Dt: the contact stated while driving at 50 mph there was vibration in the front end of vehicle. the dealer made numerous attempts to correct the problem. the repairs consisted of: balancing the tires on two different occasions, replacement of the tires and wheels, balancing of the new tires, and replacement of the driveshaft. after these attempts were made, the dealer came to the conclusion that the vibration was normal for this type of vehicle. updated 12/27/05.  view

Dt: the contact stated while driving the back lighting for the gauge cluster did not come on, until the vehicle was warm. the mileage was not recorded properly. the fuel gauge malfunctioned,causing the vehicle to run out of gasoline. also, the headlights did no stay lighted in the darkness, and nothing on the dashboard was working correctly. the vehicle was taken to a dealership for inspection, and they determined the circuit board needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was contacted. no repairs were made. updated 01/23/06.  view

Dt: the contact stated a popping and cracking noise from the steering when turning the steering wheel at low speeds. the contacted took the vehicle to the dealer. although the dealer did not inspect the vehicle he suggested replacing the mid shaft of the steering.  view

Dt: the contact received nhtsa recall campaign id # 05v017000, concerning vehicle speed control: cruise control. he took the vehicle to dealer for service. the dealer did not disconnect the switch. he had to make two trips to the dealer before they disconnected the switch. updated 12/27/05.  view

Dt: the contact states the headlights on his 2005 tiffin alegro motor home were not bright enough to see properly. when the high beams were on the low beams did not stay on as well. he called the dealership, and they indicated the bulbs were being replaced with different bulbs bought at a local store. the contact did not think this will correct the problem. updated 12/27/05.  view

Dt: the contact stated airbag light illuminated intermittently, and the power door lock on the driver's side stopped working. he took the vehicle to an independent repair shop who performed a diagnostic test. no codes were found by the diagnostic test. upon further inspection, condensed water from the air conditioning had leaked around the wiring and under the carpet on the front floor. the mechanic determined the water had shorted out the power door lock and affected the airbag wiring as well. the mechanic replaced the wire for the door lock assembly, however no repairs were made to the airbag wiring at that time. updated 12/27/05.  view

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle temperature gage elevated while driving at normal highway speeds and the engine suddenly shut down. the vehicle had an odor of something burning like plastic. the vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop. the independent mechanic discovered exposed wires leading to the fan and engine. the radiator was flushed, engine performance enhancer was added, spark plugs were replaced, but the exposed wiring was not repaired. the independent mechanic discovered a recall concerning the fan wiring. the vehicle remained parked for two weeks before it was taken to a local service dealer. the dealer began working on obtaining authorization for the recall remedy, but the manufacturer would not authorize the recall remedy because of the age of the vehicle. the contact is the second owner of the vehicle, but the original owner did not receive a recall letter. therefore the vehicle was never taken to a service dealer for repairs. there is a nhtsa recall, # 00v367000, regarding the engine and engine cooling. the vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the time restrictions of the recall remedy.  view
