1992 FORD LTD User Comment / Complaint

Defective b. f goodrich long trail ta tires (265r60 18) ford f150 lariat appear to have a design defect causing a very harsh ride & shuddering upon stopping. when attempting to stop in the rain, the shuddering caused the anti lock brake module to malfunction and resulted in loss of control of the vehicle. ford is aware of the tire defect (a letter was received) yet has declined to replace the tires.  view

I was stopped by police due to the fact that my parking/running lights were not working. the signals and stop lights worked fine. my 2002 dodge ram is at the garage. they found the circuit board (power distribution center) under the fuse box is burned out. cost from dodge, $400.00. i think this is a safety issue, there is no indication that the light went out from the cab. the dash lights worked and the head lights worked. the garage informed me that is happening a lot to other dodge rams.  view

Recurring problems with electric power steering system. constant noises and deteriorating steering condition. purchased vehicle in march and have had it serviced for related problem 3 times in 3 months.  view

Dt*: the contact stated the chrome on the wheels flake off. as a result, there is a loss of air. when this first occurred air was added once a week now air must be added daily. this occurs on all four wheels however the rear is worse. the vehicle was taken to the dealership a couple of years ago under warranty and something was added around the wheels to seal off the leak. since this the tires were replaced and rotated. the dealership has not been alerted again.  view

Dt*: the contact stated the air bag light remains illuminated. the contact has taken the vehicle to the dealership three times. today will be the fourth time the vehicle has been to the dealership. every time the vehicle has been to the dealership, the light is reset, but the light continues to illuminate. the contact is concerned the air bags are not working properly.  view

Interior components break easily: driver's recliner handle sheared off, driver's visor hinge snapped, windshield defrost grille fractured.  view

Land rover 2001 discovery ii... i have illumination of hill descent control, abs, traction control dash warning lights... caused by a malfunctioning sensor or modulator...dealers don't even know what it is. web search shows this to be a common problem with this vehicle, with a very costly expense to repair and dealers are replacing modulators at a $2000 plus cost and the problem doesn't go away! i have loss of traction control, anti-lock brakes still work...don't know about hill descent control. no consequences yet, no repairs yet...hope there will be a recall...can't afford to have vehicle repaired and it's no longer under warranty.  view

Timing chain failure, vehicle died while driving on highway.  view

Dt*: the contact stated while making a left turn at 5mph the vehicle suddenly accelerated without warning. after releasing the accelerator and applying the brake the problem stopped. the vehicle was not inspected.  view
