In august, my wife and i noticed our 2001 toyota camry le made a noise like it was missing on one cylinder. we watched to see if the problem persisted. we were still under our extended warranty and took the vehicle to a local mechanic we trust. he discovered the middle valves were stuck or sticking in the valve sleeve, causing the "mis-firing" sound we heard. further, we were told the remedy was to have the head machined, replace the damaged sleeves and this would resolve the problem. in asking another mechanic about the issue, we learned this is a common flaw in the 4 cylinder camry engine. in fact, our mechanic had 3 separate cars of the same age in for the same exact repair in a 2 week period. this seems a little deceptive, especially as you search the internet to discover there are several customers who found this flaw long after their warranty expired. we buy vehicles with the intent to keep them; we focus on what we believe to be quality manufacturers with a quality product. this lack of follow-through and care for the customer is a blatant disregard of the trust placed in their hands. technically, we are only out very minor fees and the time it took to deal with the matter. this was not a consumer product, where the result is annoyance and frustration, but it was a mode of transport, carrying our lives on a daily basis. how can a company carelessly disregard the impact of its' products construction with so much on the line everytime it is used? i am very disappointed in toyota, especially in light of the recent news about drops in product quality. as they focus on the bottom line, little concern is shown to the consumer who risks a lot.

Bought a 2003 nissan 350z used from keyes nissan of woodland hills,ca. tiptronic (auto/semi-manual) transmission needed to be replaced within 45 days. now a whining noise that is still not fixed as well as excessive heat from shifter area that causes passengers to sweat & scalding hot to touch. car hasn't seemed to run right since. seems every 350z owner has the same atypical problems-tire feathering, transmissions replaced, rear axles, power window motors fail(the last 2 are my next trip to the dealer). nissan needs to fix our nightmare. nissan support is nonexistent as well, which makes your ordeal all the more miserable.

After driving on a highway at 55+mph, for more than a half hour, if you then get into stop and go or city traffic, and you are stopped, if you press on the accelerator, the car will not respond for 5-10 seconds, then will lunge forward. this is not only annoying, it is so dangerous. now that i am aware of it, i try to leave lots of space between me and the car in front of me (not always possible in the city). it only seems to happen under the conditions described above. i noticed this happening a little over a year after purchasing my murano.

After several months of problems with my power seat memory system(my seats would switch to a setting that was not programmed by myself), i contacted my dealer and advised them of my situation. this unwanted adjustment could be replicated by pressing the unlock button on my fob. i began unlocking my van with my key. i advised my dealer again. this past june, while operating my van onto a freeway, the seat began to change positions and the mirrors readjusted. my children and a family friend observed this action as it occurred. i grabbed hold of the wheel and readjusted all of the above mentioned items while still maintaining control. this process has recurred on at least five occasions. upon return from our vacation, i notified the dealer and made an appointment. after several hours at the dealership, they stated that my options were to disconnect the auto-setting or return the vehicle when a particular computer was returned to them. my visit cost me several hours and a bill of over $98.00. currently i am able to manually adjust the seat and mirror.
