1993 SUBARU GL User Comment / Complaint

Terrible odor from the air conditioning unit, i have brought this car back to the dealer on 3 occasions. they state they cleaned the air conditioning unit?? now after 2 weeks of having my car back the odor is back and worse. the dealer states that there was a problem with the drain plug, then the onboard computer, then they say they removed the entire unit and clean and disinfected it? the problem is still there. i am a very unhappy customer!!!  view

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 68 mph on a dry 4 lane highway, the driver attempted to change lanes to the left, and there was no reaction from the steering. the steering wheel was able to be turned, but the vehicle did not respond at all. the brakes were applied, however the vehicle collided with another truck, and crossed into a grass median which stopped the vehicle. a police report was taken at the scene. the vehicle was towed to a service dealer, who determined that the tie rod drag links had detached from the ball joint. the bolt remained intact, but the pressure bushing separated.  view

Cracked dashboard. no stress added to it. it just happened.  view

Speedometer sometimes reads 30 mph more then actual vehicle speed and sometimes reads less then actual vehicle speed. speedometer sometimes never gets above zero though vehicle is in motion.  view

2004 chevrolet silverado z71 w/ 44,300 miles is having problems with the speedometer. there is no way to tell how fast i am going. this is a very dangerous ans widespread problem with the newer gms.  view

I own a 2005 volkswagen bettle convertiable. the passenger side window "exploded" making a very loud noise,while my wife was driving it in our subdivision. this same window had been repaired about 6 months prior because it was rattling. it was repaired by the dealer. the morning the window exploded was the coldest morning since it had been repaired-39 degrees. i car had been parked in our garage that evening. the garage was much warmer than the outside ambient air. within one minute of my wife driving the car from the garage the window exploded. had she been on a major road this could have turned into a serious accident. i think volkswagen is having problems with their side windows rattling on thier convertible models. the drivers side window has started to rattle. this incident may have something to do with the manner the dealer fixed it from rattling.  view

On friday october 20, 2006. my son and 3 friends were leaving a friends house. when my son applied his brake to slow, the brakes failed. when they failed the engine revved completely up, throttled out and shut down the vehicle. he of course had no brakes, but now no steering, and the engine was off. not having any control, the vehicle hit a loose rock, slid into a ditch which then sent them into a series of rollovers no less than 5 no more then 7. the airbags did not deploy. when they landed 3 of the 4 doors were jammed shut. as they climb out of the vehicle, they noticed it was burning. it burned from behind the dash through the engine. i have pictures if you would like to see. the worst injury at the time was my son's shoulder, they were concerned it had a worse tear. nothing can be done to fix this vehicle. i have notified chevy and gm. i am also talking to an attorney next week. the service brake hydraulic antilock recall has caused me concern. we don't know if it was ever taken for it's repair. now gm can't even find or trace yet the vin number. he had only had it 2 weeks when we had to put it in the shop because it had to be jumped to start. then a week and a half almost 2 weeks later the brakes go out. something major went wrong, and he hadn't even had it 30 days yet. it could have killed 4 kids. i want to know what malfunctioned.  view

On august 13, 2006, my wife was driving our 2002 saab 9-3 convertible when the engine caught fire. she was able to get out of the car safely, but the car was destroyed. investigations by international motors (falls church, va) after the event showed that the transmission had disintegrated and transmission fluid has sprayed throughout the engine compartment causing the fire.  view

This problem is concerning a 2002 jeep liberty sport 4x4 3.7lt. during a slow left turn the driver side front spindle and top ball joint failed. i am the original owner of this vehicle. this vehicle has never been off road or driven roughly, it has only seen highways and local municipal roads. i believe that the spindle and top ball joint in question were defective. within weeks of purchasing this vehicle i returned to a service center with the complaint of the thumping noise from the front end when making turns(have reciept). i was told that there was no problem, the dealer could not duplicate the problem. i complied with the first lower ball joint recall and now the second recall. i attempted to bring my concern to the manufacturer although they were unwilling to listen. i am truely concerned with the front end of the jeep liberty. if my wife would have been on the interstate at 55mph the vehicle would have rolled without question. please forward my concern to all applicable parties and address this with the manufacturer. without investigation of these component falures life and property could be at risk.  view
