2001 CHEVROLET CAMARO User Comment / Complaint

My 2001 camaro with less than 37k miles was taken to the dealership for new brakes. no reason i took car to dealership other than i wanted new brakes though nothing squeaked & i had no trouble. i did not expect to be told i needed new rotors as the dealership informed me the current rotors were too thin and i needed to replace them as well as the pads and brake linings. i was stunned as the car is hardly driven but a mere 8 miles round trip to work & back the last two years. i would have thought the other california dealership car was taken too just 7 months prior for brake inspection at 33,713 would have advised of impending issue? in reviewing the brake inspection paperwork dated 7/24/05 i clearly noticed the techs lack of attention to even filling in the proper boxes ie: brake linings. the $1100 spent to fix problem is not an issue. its the safety issue! love the car & have had 3 (95,97 & 2001) but am leary to drive it with what appears to be an engineering problem with rotor/pads and gm is ignoring it? ford ignored their problems with tires for years and how many people died?
