2007 TOYOTA RAV4 User Comment / Complaint

When using the vehicle's cruise control it will down shift back and forth from 2nd and 3rd gear numerous times before finally achieving the original speed and returning to 4th gear. this occurs predominately on hills where the vehicle speed will drop forcing the down shift. this down shifting to 2nd gear at speeds as high as 55 mph is hard on the engine. in addition, the ability to concentrate on other traffic and road conditions is impaired. the whole advantage of cruise control is negated causing a more hazardous condition.
