Tl contact owns a 2002 mini cooper. while driving 65 mph, the shift cable completely detached from the manual transmission and preventing the contact from shifting gears. the vehicle was towed to a transmission specialty shop and they reconnected the shift cable. bmw stated that the vehicle was not included in recall number 02v201000 (power train:manual transmission:floor shift assembly). the purchase date was unknown. the current mileage was 48,800 and failure mileage was 48,750.
