2000 dodge durango, when my car had 70,000 miles on it, there was a recall of the ball joints. my durango now has 100,000+ miles and it is making the same popping noise in the front end. my mechanic says that it needs new ball joints again. i feel dodge replaced the ball joints with the same defective parts as the original parts. this is a safety issue. when i contacted dodge i was told via e-mail that warranty was only until 10 years or 100,000 miles. they did not count on owners keeping this vehicle. this is a safety issue that i feel dodge should stand behind.

I'm also on my second replacement of the upper ball joints on my 2000 Durango. I had the first replaced at around 70,000 miles and the repair shop used dealership replacement parts (Which seem to be just as defective as the original ball joints). Hmmmm. seems like safety is really not a concern here.
My Durango now has over 100,000 original miles on the frame of the truck but those ball joints are only about 45,000 miles into use and they have only been on the truck for 4 years. I think that qualifies for additional refund. In addition to the ball joints I also had to replace my tires that were ruined because of the faulty ball joints.
I will make my case to Dodge but I don't hold out much hope. If I get an unfavorable result then I will be a very loud voice against any Dodge product!
