1997 GMC C25 User Comment / Complaint

When i start up my trailblazer and drive off the headlights and dash lights flash and flicker. i have taken to the dealership twice for repairs and they find nothing wrong, and gave me a bulletin from gm that stated this is a normal operating characteristic due to a secondary air pump diagnostic routine, and that there is nothing to fix. i think this is wrong. the lights flash so much people think i am flashing my lights at them. if i sit and idle for 30 seconds or so, sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesn't (this was gm's "fix"). if it's cold i have to idle it for several minutes, and even then it doesn't always stop it. i have had to pull off to the side of the highway, stop my engine, start it again, wait several minutes, then merge back into traffic and just pray the lights didn't start flickering again. this should be made a recall and they should be forced to fix this. i have contacted them repeatedly and got nowhere with them.  view

Tl* - the contact called regarding the 2005 chrysler jeep liberty. the contact received recall 06v288000. the contact was number 165 on the waiting list. the contact has been on the list between 6-8 weeks. she had the vehicle inspected, and was told that the lower ball joint needed to be replaced. the current mileage was 26,000. there had been no failures to date.  view

Stability light and traction control light on saying need serviced, check engine light on, transmission slips from 1st into 2nd, and vehicle makes noise making turns. vehicle taken in for service but mechanic having trouble with codes. vehicle is 07 suburban with 961 miles.  view

Tl* - the contact stated that on 10/08/06 while d at a speed of 40 mph driver's front tire wheel studs broke off. the vehicle had an odometer reading of 16,002 miles on the vehicle at the time of the incident. the contact stated that on the day of this incident the weather was clear and so were the road conditions. the contact had the vehicle towed to dana motors in staten island, ny, and the dealership replaced 4 lug: nuts and 4 wheel studs. the contact stated that on 12/10/06 the vehicle would not accelerate. the vehicle was towed to dana motors ,and at that time the vehicle had 17,642 miles on it. the contact stated that the repair order stated that dealership replaced parts and gears. the dealership informed the contact that the transmission box was opened and found that the tray had pieces of metal in the transmission tray. ak the inside cargo light was not working, the windshield was leaking, the steering wheel would vibrate when the consumer reached a speed of 70 mph. updated 03/07/07  view

I was driving an 1996 audi a6 on highway 95 in florida at about 7pm on thursday march 8, 2007. traveling about 73 mph. the left front tires tread was separated from the tire itself. this caused me to dangerously swerve in traffic. i pulled to the side of the road and saw a great deal of damage done to the front left side of the car, the bumper and side paneling. i called the police but they were not cooperative and did not write an accident report since the damage was done to my own car by my own car. both front tires had to be replaced costing about $150 also there is an estimated $4000 worth of damage done to the car.  view

Tl* - the contact's vehicle was involved in rear end crash. the contact's vehicle stopped when the crash occurred,. during the crash the front passenger seat back which was unoccupied failed. the contact stated that the seat collapsed to a 60 degree angle from the vertical, and the only thing that stopped it from going all the way bac,k was the child seat behind it. the vehicle was currently at the body shop where it was being fixed. updated 03/07/07  view

Tl* - the contact stated that the check engine, and overdrive lights will turn on intermittently. this failure does not happen at any particular speed. the failure occurred at about 67,000 miles. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told he would need a new or rebuilt transmission. updated 03/07/07  view
