10am, driving at a low rate of speed, slowing to turn left, i suddenly lost power steering and had to manual make the turn (very difficult). the van was also hesitating, like it would stall. i regained full power and power steering after 10 seconds +/-. noon, same day, accellerating <35mph, uphill, same problem occurred with the exception that after power steering failure, i completely stalled in the road and had to restart the vehicle. brought to dealership wednesday. they were unable to find the problem (no code) or duplicate the problem. (also an issue with an intermittent problem with the power side door popping off but not power opening). both electrical issues have occured since the five star dealership corrected an electrical problem with my power gatelift popping off but not power opening) i have called chrysler directly about technical service bulletins issued on both items and the advance service information 02-018/nhtsa#10000327 relating to the problem with the power side door and/or liftgate. even with providing this information, the problem cannot be fixed until they get a "code". i have exhausted my progress with chrysler in their assistance with the proper diagnosis of the problem so i could pay to have the correct component replaced. my option is to pay $50 per diagnostic check by the dealer regardless of whether the vehicle "codes" the problem and no assurances as to the number of diagnostic checks it may take to produce the "code", so i filed a complaint with chrysler customer assistance "which is handled in house". when asked what department handles complaints, i was told " chrysler customer assistance". i clarified that is the same department title as to which i was speaking with, it was explained that customer assistance has many departments, which are not given titles, and that they are not allowed to provide names of whom would be handling the complaint, nor would anyone follow up with me. the circles begins!  view

I own a 2001 saturn l200 which i bought in 2003 used. i was driving on a very busy 6 lane major road when my car suddenly died and could not be restarted. i was able to pull into the right lane before rolling to a stop, but caused a major hazard sitting in the road with cars having to go around me. we had the car towed and found it was the timing chain that had broken, also damaging several valves in the process. the repair was completed after 12 days at a cost to me of $2700. i also had to rent a car for the time my car was being fixed at a cost of several hundred dollars. i had to take a loan to pay for the repair and rental. in doing a little research, i found that many, many saturn l200's have had the same problem at various mileage marks. i have only 56,000 miles on my car and up until now, have had no other problems with the car, but this was major. i, like the other owners with the same problem, have kept my oil changed and kept up the maintenance on this car. i understand there was an investigation launched by the nhtsa which was closed. i have seen at least 45 pages of complains on the internet and wonder if anything is being done. please do not wait until the death toll is significant to address this problem. thank you.  view

The instrument cluster panel on my s500 2000 mercedes benz lost its lighting and then lost all its functions. mercedes has recalled 36,000 s500 2000 for this problem but my vehicle is not included in the recall. by their own admission, this problem constitutes a safety issue and costs approximately 2000 dollars to correct. i had to pay the money because my vehicle is not covered in the recall. obviously, it should be. i had the cluster replaced as it was unsafe to drive under the conditions.  view

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled. it was maneuvered off the road and restarted however, the vehicle would not accelerate past 20 mph and stalled again when the brake pedal was depressed. the vehicle was towed to the dealer who determined the pcm, six ignition coils and six spark plugs needed to be replaced.  view

Dt*: the contact stated while parked in a driveway unloading the vehicle, the rear gate hinges fractured and the glass dropped. the manufacturer was contacted, and informed there was no recall for this defect. the contact expressed concern because the hinges held the glass and the incident could happen while driving affecting other vehicles on the road.  view

Dt*: the contact stated while the vehicle was stopped at red light, upon applying the accelerator pedal; the vehicle lurched forward at a speed of 75 mph without warning. the contact placed the vehicle in neutral, which caused the vehicle to jerk and stop. the vehicle was inspected by a dealer who determined the throttle sensor and throttle body needed to be replaced. after the replacement, the problem persisted. the vehicle was again inspected by the dealer who duplicated the problem, yet attributed the sudden acceleration to the floor mat touching the accelerator pedal. afterwards, the sudden acceleration persisted. the manufacturer was not alerted.  view
