Hi, i want to report a control arm failure on my 2004 mazda rx-8 that resulted in an accident and minor injury. i was driving the car on december 7 in oklahoma city and after completing a right hand turn at approximately 30 mph, i was accelerating away when the right front control arm separated at the ball joint resulting in loss of control. the car spun around and went over a 10" curb with all four wheels and struck a highway sign. i suffered a jammed right thumb and hyper-extended right shoulder, with no medical attention needed. the vehicle was towed to bob moore mazda in edmond oklahoma where it remains with parts on back order. interestingly the vehicle had just been to the dealer on or about october 15 and the inspection recall on the control arms was performed. i personally think that the recall should be replacement of all suspect control arms and not just an "inspection.  view

Dt: the contact complained about several problems with vehicle. first, the accelerator pedal stuck. the dealer cleaned the throttle body which seemed to solve the problem. the vehicle would sometimes surge forward. she thought the surging was related to apparent transmission problems. she finally had the transmission rebuilt. part of the cost was covered under the extended warranty. secondly, the seat belt in the middle row did not retract correctly. the dealer could not duplicate the problem. therefore, no repairs were made to the seat belt. thirdly, the left rear door actuator had to be replaced because the power locks were not working. fourthly, the rear passenger child safety lock did not work properly. once the child safety lock was deactivated, and the door handle was raised from the inside, the child safety lock activated. the contact's husband corrected this problem by taking apart the lock and cleaning it. she had to push very hard on the exterior key pad to get it to work. the dealer did not think this was a problem since she was able to get it to work eventually. lastly, the right front power window worked intermittently. the dealer could not duplicate the problem, and no repair was made.  view

I was driving home @ 12am had about 76 miles to go i heard a little bit of knocking i was trying to pull over and all of a sudden everything shut down and locked up. i was standing on the brakes and hanging on to the steering wheel trying to get across a lane and off to the side of the road and coast to a safe area. with no warning lights or warning what so ever my vehicle's engine seized and it was over that fast. i have maintained my vehicle with oil changes and now they are saying i had a sudden loss of oil and was lacking lubrication and rod # 1 broke and # 6 in wedged in the block and something else. hello when they took the engine apart there was 2.5 quarts in the pan and the rest on the engine what do you mean lack of lubrication. they said this was an unusual circumstance and i have to come up with about 4500 to fix it. get this i bought the extended warranty from honda care (apco for the used vehicles) they said it is unfortunate this happened to you but we will not cover it! this is a mystery and no one understands what happened but i have read numerous complaint on message boards and this is not an unusual problem. i don't recommend isuzu to anyone after all i have read. also honda care (apco)for used cars they will find a way to tell you no not there problem. second time they will not cover something for me. i paid $1000 for the warranty and all they can say is sorry for your loss! the dealership is trying and trying to get them to honor it and apco wants what the defected part that caused failure. nobody knows! dealership is great and a very big dealership @ that and they seem to care about me and my situation and not just telling me to go away. great people 2nd car i got from them. dealership who sells this extended warranties believe this is ridiculous and feel it should be fixed.  view

I purchased my 1999 chrysler 300m in april 2001 it had 24000.00 miles. within the 6 months i noticed a problem with the rack and pinion steering and took it back to the dealership i purchased it from to get it replaced. about 6 months ago i started having problems with the rack and pinion system again but everytime i took it to be diagnosed they kept telling me to changed the tires or have the tires balanced or i need a wheel alignment. the problem continued until last weekend dec 17, 2005 when the entire wheel broke off from the axle, had it not happened as my wife was about to pull out of our apartment complex it would have happen on the highway which is about a 1000 feet from our apartment which is where she was headed. i've been reading the email boards and i understand a lot of chrysler 1999 300m are having the similar problems. i started noticing it when my car was traveling about 65 to 70 mph and the wheels would vibrate, and when going over bumps there would be a clumping nose coming from the front wheels. also when making turns it seems the wheel would loose traction when it's wet.  view

Dt: the contact stated the fuel injection system failed in the diesel truck. the engine intermittently came to complete stop while driving at 50-60 mph or while the engine was idling. the dealer changed the electronic diesel control, but the problem recurred. the engine was restarted when the truck came to complete stop.  view

#1. 2004 tacoma dbl cab trd: i'm on my 3rd set of rotors and drums at just 40,000 miles. each set of rotors warped at just over 10,000 miles causing the expected pulsing and bouncing. i'm expecting the 3rd set to do the same. #2. since about 10,000 miles, i have experienced a "thumping" with a corresponding jolt of the gear shift upon finishing a breaking cycle. this also happens occasionally when releasing the foot brake. sometimes it is quite loud and violent. i am aware that all the late model automatics do this. the factory has acknowledged that there is a problem because their "fix" was to drill a hole in the two-piece drive shaft to "vent" the trapped air. this very temporarily solved the problem. again today, the dealer acknowledged the "thump" and told me that this is "the way the truck is supposed to operate" and that i should "change my braking habits". on a 15 minute test drive it probably doesn't seem too bad. but i have to drive the vehicle all the time and it is very annoying (and this was not happening when i test drove the vehicle before i purchased it). perhaps this is not a "safety" issue, but it is insulting to be told that this is "normal". they must think i'm an idiot or something. just because all the late model tacomas do it, does not make it right! it's so arrogant for them to expect us to live with this defect in design. i also believe that this same problem is related to the sometimes violent shifts especially from 1st to 2nd gear. #3. there is also a vibration that comes up through the steering wheel at about 40 miles per hour. it is the frequency of the drive shaft, not the tires. i can always tell when i'm at 40 mph without even looking at the speedometer.  view
