Soon after purchasing a 2007 entourage limited in may '07 we began to have trouble with the passenger side sliding door. the door will reopen after being closed. this was first noticed in a restaurant parking lot. fortunately this did not result in anything being stolen, but now have to confirm door will remain closed before leaving the van. there is no pattern but problem usually occurs when other power door/tailgate is open. taken to dealer multiple times but door worked fine. dealer was not very helpful. a personal call to the national service center had to be made before anything was done by the dealer. on the same day as the call the dealer readjusted the door. that was about three weeks ago and the problem is still happening. we have an appointment with the dealer this week, but i still get the impression they don't know how to fix the problem.  view

I own a 1995 sl600 with just 42k miles and in pristine condition. the asr system periodically and randomly engaged, even when slippery road conditions were not present. this occurred again 9/22/07 and the engine would not run. the mb dealer inspected the problem and discovered multiple error codes. the cause of this was due to the wiring harness(s) basically melting due to engine compartment heat. luckily the car did not detonate. however, this is a documeted typical failure. the estimated cost to repair is $6,000 and that is just for the harness(s) to be replaced. there are likely many more problems with exorbitant repair cost, directly caused by the faulty harness in this model. granted the car is 12 years old but meticulously maintained and just 42,581 miles. for a vehicle with an original list price exceeding $100,000, i find this deplorable. the market value of this car without these repairs is null. i cannot afford the risk to my family and the potential financial bottomless pit to repair all of the problems caused by this known by mbusa but not the general public. all of these model year cars should be disallowed for use on our roads. mbusa was aware of this issue and failed to recall or even inform their consumers.  view

I own a 1998 dodge intrepid, it has 128,000 miles on it...oil has been changed every 3,000 miles....i was sitting at a stop light when the engine shut off...it was towed to the dealership where i was told that i needed a new engine...my husband is a auto mechanic, so i had the car towed to my house where my husband checked it out and told me that the timing chain went out, which had bent the intake valves...upon inspection of the block he noticed a defect in the block...the oil return holes are to small and become clogged, which in turn causes engine failure....and engine failure can cause accidents, if it fails at the wrong time and place.  view

Car hesitates when accelerator pedal is applied after coming to a stop or when attempting to pass other vehicles. especially frequent at turns from a complete stop eg turning into or across moving traffic. the car initially moves forward and then all forward movement stops. the engine does not appear to die the rpm's stay constant but the gas pedal has no effect and the car simply rolls to a stop at low speeds or slows up considerably at higher speeds. the result is that you are left either straddled across a couple of lanes of oncoming traffic if you tried to turn left or you are stalling in front of traffic traveling in the same direction as you or you are hung out to dry at higher speeds in the wrong lane of a two lane highway. it happens frequently but it does not happen constantly. you just never know when it is going to happen. it is extremely dangerous and the dealer says that all the minis are the same and that , that is just the way they handle. well it didn't handle like that when i got it and it only handles that way a few times a day.  view

Tl contact owns a 2001 toyota corolla. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. he checked the fan belt and heard a knocking sound. he has not taken the vehicle to the dealer because he hoped there was a recall available. the failure and current mileages were 65,000.  view

Owner of 1997 ford explorer that had a recall issued in 2001 for throttle body problem. nhtsa #00v-42200. my explorer was not one of the recalled vehicles (not built in st. louis or louisville) and i never knew anything about this problem. about 8 months ago i began experiencing a problem with a sticking accelerator. result of a web search about a month ago to see if a problem exists for this condition because i feel i'm going to crash into something going forward or reverse, i found out about this recall. by calling ford motor company customer service. line today i was told that a ford dealer will fix the problem but i have to pay for it. i had the cust. serv. rep. make an "on the record" of my call and my question is this: if this was a safety issue in 2001 for certain factory built explorers, why couldn't it become a future safety issue (in 2007) if the vehicle (mine) was built in another factory? couldn't this problem arise at another time, as it has with me? the problem i am experiencing is identical to every word stated in the recall. the original throttle body is installed on my explorer.  view

Every time it rains my serpentine belt comes off which causes extremely hard steering. mechanics say it is a chrysler tensioner problem and common. i have replaced tensioners twice in the last 2 years and many (10=) belt changes to put belt back on. fortunately i have been driving slow at the times (5-6 times in the last 6 months) this has occurred. just a matter of time before a fatality occurs due to this recurrent problem. time for someone with clout to get involved and make chrysler fix this problem.  view
