07 at about 3,300 miles. i could have been hit by oncoming traffic if it had stalled a few moments later. it stalled again 11/5/07 at about 10,000 miles after i pulled into a parking place at work.  view

Back rear window on drivers side of buick lasabel 2001 just dropped down without any warning or indication of any problems. i was told by mechanics and other individual who have buicks that this is a major problem with buicks and that this is not an odd occurrence. at the time of the incident i had to drive through the remains of a hurricane getting everything wet in the back. i managed to get paper and cardboard push up against both sides of the window while holding it up to keep it up till i was able to get it taped and fixed. this is a serious problem especially with individuals who may have small children. gm should advise owners of the problem and not let owners hear this from their dealers. additionally some sort of reimbursement should be made especially when gm is aware of this problem.  view

1999 jeep grand cherokee limited, dual zone heating and cooling. problem is passenger side blows only cold air, will not blow hot. same problem 1,000's others have.  view

While driving around 65-70mph my speedometer stuck. while slowing down after reaching speeds of nearly 70mph, i realized my speedometer was not backing off of this speed. i then did not know how fast i was driving. the speedometer is now stuck at 67mph. from what i understand i will have to replace this actual unit for $500. i have seen this same issue all over forums on the web.  view

2007 toyota tundra crewmax 5.7 has serious vibration from 30-40 mph. when you let up on accelerator the problem ceases. if the transmission changes gears the problem goes away. dealership has driven the truck and can reproduce the problem. dealership says they cannot fix problem until "fix" is known.  view

2002 volvo v70xc started leaking fuel after normal driving. took the vehicle to a dealership and they discovered a cracked fuel pump housing at only 108,000 miles. the pump did not have a mechanical failure. the part was replaced with an "improved" part due to faulty/inferior design/manufacture. the part is currently on national back order due to a high demand as other consumers are experiencing similar failures.  view

The power steering goes out, without any warning. you must shut off the car and restart to get the power steering working again. there is no place to add power steering fluid, as this is an electric power steering unit.  view

While cruising on a level highway at a constant 65 mph in fifth gear my 2002 bmw 1150rt motorcycle's engine speed began to increase and the motorcycle began to loose speed. i steered to the side of the road and stopped. there was a significant grinding sound with the transmission in any gear except neutral and no forward motion in any gear with the clutch engaged. i had the motorcycle transported by truck to the nearest authorized bmw motorcycle dealer. on disassembly, it was determined that the splines connecting the clutch hub to the transmission input shaft had stripped preventing the transmission to be powered by the engine. the motorcycle had 35,769 miles on the odometer and had never exhibited any indication of a pending problem. the dealer installed a new clutch disk and hub and a new transmission input shaft. i have in my possession the failed parts.  view

2006 chevrolet silverado hybrid, upon coming to a stop light in the mountains of north carolina the hybrid vehicle shuts the motor off until until you remove your foot from the brake pedal. when you remove your foot from the brake pedal before you can place your foot on the accelerator the truck rolls backwards at a high rate of speed depending on the incline. chevrolet customer service has said there is no fix for this flaw as of yet and expects us to continue driving the truck as is. i feel this is very unsafe and this vehicle design should never have been sold in the mountains. thank you.  view

1998 ford expedition 5.4l v8 engine, spark plug from cylinder#3 blew out of head causing damage to cylinder head and ignition coil. cleaned out threads with tap of same size, which are impossible to see in tight area of engine compartment and installed new spark plug but it blew out again two days later.  view

With only 14,000 miles on vehicle the aluminum radiator began leaking where the core is attached to the tank. manufacture has since replaced aluminum with steel radiators but would not agree to pay for any of the replacement since the warranty time has expired. i have talked to other people with the same type of motor home that are having leaks also. i feel this is a trend and maybe should be investigated for installing faulty radiators in these units. radiators should last longer than 14,000 miles.  view

The speedometer in my 2003 trailblazer started becoming very inaccurate and would not properly show how fast i was going. it would either stick on a number or randomly max out at 120+ mph, even when just parked. took it to the dealer today and the cost to fix is a shade under $500. the problem is the cluster, which is a very common problem apparently.  view

Everytime the heater is switched on, i can feel a weired smell which will last for about 10 mins. this smell seems like suffocating and have to open the windows for the fresh air to enter. there is some kind of leak in the engine compartment, i am not sure where the leak is from. i am bit worried abt the smell. thanks  view

I put the heat on in my 2003 jeep grand cherokee only to find cold air blowing from every passenger side vent (the floor, the dash, & the defrost). i called 2 jeep dealerships regarding the problem and they both informed me that it is a blend door issue which will cost $1000 to $1400 in order to fix. after searching the internet, i've found that many other people have run into the same exact situation.  view

2001 ford focus zx3 with <55,000 miles has been found to have both from springs broken. at the time of discovery neither spring had worked lose from the perch, however with additional time the springs would be able to move and potentially puncture a tire.  view

2004 f-150 with 41,000 miles has a bad shimmy around 55 mph and wears tires every 8,000 to 10,000 miles. recently truck became very hard to steer so i took it to a local mechanic where it was discovered that the steering intermediate shaft was falling apart.  view

I received a recall notice for our 1998 ford club wagon in august 2007. i keep calling to get an appointment for the part(it has to do with the cruise control defect that can catch fire) and no one has the parts. in september, we receive a card saying that the that "unforeseen shortage" has made it impossible for ford to replace the part at this time. they are offering a "band aid" approach by only disconnecting the cruise control until the parts become available. i find this absolutely unacceptable. the bean counter obviously blew it for ford and now we the consumers are paying the price. i called again today, november 3, and still the parts are not available and was told they may not be available until january? i also found out today that our lincoln town car is on the list and we have never received any notification concerning this car! now, we have two cars waiting for a part that won't be available until who know when! no one can provide a straight answer. i would sincerely appreciate a direct response to my complaint. i also want a guarantee that our two vehicles will be first on the list to get the cruise control parts replaced as soon as possible. ford has allowed all of us that trusted them enough to purchase their vehicles to drive them all this time before they ever put out a recall. that is nine and a half years! trust is a difficult thing to get back once it is lost. i expect ford to live up to its name and get the parts within a thirty day period, since they have already have had several months to have the parts manufactured and sent out to its dealerships. our lives and those that are on the road with us are at stake.  view

This is my 2nd nissan titan in less than 2 years! i traded in a 2005 with less than 20,000 miles because of 3 full tire set replacements and new brakes at 6,000 miles and problems that the dealer stated are currently fixed in the new 2007 models. my new 2007 at 1200 miles dealer replaced defective rims with a new set of defective rims that are a after market plastic hubcap glued to the steel rim which is clicking and popping while in motion and after 15 minutes driving when i park they still pop and click until they completely cool down which is about 30 minutes later. i also have the drivers side window go down by itself and stop exactly at 3 inches after i attempted to close it, my ac does not cool at all and often does not come on even when my gps screen says it is set on high and running i have to pull over turn off truck then restart truck to get ac to come on. dealer says they cannot find the problem even though there is a tsb on it that i gave them! dealer said window problem is due to georgia heat, it is doing what it is suppose to do but my other 3 windows don't have a problem! my rims they stated that they want to put more glue a tsb tech to fix the problem! that is not a repair that is a band aid that will not hold with the heat tires put off! as of now i will never ever purchase any nissan ever again and i will be buying new rims for my truck and nissan consumer affairs has not helped at all what so ever only tell me to do the tsb glue repair and even though i paid 1800.00 extra for chrome rim package they will not refund or purchase new rims at all so i am on my own.  view

My 2003 chevy venture has a leaking fuel tank. the leak is where the plastic inlet nipple meets the plastic tank. i called gm and was told that my vin did not qualify for the recall. the tank will have to be replaced.  view

Tl contact owns a 2003 ford stripped chassis georgetown motor home. the contact received a recall notice in september of 2007 for the vehicle speed cruise control. she notified the dealer and they provided her with a list of places that would repair her vehicle. she called to set up an appointment and was informed that the parts would remain unavailable until october. she called again in october and was informed that the parts would be unavailable until january of 2008. the speed control switch has not been deactivated. there had been no failure to date. the current mileage was 20,617. the consumer stated on october 24, 2007 the dealer deactivated the cruise control. updated 11/06/07.  view

I have this same problem as jb---driver's outside rearview mirror (heated and light dimming) reflected image is severely distorted. there has been no damage to the mirror, but it is distorted and at night it is very hard to tell how many vehicles are behind because each headlight appears to be 3 or 4 headlights. this is a safety issue.  view

I was traveling at a speed of about 45 mph. the driver's side curtain airbag, driver's seat airbag, and driver's seatbelt spontaneously deployed. there is no apparent reason for this.  view

My fiance and i were on our ay home from playing pool in morpark, ca friday night when we got on the 118 freeway going the wrong way. when we realized we needed to go west instead of east, my fiance got on the erringer rd. exit to turn around. by this time i was asleep and don't remember anything from when we got on the freeway to waking up saturday morning. but,his experience was this, we got off on the erringer rd. exit, he went to make the u-turn to get on the 118 west. halfway through the turn, the passenger side door i was resting on popped open and i was sucked out of the car going about 30 mph. the doors were locked and no door adjar light was on, i thought i was safe. my fiance quickly pulled the car over and carried me to the car. he said i looked dead. he knew i was alive because he said he heard "crying like" noises. i very well could be dead. the next morning we took pictures with the newspaper. the pictures are very graphic and they explain the danger of this defect more than words.  view

2003 dodge durango and 2003 dodge caravan. both vehicles have blower fan speed resistors that are burnt out. the vehicles have no heat to clear windshields of frost fogging or ice. i asked dodge world in clifton park new york if there was any recalls and they stated no. too repair these vehicles the entire dash and air bag system has to be removed. these conditions are extremely dangerous.  view

My 2007 tahoe is a piece of ?!@#$%. since i got the truck it has been in and out of the shop. my gas gage floats i can start out at ¾ of a tank and it will go up to ½ of a tank. the dealership has changed multiple parts and can not seem to fix it. the blower in the air conditioner went out that had to be replaced as well. my service light came on and another part had to be replaced. i would have to say that my truck has been in the shop at least 30 days. i would not buy another gm vehicle. the dealership was so quick to sell me the truck, not that quick to help me. i have picture and video with time and date of to gas gauge floating. my gas gage is the recurring problem, the dealership has changed multipr parts.  view

Abs activation at low speed and then abs holding up. i almost got into 3 accidents with small children in car. i have replaced brake pads, rotors, abs sensors, calipers, brake lines and brake switch. nothing works. front tire area catches on fire if driven for long distances. hard time stopping. gm will not recall or repair. there is a tsb (020525006) on same problem but not for my state. recall in other parts of country for same problem, but gm states not for my state even though it is for same problem. very dangerous to drive.  view

On my 2004 cadillac cts the area where the backup lights are leaks from rain, or a car wash. this causes the constant replacement of bulbs because of rain and moisture getting into the area causing the short circuit of the bulbs, and corrosion of electrical sockets, let alone the risk involved of backing up and someone hitting our car from the rear because of failure of the back up lights, (we've had to replace the bulbs four times in 2 months). we took our car today to the cadillac dealership, only to be told that they do not fix this problem, that cadillac found the error, and that the entire section of the car has to be replaced. yet we have to pay between 500.00 to 700.00 for parts and labor to have the correction made. for this to be a 3 year old vehicle, and for this to be a problem, that cadillac knows about, this sounds more like a recall item that should be covered by cadillac and gm.  view

The vehicle was idling with the wipers on slow speed. smoke began to come out of the vent between the windshield and the hood. the plastic vent burst into flames and melted. the flames were extinguished with minimal damage to the vehicle. the wipers are the only thing that doesn't operate now.  view
