Tl*- the contact stated that the week of 1/1/07 the driver went to start a 2001 jeep cherokee sport when a loud noise was heard and vibrations felt. the contact took vehicle to dealership because the vehicle could not be driven. the dealership's service department informed her that the cam shaft was malfunctioning. the contact stated that the cam shaft was replaced and the contact does have the damaged parts. the dealership did inform the contact that this was not an isolated problem.  view

I have a 2005 buick terraza with 20,000 miles on it. recently when the temp has got cold (30 degrees) the service stability and the service traction lights have came on. after i drive the van, the next time i start the van the lights are usually gone but then when i have been driving straight on a dry road at about 45 mph or so and hit a bump the van would pull, decelerate and swerve for a few seconds and the service stability light would come on. this has happened 4 times. i took it to the dealer and they found 5 codes but they say they can't help them figure what is wrong and all they can do is drive my van around until it does it again and hope they get a code that will help them. the codes were c0253/c0870/c0460/c0196/c0187. i found other people on line who had similar problems with these vehicles and printed suggestions for the dealer to check(steering wheel sensor and frayed wires). the dealer then found a green and blue wire from the forward engine harness routed from the ebcm underneath the inlet air box were completely rubbed through. they rubbed against the transmission bolt. hopefully this will fix the problem. i guess you got to give some dealers help finding the problem with your vehicle. this is could be a problem with these type of gm vans and it could be very dangerous depending on what wires are frayed and when they malfunction the stable trak system could throw the van out of control which could lead to a deadly accident.  view

Purchased new 2004 jeep from dealer. within the first month of ownership, i began experiencing occasional, intermittent engine problems at start-up-- the engine would run very rough, shaking the vehicle. the service light in the dash would flash. if driven, the engine would stall unless the accelerator was continually pressed. after a few of these events, we discovered that, if turned off, after about 5 minutes, the engine would run normally. the service light would remain on for a few minutes (sometimes a half hour) and then turn off. this problem re-occurred intermittently, sometimes every month, & sometimes every couple months, usually in the morning at first startup, but sometimes when i left work in the evening to drive home. my salesman and the service manager knew of the problem. jeep dealer later said that the vehicle was simply in need of a complete tune-up. they did the tune up 6 months ago - may 2006. the problem has recurred again. i took the jeep in again. dealer reports that car is "running rough" but they can not find the problem.  view

Purchased a used 2004 jeep wrangler rubicon with 11000 miles on the odometer, after driving the vehicle for several months i noticed that the odometer seamed to be reading slow, so i had the odometer checked by a state trooper and found out that at 45 mph i was only moving at 40 mph. with further investigation i found that the tires and rims are not the right size for the vehicle. the tires that where on the jeep when i purchased it are p225/75r15, the manufacturer recommends lt245/75r16, is this vehicle safe to drive? the dealership where i purchased the jeep from refuses to make it right. would the 11000 miles on the odometer be right or could it be more?  view

My chevrolet 2500hd began making noise from the front end at 67,500 miles. the right front wheel bearing assembly failed, there was no accident involved. the worn assembly is available for inspection. according to the repair shop this a quite common failure in the 2500hd. had this been a catastrophic failure at highway speeds, the results very well could have been insurmountable. the assembly contains non grease sealed bearings that should not fail at this rate.  view

Three continental general tire ameritrak's have failed on my 2003 f250 supercab (tire tread separation) since jan. 2006 and non-responsive continental tire has failed to contact me, as they said they would, to expedite resolution of my claim! here are the actual facts: in jan 06, the first tire, front passenger, failed with tread separated from tire while i was driving on the highway. during dealer vehicle/tire damage inspection, it revealed the other front tire showed signs of tread separation. under warranty, the dealer repaired all body damage (over $3000.00) and replaced the two failed front tires. my vehicle had 9600 miles on it. the dealer did the right thing. on 10-26-06 at 1:33 pm the 3rd "general tire ameritrak" tire tread on my 2003 f250 supercab separated, causing over $3000.00 in body damage & at 16,194 miles on the vehicle/tires. on 11-20-06, continental tire, north carolina, received my claim (#6300003). on 11-27-06, continental tire received the failed tire. on 11-28-06, i e-mailed an inquiry to continental. on 11-29-06, i received a phone call and the unidentified female stated i should hear something within the next week. it is now 12-13-06 and i have heard nothing. my vehicle remains damaged, and it is unbelievable to me that continental is permitted to sell defective "general" tires and not expeditiously settle claims stemming from those defective tire failures. it's past time for continental to do the right thing and restore my vehicle back to pre-damage condition. since tire tread separation has been well-established, historically, continental needs to be held accountable for the after-affects of their defective products . these tires are dangerous!!! i was driving on both occasions. i could have been killed. continental is dragging their feet on settling the damages. these tires should not be on the market! how can continental conduct business as usual and not be held accountable for damages caused by failures in their product?  view
