1996 GMC C15 User Comment / Complaint

Consumer received recall letter concerning the engine cooling fan however, the dealership that the vehicle was purchased from is no longer in business. consumer is seeking assistance for this matter . the consumer provided a copy of recall letter pertaining to his vehicle.  view

Tl contact owns a 2006 land rover range rover. on july 4, 2007, while driving 65 mph, the vehicle began to shake. the contact's hands were vibrating on the steering wheel. an appointment was already scheduled for the following week to have the vehicle examined because he believed an alignment was needed. the contact learned from the head of the warranty department that, according to the technician's evaluation, the tires had deep cuts in them and needed to be replaced. the current and failure mileages were 28,000.  view

Ignition sticks. cd player (6 disc changer) failed in 1st month of ownership and less than 1,000 miles. was replaced but all of my cd's are in player and may not be returned. sudden engine/electrical failure with spontaneous restart while driving approx 45 mph.  view

Tl* the contact owns a 1998 ford explorer sport. front driver seat lever will not stay in place. driving on the road one afternoon, the seat reclined out of control. the seat must be reclined in a reasonable position when driving. however, it was unsafe for him to operate the vehicle. he stated that he is experiencing the same failure as listed in recall number 03v281000. the recall stated that on certain sport utility vehicles equipped with high back seats the upper bolt on the driver's side that attached the seat recliner mechanism to the seat back frame could fracture. the driver could potentially lose contact with the steering wheel or foot pedals during such an event, increasing the risk of a crash. the manufacturer stated that this vehicle was not included in the recall due to the vin, and that there was nothing they could or will do to fix it. the manufacturer was advised to call the national highway safety administration (nhtsa). the contact did not know the name of the dealer where he purchased the vehicle. the current mileage was 116,000, and the failure mileage was 95,000. updated 06/14/07.  view

Speedometer has become erratic on a 2004 chevy silverado @ 47,000 miles. started approx. 5/14/07. does not work right mainly in the afternoons - speed indicates 0-10 mph whether doing 50 mph or 70 mph. contacted chevy dealer on 5/25/07 and have not heard back from them. i feel as if this is a safety issue that chevy should repair and recall.  view

Tl* the contact owns a 2002 cadillac deville. the contact stated that the brake pin detached when she depressed the brake pedal. she contacted a local cadillac dealer who will have someone inspect the vehicle. the dealer stated that they had never before seen that type of failure. the dealer had the vehicle since the failure occurred on april 27, 2007. the contact stated that as a result of the failure there was some property damage it crashed into a fence. the current and failure mileages were 45,000. unknown 06/08/07.  view

Tl contact owns a 2003 ford coachman. the mechanic discovered coolant leaking from the refrigerator, but not in the location noted in the recall. dometic was notified and stated that the refrigerator is a part of the recall, but the burner housing unit would not help the refrigerator. the contact wants the entire coolant unit replaced, but dometic stated that they will only repair what is mentioned in the recall. the dometic model # is rm 2652. the part number was unavailable. updated 06/08/07.  view

I purchased 4 toyo tires for my 1999 toyota avalon last summer. all of the tires continue to lose air requiring i fill them up 2 or 3 times a month!  view
