1990 BMW 735 User Comment / Complaint

Dt: the consumer stated that there was a nhtsa engineering analysis ea05020 concerning the engine and engine cooling fan. the consumer's vehicle manifested the same problems as indicated in this analysis. the fan of the motor exploded, resulting in extensive damage to the radiator. the vehicle was towed to a dealership, where it is currently being repaired for this problem. (11/23/05) the steering was noisy and would grind on high idle, the vehicle would shake when braking due to the front disc pads wearing low and the front rotors and the pinion seal leaked.  view

I'm complaining about a car seat i was given while renting a car from hertz at the islip ny airport location. the brand of car seat was century. the car seat failed to meet certain safety requirements, for instance the shoulder strap could not be adjusted to fit the baby in a snug manner, it was either too loose or too tight. second the car seat was installed improperly causing the base to move from side to side.  view

Mid cabin seat belts will not retract on honda odyssey 2003 model. have had the belts fixed twice and still having the same problem.  view

Ea05008 - tailgate cables cracking & breaking; do not support weight of load on tailgate in transit and leave possibility for gate to become detached and fall off.  view

Dt: the contact stated a light on the dashboard illuminated, the owner's manual stated it was a battery not charging properly light. later in the day, the dashboard lights failed, and the vehicle lost all electrical power. the engine continued to run for approximately one minute. the vehicle was towed to the dealership. they found it was a problem with the alternator, and the alternator is being replaced.  view

Dt: the contact states there is a nhtsa recall campaign 05v388000 concerning the vehicle speed control:cruise control. this vehicle manifests the same problems as indicated in the recall, but it is not included in the recall due to vin. the contact repaired the vehicle at his own expense.  view

Dt: the contact stated while driving the front post of the driver's side seat broke. this caused him to fall into the back seat. the vehicle was taken to the dealership and is currently being repaired.  view

Cold engine start-up knock. i own a 2002 silverado z71 with the 4.8 engine. the engine has had cold start-up knock since i have owned it. i have asked dealers about it and have been told it is normal. i build engines for and own to drag cars. one is an et footbrake car with a mild 350 ci small block chevy. the other is a 48 fiat altered with a 434 ci small block chevy stroker. both have forged pistons and neither has the cold piston noise that this bone stock 4.8 has. i currently have 39,139 miles on my truck and want it to last as long as possible. under the current circumstances, i don't think it will last much longer before it cracks a piston skirt or severely damages the cylinder walls. it is my intention to contact chevrolet in the next couple of days but after reading the complaints on this site, i am prepared to be told the same as the dealer told me. i am also looking into the class action suit approach to get a remedie to the problem. another issue is the brakes. the truck has 4 wheel disk and stops like it has four wheel drums without power?? i owned a 97 sivlverado that had brakes that worked the same. you would think that a truck that cost 30,000 dollars would be a little better constructed.  view

Dt:the contact stated the dashboard light kept going out. the vehicle has been in repair shop four times for the same problem. the contact was on her way to the dealership to pick up the vehicle and was unsure if the problem had been corrected.  view
