1997 INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER 4700 User Comment / Complaint

Car does not start! when starting, a loud clicking noise happens, and engine will not start. need a jump start often. have brought it to dealer they cannot find anything wrong.  view

Each rear tail light assembly circuit board had to be replaced. these occurred at different times (approximately 6 months apart). now, about a year later, the right rear needs to be replaced again. this was found due to the blinker and brake light failing, so i switched the bulb from the other side, with the exact same results, so i know it is the circuit and not a bad bulb.  view

This started out with a tire almost being flat. pumped up the tire at home and took vehicle to a tire shop to be repaired. when the shop took the tire off the truck, they told me the tire is no good, it is leaking through the sidewall. they put my spare on and i went to the goodyear dealer in my town. the goodyear dealer looked at the leak through the sidewall and removed the tire from the rim. there was 2 , 2 inch cuts on the inside of the tire sidewall (1 at the leak) of this tire that he could not explain. he told me a new tire was $180.00 and i asked him to contact goodyear corporate because there is hardly any wear/miles on these tires. he contacted goodyear and 3 days later they said they would replace the tire for $94.00. this tire had 4/32 worn off from it!!! while waiting for goodyear corporate to reply to the local goodyear dealer i took the truck to my local dodge dealer to have them raise the truck on the hoist to check the rest of the tires for a slight bulge on the inner sidewall because of fear of these tires blowing out the sidewall at highway speeds and causing a fatality! they did not see any but before i left they told me to schedule an appointment to get both outer tie rod ends and the left (driver) side lower ball joint replaced! this vehicle was purchased new on 12-31-2003, has 26,600 miles on it and has always been serviced at this dealer.parts and labor were covered by warranty but what is going to fail next?  view

Vehicle: 2005 saturn ion red line i was driving in columbus, oh area to meet some friends and i had stopped at a red light. when i left the red light i went through the gears to get up to speed and as i came to 4th gear the shifter would not go in. so i let out the clutch and tried to go back in. as i pressed the clutch pedal again it immediately fell to the floor with no pressure on the pedal at all and i could not select any gears. then the vehicle started to vibrate really bad so i pulled over at the walgreen's a few yards away. when i came to a stop i noticed hydraulic fluid leaking from the car and it was shaking badly. so i called my friends and they came to look. my clutch had given up but we were not sure how badly. we had the vehicle towed to a repair shop nearby that also specialized in these vehicles. the friction disc in the clutch had ripped completely apart which in turn scored and warped the flywheel. this also caused the slave cylinder to over extend which is where the fluid leaked from and debris flying around within the bellhousing had contacted the fluid feed line to the slave cylinder and punctured a hole in it. new parts were ordered to repair the vehicle and they consisted of this: 1 new flywheel, 1 new clutch friction disc, 1 new clutch pressure plate, 6 new clutch plate to flywheel bolts, 1 new slave cylinder, 1 new throw out bearing, 1 new clutch fluid feed line, 5 quarts of hydraulic fluid, and 1 quart of transmission fluid. the total labor charged was for 8 hours of work. the total repair costs for labor and parts came to $1,752. i am not the only owner of this platform of vehicle to experience clutch failure issues. i do still have the old parts for inspection. i upgraded to newer, stronger parts to avoid this happening again in 4,500 miles which is where this happened. 4,500 miles on the odometer. here is the visual of what happened. http://www.intense-racing.com/pics/chrisd/page_01.htm.  view

2002 oldsmobile alero. at 57,000 miles turn signals are occasionally inoperative. fuses were changed and they still fail on occasion. identical problems resulted in the recalls of the 2000 and 2001 olds aleros. upon reviewing internet web sites i discovered that there are many other alero owners whom are having the same problem. a temporary solution until the hazard switch can be replaced is to slap the dashboard near the hazard switch to make it operable. the inability to alert other drivers of the intent to change lanes, or make turns is a safety issue.  view

When driving out of my parking lot, two pieces of equipment fell off of my vehicle. one looked like a belt and the other a small drum. my automatic transmission would no longer function and i was forced to coast into a parking spot in the lot.  view

Fax e-mail from (mt) re defective computer in their 2003 honda crv, causes the engine light to come on. a computer read out indicated that al four cylinders were misfiring.  view
