Dt*: the contact stated while driving 65 mph on normal road conditions, the wheels locked up. the vehicle spun 180 degrees resulting in the vehicle facing the traffic. also while applying pressure to the brakes, it went all the way to the floor. the design of braking system was 4-wheel antilock. the nature of the failure was permanent. the failed part was available upon request and there was no repair invoice. the abs light illuminated after the incident occurred. the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, who determined that the abs module needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was notified.

Dt*: the contact stated while parked, the fuel tank filler neck was observed to be leaking under the back seat. also, a strong odor of gasoline was coming from the backseat. it was also observed that the vehicle consumed a great deal of gas. secondly, there was a slash in the rear tire on the passenger side due to debris and abrasion with the fuel tank. there were no warning signals prior to the incident. the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, who determined that there was a fuel leak on the tank top nipple. the fuel tank was replaced and the tire was realigned. the manufacturer was notified and refused to acknowledge that the vin # was not part of the nhtsa recall #02v026000. reimbursement was also denied.

I have a 2000 ford f250 super duty 4x4 7.3 diesel. while driving over a mountain pass on 11-4-06 the front end started shaking violently and i almost lost control of the vehicle. i managed to steer it to the side of the road where i discovered the left front hub assembly/ wheel bearing had failed and the tire and wheel were falling off the vehicle. the truck was towed to a large dealer where both front hub assemblies were replaced. these hub assembles are a sealed unit with no way of servicing them. this repair is very expensive( 450.00) per side for parts + labor. the dealer stated that this has been a problem with these trucks and couldn't understand why ford hasn't recalled the problem,as they alone have replaced close to 65 units and this is just one dealer. needless to say ford wouldn't stand behind the repair and i had to pay it myself. this is a very dangerous situation in that if this would have happened at highway speeds it would most certainty caused total loss of control of the vehicle. i have 4 friends and my brother who all have had this exact same problem and one,my brother, had damage to his vehicle when he lost control. this is the 2nd time this has happened to me and am perplexed why ford doesn't address this safety problem.

Dt*: the contact stated the driver side seat was loose on the floor base. the vehicle was inspected by an independent repair shop who determined the seat adjustor bracket that attached the seat to the seat base was fractured and needed to be welded back onto the base. the manufacturer was alerted.

Actually i have lived with this problem since approx. yr.2003 one day i adjusted the lever for the brights or indicator and it felt as if it disengaged and was loose from then on. it seems that the light switch which connects with the indicator signals, intermittently the left headlight would go in and out (must have replace it three times until my husband realized it wasn't the bulb but the switch seemed to have broken loose)until recently the indicator switch would shut out the lights once i complete a turn and the switch re-adjust in place. this would happen occasionally with the brights on also. it would vary and you never know when it may happen. now the switch for the brights are not working at all.

Dt*: the contact stated while traveling 35 mph on a dry straight road, the rear wheels locked up and the slip indicator light and alarm came on. the light went off, and the same thing occurred a second time. the dealership put the vehicle on the computer, but was unable to determine the problem.

1- there was not any symptom leading up to failure. 2- the failure was on the front passenger wheel. the weld on one of the control arms actually broke off the frame. as a result the wheel was allowed move in a different direction then the driver side wheel. this forced the vehicle off the opposite side of the road in a very immediate uncontrolled manner. 3- there was nothing done to correct this problem as of yet. dealer doesn't have any interest in fixing the vehicle unless we pay for it.
