The vti transmission in my 2003 saturn vue has failed repeatedly and without warning, usually on highways at high speeds. suddenly, the transmission will disengage and the car cannot be driven. saturn has now fixed the problem five times in 38,000 miles and most recently admitted that it did not know why this failure occurred and did not know if the repairs it made would fix the problem. the incident date noted below is the most recent date this occurred. when these incidents occur, sometimes the transmission will reset after turning the car off and restarting it. but other times, the vehicle has required towing to the dealership. we are concerned about the ongoing safety and reliability of this car, as the consequences of one of these unannounced failures could be catastrophic. so far, we have been lucky that no injury or accident has occurred.

We have contacted cadillac and they tell us there is no fix for this problem. the dealer has had the car for testing two times for several days. rich tretheway, the head technician at the weaver dealership in grass valley who drove my car and then explained to us what the car does. here is what the car does from a driving point of view. when going down hill or trying to slow down, when the car reaches about 25 miles per hour or about 1000 rpm, it then gives itself gas which cause a feeling that one would have if the cruise control was on (it is not). that is; that the car surges forward going up about 600 or 700 rpm. this occurs when i have shifted the car down to 1st or 2nd. since i live in an area with many hills this happens every time i drive. i shift down to keep the car from going excessively fast down the hills. when i am driving and want to take a curve at 20 to 25 miles per hour, the car many times surges forward while my foot is off the throttle; i have to use the brake continually to get around the curves and down hills at a slow enough speed to be safe. this surging happened once in a parking lot as we were trying to park. rich was not able to reproduce this problem, but was able to reproduce the other surging problem. the cure for this is as i understand it from rich and one of the owners of weaver is to always drive in overdrive and use the brake instead of shifting down. it also does this in overdrive. i can understand that if there is no mechanical repair that general motors has made for this car then something has to be done to be helpful to us.

I have a 2000 honda accord with only 50,000 miles and the sensor system in the front passenger seat that detects whether a person is properly seated is defective because my srs warning light constantly stays on during vehicle operation. i am utterly disappointed given its early failure rate since i have been a loyal honda/acura customer for a very long time. i hope there is a recall or extended warranty to cover this problem. it appears many 2000-2001 accords/3.2tl have this problem.

While driving my 2001 ford crown victoria lx 4.6l v8 on may 23rd, i heard a loud boom from under the hood and a sudden loss of power. i took it to a mechanic and he said that the number 3 spark plug had blown out of the cylinder head. he charged me over 250.00 to fix it. he said that he sees this same thing on this particular motor about 8 times per year. when researching on the internet i found numerous other people across the united states that have run into the exact same thing, only to be told by ford and repair technicians of ford that there is not a problem. see website below where you will find hundreds of stories from consumers from all across the country: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/ford_spark.html the shop that i took it to put in a heli-coil and drilled out the aluminum head. it did it 2 more times. the 3rd time he fixed it it took. that was about 1500 miles ago. i am still waiting on it to happen again. i was traveling on router 695 (baltimore beltway) at the time of the first and second occurrence. i was in the fast lane and all of a sudden i lost about 40% of my power. i had to limp across 4 lanes of traffic and pull over to find out what in the heck happened. it did not cause an accident or any injury to myself.....but it certainly could have.

I was informed that i am currently driving on a recall engine and no one seems to know how the problem will be addressed. i just purchased this 2006 nissan altima not even 2 months ago and already there is a recall on the motor in regards to oil consumption. however nissan wants to ensure that the oil level is being maintained at a correct level in which i was informed that i needed to go to the dealer every 700 miles. why???? do you know how much of an inconvenience that is to individuals. give me a break. this problem has to do with the engine which is being explained that it has to be replaced. when??? how long do we have to put our lives on hold for nissan. this is a multi-million dollar company and they have sold 85,000 defective units. why should i pay a car note on a vehicle that is defective and no action is being taken to correct the problem. i feel more communication is needed asap. please advise.

I was just reading the complaints & thought i would submit a few of my own. gas fillling is always a task as tank always seems to "overflow" & gas sprays out everywhere. i was told it is because of the type of filler line that gm uses. headlights constantly going from normal to dim, to dimmer, then back to normal, regardless of driving conditions. saw the one from the person being shocked, this too has always happened to me since the first day i bought the trailblazer. if i touch the metal of the door upon exiting the vehicle theres a large jolt from static electricity i assume. the arc from this jolt is very visible & i estimate it to 2 inches in length at times (longer your in the vehilce...bigger the arc). all the rubber trim on the backhath has come off. plastic lining used on fenderwells constantly coming loose & must be reatached. carpet around pedals has all come loose. i bought this vehicle nov. 1 2004 & it is hardly been driven with only 6,000 miles yet seems to be falling apart already.
