1995 GMC G SERIES User Comment / Complaint

My car was kept up to date on maintenance and recalls. approximately 2 days before my accident, my husband experienced a slight delay in brake response on one occasion while driving. he checked all fluids and looked for leaks. everything seemed good. no indicator lights or warning lights indicated a problem. on the day of my accident, i drove to work and most of the way home. i was less than a mile from my destination when i applied my brakes to make a 90 degree turn. this is the first and only time that i had knowledge of a total loss of brakes, with no indicator or warning lights being activated to alert me of a brake problem. as a result, i crashed into a utility pole, injuring myself and my passenger. my 2000 ford focus se is totaled.  view

I just bought a new 2005 dodge magnum 1500 ram long bed from the dealer in november 2005. after the second day of driving on the highway i noticed the truck vibrated a lot at around 65 mph. i returned the truck to get the tires balanced at the dealer and they said that tires needed no balancing and the shaking was fixed. the next day going to work the shaking started at around 63 mph and i returned to the dealer and test drove with mechanic and they balanced the tires. this time one tire was found unbalanced and was told that these truck shake at those speeds and when there is less than 300 pounds on the bed. i made another appointment so that they could do more tests and test drive. same thing was said. they said everything was normal and nothing could be done and that i need to put 300 plus pounds on the bed to fix the problem. i called the 1-800 customer service for the manufacturer and they called the dealer and told me to go and make another appointment. i went to the dealer the next business day and the service department said that there was no need for any further appointment and there was nothing to be done as those long beds and model shake that way with less than 300 pound on the bed. i could not get another appointment or go on a test drive. at this point i think that is a safety issue because if you were to go on a long trip, and most highways and interstate have speeds of 60 and above, you would not be able to look through the mirrors to merge into lanes or see other cars if the truck is shaking. if you are driving to work and the passenger puts a drink in the cup holder, and you are on the highway, and if the drink spills because of the shaking would that cause a shortage and /or distraction. it would be a safety issue to have to load and unload the 300 plus pounds of whatever from the bed when you have to load plywood or anything that require the dimension of the bed.  view

The safety supports for the bedroom slide failed due to their weak construction causing the slide to malfunction and possibly fall out on the highway.  view

I bought a 2003 jayco firenza that was involved in recall 03v256000 the dealer said it was done however it was not fully complied with i contacted the manufacturer and they took no action.  view

1997 k 2500 truck problem with engine stalling and surging will stall at high speeds and with hydro boost there are only 10 % braking power this has happened many times with each time a failure of a pmd box on engine that the dealer says is a major problem since 1994 i have had replaced 4 times with the result the same a dangerously close call when the vehicle surges in to traffic or the brakes fail when the engine stalls after looking the dealer was pushed buy extended the warranty on the oem part but nothing has been done to repair the risk of driving after i leave the dealer and a failure happens i have to believe this is a problem across the country and accident other than mine must have happened the dealer and the stanadine dealer in toledo admit these are a continuing problems that is not going away. the safety concern is real and must be addressed before some one if not already gets killed in an accident.  view

Dt: contact stated the engine failed while driving the vehicle. he contacted the dealer, and they claimed it happened due to the contact's error on oil changes. the transmission failed as well. there were no prior warnings concerning the failures. the vehicle was serviced on a regular basis. the contact provided documentation for oil changes. the transmission was replaced under warrant. however, the engine will not be repaired due to the excessive expense.  view

About 1700 hrs on 21 nov 05, my 2005 f250 super duty was broken into and i had over $2500 dollars worth of things stolen in 3 items. i had a cell phone, over 226 cd's, and my kids portable dvd player with 2 7" screens stolen. all they did was popped the driver's side door key cylinder, cracked my handle, and dented my door and walked away with the stuff. the insurance is going to replace my key cylinder, handle and fix the dent after i pay my deductible. they are going to give me $250 for the loss of the cd's and that is about all i am getting. my renter's insurance is not going to cover the loss of the dvd player, dvd that was inside, or the cell phone.  view
