While driving at approximately 15mph slowing down, noticed sudden loss of steering capability when vehicle began to wobble, drove to nearest tire shop, found left front tie rod end and motor mount had broken, also, was towed to dealer for repair.  view

Tl contact owns a 2007 dodge charger. the contact has owned the vehicle for only two months and it has already been in the shop three times. he stated that the engine makes a noise while the vehicle is idle. the pcv valve was diagnosed as the cause of failure. approximately two days later, the failure recurred. the contact took the vehicle to another dealer because the brakes were popping and squealing. the brakes were repaired, but the engine noise continued. the mechanic compared the contact's vehicle to another vehicle and confirmed that his vehicle was experiencing failure. there were no warning indicators present. the powertrain was unknown. the current mileage is 6,333 and failure mileage was 3,000.  view

I live in minnesota. i purchased a new 2004 saturn ion coupe, with only 84 miles and drove off the show room floor. i had numerous problems with the car starting in cold weather. i took the car to a saturn dealership once it started , and they said it was the pass lock system in the car. the saturn has continued to do the same thing over the last couple winters. this past winter it was extremely bad. 2 out of 7 days the car wouldn't start right away ,but then i would try again in 20 minutes and it would start. i took the saturn remote controls off the key chain thinking it was the problem. but it wasn't . also, i had the battery tested and it was fine. there needs to be a recall on this vehicle. can someone please help. it seemed many were having the same complaints. this almost cost me a pay raise. too many absences at my job will eliminate me.  view

My complaint concerns the 2006 dodge durango slt. i was driving during rainy/stormy weather on sunday, 06/17/2007 when i hit a puddle, i lost power steering and i was forced to stop. i was terrified, and i was unable to steer at all. i was able to make it to my destination and stopped briefly at a gas station to gather my wits. at that time the battery light came on as well, then it went off. when i was calm enough to go home the same thing happened and i was forced to stop in my subdivision to avoid hitting parked cars. these two incidents were preceded by two similar incidents which were experienced by my fiance'. he took the durango to findley chrysler in tomball, tx the first time this happened and on monday, 06/18/2007, he took the durango to tomball dodge, and both certified dealerships told us that nothing was wrong with the suv. they just notified us to bring it back to them again if the power steering failure again. we opted to get rid of the vehicle rather than being unable to get the problem repaired or our questions answered and risk an accident, property damage and possibly our deaths.  view

My 2006 silverado and 2002 gmc yukon are both making a clunking sound when turning the steering wheel either left or right and also when hitting a bump. is there anyone else complaining of this problem and what can be done about it.  view

2000 oldsmobile bravada when engine was turned off all electrical features in car died, including power door looks. the manual release mechanism forthe doors were also inoperative. they appeared to be held down by the door lock power circuit. this trapped the driver inside. police were called and they were unable to open the doors and confirmed that the driver was unable to use the manual release mechanism since it was also inoperative. they finally broke a window to release the driver. car was towed and it was discovered that the battery was dead. the battery was replaced and a full electrical check of the system was performed and the problem could not be reproduced. no reason was provided for the failure. the old battery is still accessible but i believe that the problem is somewhere in the computer circuits that kept the locks in the lock position until the batery failed.  view

Purchased used 2002 vw jetta 1.8 turbo (5 speed) with 34,000 miles still under warranty. taken to dealership for blown fuses (cigarette lighter), trunk latch, center console, and transmission repairs. fuse problem was ongoing. within a few months, a local mechanic installed a small boost gauge on the dash, which was wired into a 10 amp fuse. within five days, the car was being backed out of the driveway when smoke began pouring from all the dash vents. the wire harness, fuse block, and controller components located behind the dash were destroyed by fire. vw of america prepared to send investigators to nm, but when they discovered gauge wiring may have contributed, they did not investigate. have read of other electrical fires behind instrument panel, dash, since this time. our son was driving the car at the time of the fire, but was able to get out.  view

While driving on the highway, all of my dashboard lights lit up and my vehicle lost all power; ie: the radio and the blower shut off and my rpms dropped. the same thing happened 3 other times under different conditions.  view

Tl contact owns a 2003 volkswagen passat. while driving 5 mph, the vehicle lost power and completely shut off. the vehicle was towed to the dealer who determined the cause of failure was the fuel pump. the contact conducted research on his vehicle and found that there were recalls on the fuel pump for the 2003 volkswagen passat. he notified the manufacturer who stated that the recalls applied to vehicle's made between september 2002 through march 2003. the contact's vehicle was made in april, therefore excluding it from the recall. he believes that his vehicle is included in the recall. the current mileage is 52,000 and failure mileage was 15,000.  view

There is a hesitation upon accelerating when passing, exiting interstate or starting up hill after turning a corner. this is a serious safety issue as it can cause an accident due to the delay of acceleration.  view

I purchased a 2005 chrysler 300 new. after 20000 miles i now must purchase a complete new set of tires due to very poor ware on the oem tires. the oem tires are continental contiseal tires. these tires are rated for 60000 miles so i only obtained 1/3 rd og their life rating. contenintal offered me a 35% discount off of the purchase of new set of their tires. unacceptable to me.  view

Tl contact owns a 2000 ford f150 4x4. the contact stated that her vehicle was parked in front of her house on june 4, 2007. on the morning of june 5, 20007, the vehicle appeared fine until she heard the neighbors screaming. the contact discovered six foot flames rising from underneath the hood. the fire department extinguished the blaze and two fire marshals filed a report. according to the contact, the dealer and manufacturer stated that they will get back to her in ten days via mail. the vehicle was destroyed. the current and failure mileages were 86,000.  view

Engine, check gadges light appears, suv stalls, radio lights and steering lights keeps failing. i have taken my 04 envoyxl into the dealership over 7 times for the same problem in which they have not yet been able to fix/resolve. my envoyxl check engine and check gadges lights keep popping on and the vehicle continues to cut off/stall the dealership has not yet fixed the problem, i have taken the suv in over 6 times for this problem. from 2004 until now 2007 the problem continues. the lights on the dash board keeps going out. they have replaced the lights at least 2 or 3 times but they keep going out. these lights are on the radio part, the buttons which operate the radio and switches the station. the panels seems to get very hot. the lights are currently out now after being replaced 3 times and now the vehicle is out of warranty. the paint on the suv is very dull and the leather on the 2nd row seat is cracking, completely worn and very cheap. i complained to the dealership 1 year after i purchased the vehicle that the leather is worn out too fast, nothing was done about the 2nd row leather seats. the paint on the exterior is dull and spotty, i complained to the dealership before the 36,000 mile warranty expired and nothing was done about the paint either. this suv is a lemon, it continues to cut off although many attempts has been made to repair the problem, i think they should buy this vehicle back since it can't be fixed. there is a defect in the electrical system since these lights on the instrument panel continues to wear out very fast and the radio had to be replaced already but the lights continues to blow out on the instrument panel and the steering wheel which also controls the radio and other components.  view

Tl contact owns a 1991 pontiac grand prix ste. the contact stated that the vehicle fails to start unless the steering wheel is turned in a certain position. she also stated that the brake lights will not work unless the headlights are activated. as a result, fuses have blown and the vehicle occasionally overheats. she notified the dealer who stated that her vin was not included in any recalls. the contact referenced recall # 92v182000 (electrical system:fuses and circuit breakers). the engine size, powertrain, and failure mileage were unknown. the current mileage is 150,647.  view

Tl contact owns a dometic refrigerator, model # rm3663. the contact stated that before receiving safety recall # 06e076000 (equipment: recreational vehicle), her dometic sustained a crack in the boiler tube and failed. afterwards, she received the recall notice and scheduled an appointment. dometic stated that they would replace the unit, but now the service center is charging $320 plus tax to install the new cooling unit. the purchase date was unknown.  view

2007 saturn vue green line (hybrid gas electric). the vehicle stalled in traffic and battery light was on after restart. the battery light problem was previously reported to saturn of cerritos who did a firmware update to fix it. after 2nd occurrence vehicle was taken to saturn of anaheim where a wiring harness was replaced.  view

No injuries involved. while traveling along a local highway at approx. 45 to 50 mph, i experienced a blow out of the left rear tire on a 2005 ford f150 xlt extended cab-shortbed pickup. upon inspection of the tire/rim by the aaa technician, it was determined that the oem steel rim had split open thus causing the "blowout" . it was further determined that the rim had split nearly 2/3 of the way around the rim. this is a stock oem steel rim with a chrome outer "clad" surface. as the truck is of high mileage ( i drive nearly 4200 mi. month), the local ford dealership was reluctant to replace it. i requested that the rim be inspected by the regional ford rep. that handles warranty claims. the rim is scheduled to be inspected on june 8, 2007 at which point a decision shall be rendered. no accident was involved, however if the wheel had been on the front of the vehicle, and i had been traveling at freeway speeds of 65 plus miles per hour, the potential would have existed for a serious accident as the result of sudden loss of vehicle control.  view

I have had my new 07 dodge nitro completely die on me twice now for no reason at all. once while in a parking lot and once while traveling on the interstate. all lights and power ceased and all gauges went to 0. this is a major concern for me. i travel with my child and his and my safety seem to be in serious danger with this vehicle. i have spoken with 3 dodge dealers and went in to have my car checked over already and no one seems to know what the problem is? i fell there is something wrong with me making a $450 a month payment for a vehicle that i cant depend on.  view

At 12,000 miles i started to have a severe vibration when braking. i contacted the auto dealer immediately and was told that the brakes needed a break in period and not to worry, so i didn't bring it in. at 18,000 miles i had it looked at and the auto dealer said it was cupped tires without even looking at it. i returned to the dealer again who then advised me that it was cupped tires at 24,000 miles. during a warranty repair i asked that they look and again they mentioned cupped tires. i had the tires replaced at 36,000 miles and took it back to the dealer who then informed me that the cause was bad rotors and the service manager refused to correct the problem without charge. understand this was the fourth time i contacted the dealer about this same issue. i have now had the new tires installed for about 800 miles and this problem is starting to ruin these as well according to the tire technician. it is my contention that there is something seriously wrong with the car, and it is causing the tires to wear badly and unevenly but the dealer refuses to acknowledge it.  view

Tl contact owns a 2001 lexus is 300. while driving 50 mph, the contact noticed smoke rising from under the hood, followed by a loud noise. the vehicle shut off and was unable to be restarted. the vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed the cause of failure as the timing belt. the dealer did not make the repair. the vehicle was towed to a mechanic who stated that there was oil build-up inside the engine. he recommended that the engine be replaced. as of june 6, 2007, the engine has not been repaired. the current mileage is 140,000 and failure mileage was 70,000.  view

I purchased a '99 mits galant for my daughter for her 16th b'day in november of 2004. she continually complained of steering wheel vibration which i did feel on the couple of occasions i drove the vehicle. in late 2005 she went to make a left hand turn and the vehicle would not steer left. she subsequently hit a retaining wall. i did not turn it into my insurance since it was purely cosmetic. she was driving the vehicle very little. she saved her money until last month when she had the front end repaired. within weeks of getting the vehicle back she again went to make a left turn off of our street and the vehicle would not steer left again. she hit a trailer and pushed it into a fence. unfortunately, this time she was injured and had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance. due to this 2nd occurrence i decided to check for recalls that deal with the steering on these vehicles. i found recall #00v225001 dated 8/10/2000 that describes her problems perfectly. i don't understand why i was not made aware that i needed to have this checked when i purchased the vehicle. i think the manufacturer should take care of the current repairs on the vehicle or replace it.  view

I own a 2006 f250 4*4 and while driving at speeds in excess of 60 mph the truck shakes violently and even sways from lane to lane, when encountering any rough place in the roadway. this is a very violent shaking and i have been fortunate enough to keep the truck from wrecking. the shaking will not stop until you have slown down dramatically or come to a stop. ford has commented that it could be the air pressure and have ordered a steering damper to try to correct the problem. this truck has done this since day one and with the factory tires and the new tires that i have on it now. this problem needs to be addressed before someone is killed in an accident resulting from the defect in design.  view

5 days after paying harr toyota of worcester 2000.00 for a 60,000 mile check up, brakes and my third set of run flat tires. i experienced a blow out on the highway which was caused by improper installation of the tire. this was noted by toyota of nashua who then replaced the tire which again blew out 60 miles down the highway. this is the third set of tires i have had with 56,000 miles on the car. not including the two i had to replace due to inferior work. this is insane and very dangerous. my family's lives were endangered twice in one day! every toyota mechanic i spoke to complained about the tires. after getting no satisfaction from either dealership i wrote a lettter to yuki funo the ceo of toyota who kindly sent the letter back to harr who has still done nothing! unbelievable that they are allowed to sell such an inferior product at such a high price that is not only expensive but dangerous!!! also unbelievable that a ceo of a company is aware he is endagering people's lives and does nothing about it.  view

Tl contact owns a 2006 chevrolet corvette. the contact received a recall notice (the campaign number was unavailable). he stated that the roof detached from the vehicle and struck his son on the head. the roof then landed in a field on the side of the road. the vehicle was taken to the dealer in december of 2006. the dealer examined the vehicle and found nothing wrong, however they stated that if a failure was found, they would repair the vehicle under warranty. however, if the contact were to claim medical expenses, they would not offer him any assistance. he notified the manufacturer who also did not provide any assistance. the contact called the state's attorney's general office who provided further information regarding the recall pertaining to the roof failure. he stated that his son suffers from severe neck injuries. the current and failure mileages were 12,500.  view

On june 07 at 1100hrs the gearshift knob and gearshift boot disengaged from the console of my 2003 lincoln aviator; the gearshift and therefore transmission were locked in the d(rive) position could not be shifted to another position or disengaged. the lincoln-mercury dealer was a short distance from the gas station where i was so i elected to drive it there under the circumstances. once at the lincoln-mercury dealer a technician examined the gearshift and indicated that an incident like mine "happens all the time" ... "a screw comes loose". was advised too that likely parts would have to be ordered. repair to the aviator is estimated at $584 since the entire "shifter assembly" had to be replaced. there was no accident or injury but it is not unreasonable to expect that such a critical component would experience such a defect that apparently is or was a "known problem", and this is certainly not the level of quality expected in a $45000 "luxury" utility vehicle.  view

My 2007 camry se was t-boned on the driver side by a 2006 saab. the saab's airbags went off and the car was considered totalled. the point of impact was the front end of the saab into the drivers side door - estimated speed was 30mph. no airbags went off in the 2007 camry! no indicators we lit on the dash. the car had 5500 miles on it. the car was repaired and not totaled because the airbags did not go off. total repairs on this car are currently around $14,000  view

Safety defect 1) my wife was driving in the rain and went to the mall. just after she left the mall, the 2) dashboard lights for abs, electronic stability control, and traction control came on and stayed lit. within a mile or so, my wife had spun across 3 lanes of interstate traffic and into the guardrail while attempting to enter interstate. 3) at this point the jeep liberty has been towed to a body shop. nothing to repair failure has yet been attempted.  view

My wife and i took our 2006 ford freestyle into the dealer for a routine oil change and checkup. we were informed that the rear break pads were down to 3 percent. i expressed surprise, since we had the car only for one year (18,800 miles), and asked how that could be. the service rep only indicated that it would be due to how we drive. later that day, i found out there was a tsb issued on that very problem.  view

Re: 2001 pt cruiser tire pressure loss from chrome plating failing on the rims allowing air loss i wish to document my extreme dissatisfaction concerning my experience with chrysler concerning what i have come to learn is without question, a serious manufacturer¿�s defect with the wheels of my car. the wheels have not provided anywhere near a reasonable service life and whose problem had been misdiagnosed until the basis of failure had degraded until its cause was without question, apparent. i have also learned that problem is also recognized by chrysler service dealerships as a routine problem, is abundantly documented and widespread on focused websites related to this vehicle and is problem familiar to each tire shop i have gone to. without question this problem poses an extreme danger to drivers of the vehicle who unknowingly will drive on a potentially extremely under-inflated tire. their position in my opinion to merely ¿�not recognize it as a problem¿� and not warn the owners of your vehicle to alert them to this common problem is unconscionable, callous and constitutes an extreme hazard to the driving public.  view

Unintended and out of control acceleration i was slowly pulling out of a parallel parking place with my left foot still on the brake. the car suddenly accelerated with the engine speeding. it took both feet on the brake to bring the car to a stop, just short of a pedestrian in a cross walk. the engine dropped to idle after a few seconds. the car was delivered to woburn jaguar who worked on it but could not duplicate the problem. jaguar cars in nj was advised but offered no help.  view

(1) driving vehicle. (2) intermittent power loss and stalling. after stalling crank/no start (3) took vehicle to dealer for repair, unable to duplicate problem no repairs made. repeated this process many times with no repairs fixing the problem.  view

2005 kawasaki klr 650 8,250 miles. the idler shaft lever (doohickey) retention / return spring was broken. i opened the case to replace this part that has had problems with failure and sure enough mine was broken! had i not done this preventive upgrade and adjusted the lever as per my regularly scheduled maintenance schedule. i could have ruined the motor due to the broken part! this is common knowledge to klr riders that this is a defect that kawasaki needs to address.  view

Vsc warning light came with check engine light. pulled in a local dealership, was told car was ok to continue driving but make an appointment for service. left dealership, went approx 0.5 miles to get gas. when i stopped the car there were loud scrambling noises like an animal was loose in the dash. popped the hood, couldn't see anything- looked under car and all the transmission fluid was pouring out. had car towed back to dealership. still waiting for verdict. car is only 7 months old and this will be my 3rd time in the shop. at 3 months had to receive full wheel alignment due to severe shaking and pulling to the left. at 6 months brought car in complaining of a loud creaking during turns- arm bolt was loose and needed to be tightened. also, the windshield makes a loud crack/pop noise every morning on my way to work. this car had excellent reviews, what happened!  view

We have a new 2007 chevrolet silverado that has been a problem. when you gave it gas it would shift real hard, we took it to the dealership and the seals in the transmission had to be replaced. the truck was in the shop 2 or 3 days for that. the hard shifting was still there. we continued to drive it. a couple days later my husband was driving the truck, and it stalled on him while driving. we drove it for about a week like that until i called gmac to report to them what was going on with the truck. the women i talked with told me it was a saftey issue and needed to be taken into the dealership.we took it into the dealership everytime the truck would stall while driving and nothing showed up on any dashboard displays. when the dealership had it,they hooked a computer to it and drove it. it did stalled on them, and their computer registered a failure, but it showed no codes. the dealership said they had to contact gm to find out what to do. we needed our truck by friday because of prior plans. we called gmac complaint line on thursday to find out what was going to happen. we talked with the complaint department as well as their saftey deparment explaining everything that was going on and that we needed thetruck. they said there was really nothing they could do, and pretty much told us we could pick thetruck up, knowing it was already noted as unsafe to drive. on friday the dealership put a new computer in it, and my husband picked it up. on saturday my husband and i were driving on i-75 in the passing lane going 75 mph and the truck quit on us. we almost had an accident with a jeep, along with almost going down a hill. i called gmac right away to let them know what happened, along with letting them know that the computer wasn't the problem. this truck was a major safety issue. i've explained my concerns with gmc over the last couple of days, and they didn't want to help us at all.  view

When applying the brakes on wet pavement left front wheel locks up, and there is a grinding in the pedal. on dry pavement when applying the brakes the vehicle shakes and pullls.  view

My dash has been cracked for four years and has become worse. other owner complaints relate to faulty wiring/head and tail light malfunctions due to the defective dash.  view

The ignition cylinder the 2000 ford focus locked and i was unable to turn the key. it first happened while i was at an atm at 11pm at night and was not able to turn the igntion for almost 30 minutes, which placed me in a very dangerous situation. two weekd later it happened again, but this yime was unable to turn it at all, and had to be towed to a ford dealership to have it fixed. the repair cost me, with towing was $550. i knew this has been a problem for other focus owners and felt ford should be recalling this porblem.  view

My husband and i when returning home from a visit to relatives in taylorsville, utah. it had been snowing but had stopped or slowed down in taylorsville. since we were driving an escape hybrid 4-wd, we believed we would be fine to begin our trip. we were driving on interstate 15 when it started snowing really hard. we were just past the provo area. there were many cars and big trucks on the freeway and everyone was driving as slow as possible. we were driving in the slow lane when suddenly the car started to slide into the inside lane. we had not made any sudden moves, had not increased speed or applied brakes. i could not understand why we began to slide as if the 4-wd kicked in , as it should had. we should have had the necessary traction. it did not feel as though we had any traction at all. as we slid to the inside lane we continued sliding on an angle toward the shoulder. when we reached the shoulder the car rolled onto the passenger side. i was amazed as both myself and my husband grew up in snow country and had many years of experience in driving in the snow. i never had a vehicle suddenly start sliding unless i was trying to turn a corner, stop at a light/stop sign, or made some other action which changed the movement of the car. i have never rolled in a car, but i have slid onto the shoulder on a few occasions. i did not believe the smart 4- wd system was working properly, and i did not believe we should have rolled.  view

Tl contact owns a 2002 mercedes benz s430. on december 8, 2006, the contact stated that the front shock failed. the failure occurred at 10 mph. the dealer diagnosed the failure as airmatic malfunction. on may 16, 2007, the rear shocks failed. the contact has not received a diagnosis for the failure, but the dealer confirmed that the rear shocks failed. the purchase date and engine size were unknown. the current mileage is 94,264 and failure mileage was 90,000.  view

Tire/strut rub - took 2005 gto with 24000 miles to the local dealer to fix a leak on the front seal of the transmission, and was informed when i went to pick up the car that the left front driver's tire was getting bald on the inner side, and the right front passenger tire was down to the belt and could blowout at any time. drove it straight home and looked at the tires and couldn't believe what i saw. upon an internet search found numerous other gto owners with the same tire/strut rub, especially with the right front passenger tire. gm needed to acknowledge t and fix this problem now! this was a very dangerous and serious problem and gm was lucky that this was caught before anyone was killed. this needed to be taken care of now!!  view

Speedometer says i'm going 110 mph and i've got the engine off. i cannot safety drive my vehicle not know how fast i'm driving. this must be recalled by gm!  view

Driving at approximately 35 mph the engine cradle fell off. due to the defect, consumer lost all power steering, was not able to steer .the rear points of the engine cradle rusted out which caused the whole engine assembly to fall out, including the steering mechanism. dealer will replace mounting brackets, rack pinion steering assembly, etc. ak  view

Tl contact owns a 2002 jeep grand cherokee. the contact called pertaining to the class action suit against jeep for the brakes. she has been experiencing severe brake and rotor failure. she stated that when she depresses the brakes, the vehicle pulsates horribly and out of control, causing the steering wheel to shake. every time the vehicle was taken to the dealer, they stated that she needed a front end alignment. the contact has had the alignment performed three times and the failure still occurs. she has contacted the manufacturer who stated that she does not qualify for the class action suit because her vehicle is an older model. the contact stated that the mechanics have continued to place the faulty part on her vehicle due to the date of the class action suit. new tires were also installed as suggested by the mechanic. approximately 10,000 miles later, the brakes are needing to be replaced. the engine size was unknown. the current mileage is 80,655 and the failure mileage was unknown.  view

Noticed truck running hot when sitting idle. took vehicle to dealership, and they advised him of a faulty cooling fan module. replaced cooling fan module, and one month later truck ran hot again and was leaking. truck cut off while driving. truck did not fall under current recall for cooling fan modules. would like to request a full refund from manufacturer.  view

During every rain water runs down the inside of the firewall on the passenger's side, behind the glove box, soaks the front carpet, and stands as much as 1 1/2" deep in the rear floor. both carpets were very moldy. i have taken the car to dealers, body shops, and windshield glass experts, and nobody can fix it. if i run a small stream of water from the hose on the lower right corner of the windshield it will show up on the inside of the car within a minute. i have been trying to solve this problem for at least 3 years.  view

The nissan quest van had a structural failure of the crankshaft. i found that nissan began building motors with 23 mm crankshaft in 1993, but changed to 25 mm crankshaft in 1996 due to the lack of structural integrity of the smaller part. i had to replace the motor at a cost of $3400. i felt that since the original part was defective they should be held responsible for the cost of repairs. i have the defective part.  view

After breaking and coming to a complete stop it felt like i have been tapped by the car behind me. this happened quite a few times but not after every stop.  view

At about 9:30 pm on the 18th of may 2007, my car was struck head on at an intersection in el centro, ca. my car was sitting still at the time, the vehicle that struck me was going about 60 mph. my radiator and engine were both hit hard enough to destroy them, my air bags never deployed.  view

I received a recall notice for my 2003 jeep liberty (safety recall f23) late last year and called the nearest dealer in flemington in december 2006 to schedule an appointment to have it repaired. they advised that there was a waiting list as they only received a few kits per week and that they would call when they could schedule an appointment for me. it is now may 20th and still no phone call. although the defect from the recall notice seem serious, i suppose it must not be since it's almost 6 months later and they still have not called. i will be calling the flemington jeep dealer again this week to check the status and if they cannot help, i will call another dealer to see if this is something they will be able to address.  view

Am writing to you because mitsubishi motors was not taking responsibility for its products. on august 27,1999 i purchased the black galant. this was my first new car purchased,, and while it has remained mechanically sound, for the last three years i have watched the paint disappear. i had service work performed at sam swope mitsubishi. in 2003 i complained about the paint, and was told only if the vehicle was under the 3 year, 36,000 mile warrant, and over the past three years service department employees have seen the paint disappear. i asked several times if mitsubishi was repairing the paint, m and was told only if the vehicle was under the 3 years, 36,000 mile warranty. in october 2006 i complained to the dealer again. this time pictures were taken by the service manager and sent to the manufacturer. after about two weeks the response that i received from the service manager was that mitsubishi would not pay to fix the paint because the car was too old, and that no other complaints made by me were found. i complained to mitsubishi motor customer relations department in may of 2005. the customer service employee i spoke with stated that the problem with the paint was probably environmental, and that because the car was over the 3 year, 36,000 mile mark that nothing could be done. i complained again in december 2006. the customer service employee stated,that my car was too old, and that nothing would be done about the paint. the galant came to the dealer with a chrome pen stripe. when i purchased the galant i had the pen stripe removed by the dealer because the outer layer of the pen stripe was pealing off. this was proof that there was a flaw in the manufacturing/finishing process. the paint around where the pen strip was located disappeared while the paint under where the pen stripe was intact and in good shape.  view

I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 quad cab truck. the dashboard started cracking approximately 2 years ago. there are five cracks in the dashboard now. i thought it was just my vehicle. however, i have heard several other dodge ram owners having the same problem.  view

My son, after exiting the highway turned north on chaffee road to go home. he went to change lanes into the left lane where the road turned to a four lane road and, as reported by a witness, smoke came out from the front right tire area and the car swung to the right hitting a pole. as witnessed, the vehicle was traveling no more than 25 mph. the car was totaled. the front right tire was obviously not on the vehicle because it and the entire front right suspension beat the car to the scene of the crash. it was lying in front of the car. if it were on the vehicle it would have been under it due to the way the pole took out the front right side of the car all the way into the passengers compartment. the police reported it as a mechanical failure.  view

During a recent service of my vehicle at an authorized mercedes benz service center, i was informed that the insulation covering my wires were decomposing and the wires were exposed to the engine, hence creating a safety hazard for me and my family. due to the severity of the problem, and the possible consequences if the wires caught on fire. the mechanic said it was a material defect. he revealed that this was not the first time he had observed this problem with 1996 280c- class. since this appeared to be a habitual defect with this make and model; i asked if a recall had been issued to replace this decomposing wire harness. he replied "no." i don't think i should have to pay to have the harness replaced. it is a defect and should be paid by the manufacturer. i have searched online and found many other owners, @ mercedeshop.com site, have the same problem with their 280c class. can you please help me?  view

I have a 2002 grand cherokee overland. i realized my heater vents on the passenger side weren't working after the vehicle was beyond the 36,000 mile warranty. i believe the failure was long before 36,000 miles but it was too late for the problem to be covered by the warranty. i took it to a dealer who told me the vent-air door had failed. the cost to repair was quoted at being around $1300. i thought it strange that a failure of this type would occur especially in a vehicle with low mileage. i haven't got the vehicle repaired yet but it is certainly an aggravation in the winter. i talked to two people where i work who own grand cherokees and both their jeeps have the same problem. seems like an unusual coincidence. after checking on the internet it appears a lot of jeep owners are having the same heater-vent door problems. sounds like a design problem to me that jeep owners are paying the price for.  view

On occasion the brake lights will stay on after car has been parked and turned off. the brake lights will also stay on with no foot pressure on the pedal while driving.  view

Brakes constantly have grinding and noise problems, brake pedal feels soft or goes to the floor easily. this problem has persisted since the purchase of a 2004 pt cruiser with turbo, but appears to be a 2003 chassi and breaks hence the drum breaks on the rear. drum breaks on a turbo model hummmm.  view

I had no previous problems with the vehicle stalling. the vehicle was running with no noticable difference the day of the incident. i was pulling off from a traffic light and i felt the power from the engine cut out. i looked at my instruments and the tach dropped to zero and all the instrument lights went out. no more than one to two full seconds later all of the instrument lights came on and went through the normal sequence like the vehicle was just started. the engine came back to life and the vehicle ran as though there was no problem. i took the vehicle to the dealer and they said it did not store a code in the computer and they could not replicate the prblem. i have had no other failures. i don't remember the exact date of the failure, but i am sure i have a copy of the service record in my glove box from when i took it to the dealer. i will be happy to cooperate with any investigation and provide the documentation if needed.  view

Starting with a maf sensor going out, replaced, caused damage to o2 sensors, replaced ,as soon as these went out noticed coolant level drop then the coolant level sensor went out at tank, replaced, next morning at start up a loud kind of knocking took place at start up for 5 to 10 min and very rough idle from 1500-2000 rpm ,po300 random misfire, so i replaced plugs , wires , and coils. now ruff rpm range 1000 to 1500 and still knocking at start up. changing oil and filter after almost every fix to check for water or metal, oil is fine,now a po304 -random misfire on 4th cylynder- but car would clear up for a day or two,also adding injector cleaner and fuel filter to make sure fuel system is ok and using a noid check on each injector all injectors fine, now knocking at start up went away ,but rough idle still percists . still po304 so i check compression on the 4th cylinder and it only has 70-75 lbs. of pressure. so i'm done wasting money bring it to the gilroy pontiac buick gmc for tear down and first they saw a burnt exhaust valve on the 4th cylinder , then noticed the water in the valley tray and head gasket is blown and the intake gasket is leaking and the water pump is leaking the same water pump that went out at 700 miles new. so now the only choice i have is to have the head and valve job done, but the water damage would most likely cause pinging after all that moneys spent so now only choice is to pay almost $4500 for a new motor , problem solved.at 92000 mi  view

Retracring of seatbelt failed causing seatbelt to retain slack once cliped. then causing seatbelt to not fit tightly against passengers.  view

Tl contact owns a 2006 kia sedona. the contact stated that the sliding doors would not stay open and would close without warning. this failure has caused bruises on four different occasions. the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. the dealer lubricated the latches on the door, but this did not remedy the failure. the door continued to close without warning. the manufacturer stated that the doors would close if the windows were down. the current mileage is 7,000 and failure mileage was 300.  view

I own a 2006 f250 4*4 and while driving at speeds in excess of 60 mph the truck shakes violently and even sways from lane to lane, when encountering any rough place in the roadway. this is a very violent shaking and i have been fortunate enough to keep the truck from wrecking. the shaking will not stop until you have slown down dramatically or come to a stop. ford has commented that it could be the air pressure and have ordered a steering damper to try to correct the problem. this truck has done this since day one and with the factory tires and the new tires that i have on it now. this problem needs to be addressed before someone is killed in an accident resulting from the defect in design.  view

Noise in steering components. had serviced by dealership twice under warrantee they did a grease pack on the steering column and it worked for about 6 months each time. my nephew worked for columbus ohio dealer as mechanic he told me to contact my dealer for service. he also stated there were several service bulletins out on this repair. when i spoke to the dealer where purchesed the service department stated i would have to pay for repairs. this is a gm problem and should be recalled by them. truck now has 50,000 miles on it and the problem first started around 10,000 miles. i had truck to an alignment shop where they state truck can not be aligned without repairs being made therefore this is definitely a safety hazard.  view

The junction block (fuse box) located behind the cover near the emergency brake pedal partially burned and melted at two pin connectors. the adjacent wiring harness connector also partially burned and melted. prior to the failure, the dash indicator for the defroster illuminated and remained illuminated even though the defroster was not turned on. when the car was turned off, the dash indicator for the defroster remained illuminated. the battery was dead the next day. after jump starting the van, it was driven to the local kia dealer where the machanic identified the junction block damage. kia has proposed to replace the junction block and entire dash wiring harness for $1,934.19. the cost of the junction block is $19.95, but the cost of the wiring harness is $1,067.65. the balance of the proposed cost is labor and taxes. kia does not provide the harness connector as a separate part. i called the kia help line and provided a verbal report to a customer service agent, and was told that kia can do nothing else to resolve the problem. i located 12 relevant odi complaints for 2003 sedonas and 2 relevant odi complaints for 2003 sedona ex models, all resulting in dash fires. i did not search other model years. it may have been my good fortune not to experience a vehicle fire, as well as compelling evidence related to the cause of these other reported fires.  view

2001 dodge 1500 4x4 total dashboard is cracked and big pieces falling out, started at 20,000 miles and would not fix. have 90,000 know and dodge can not tell me if it will effect my air-bag deployment on passenger side. joked to me saying have people ride in the back seat.  view
