On 5/25/2003 i purchased a 1998 ford xlt vin#1fmru18w7wlb17491 at the time i could not afford a extended warranty but the dealer stated that it had a warranty left of either 1 month or 1000 miles left on it. this suv turned out to be a nightmare by july 2nd 2003 i had to put new brakes on it which in turn set me back $600.00 also my suspension light kept going on i also was starting to have problems with transmission on 8-15-03 i took my suv to aamco and paid $2712.85 for a new transmission i called stevens creek nissan to see if they could help me at least pay half but to no avail they said no too bad. further more by paying all this money out i got behind on my car payments and to no avail in november 2004 my suv got repo . please help i feel that stevens creek nissan should have at least paid half. i had only had the vehicle for 8 weeks before i started having problems with it. now my credit is even blemished more that what it should be. disappointed in san jose.

2003 honda vtx1800r motorcycle rear drive unit bearing failure. the motorcycle was two years old with 20k miles on it. during a routine rear wheel removal, the two radial ball bearings p/n: 6304uu (20x47x20.9) (toyo) were found to be severely damaged, missing bearings etc.... this is the second time this has happened. this can result in a catastrophic rear drive failure while operating the motor vehicle with death and injury as a possible result also who ever it was at honda reporting the vtx to have 106hp should be flagged for a flat out lie.

The so-called "fix" gm has for the 1997-2004 corvette column lock problem does not fix the problem. it merely puts a band-aid on the problem to protect them from lawsuits. i do not understand how this can be allowed by law. i have had to resort to an aftermarket part to fix the problem and chose to ignore the recall due to this situation. i should not have to do this. gm should have to fix the problem. and i should be reimbursed for the proper repair i executed to the car.

Dt: the consumer is experience a problem with the abs at low speeds. the problem first started occurring in dec. of 2004. the consumer stated the brakes were not holding when coming to a stop at slow speeds. when going over 20 mph there was no problem. the consumer has not had the repair made as of yet. due to the fact that the consumer feels that his model year should be included in the recall also. there is a recall on this issue for the 1999-2002 models. recall number 05068 and nhtsa campaign 05v379000. the consumer is going to contact the manufacturer.

Dt: last sunday the consumer discovered she had a flat tire. when she attempted to start the vehicle, the motor starting racing and making a loud noise like it was revving up. the transmission light came on. the consumer placed the vehicle in park then put it into drive and it would not move at all. the transmission would not engage. the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer who could not find anything wrong with the vehicle. they think it was just a glitch.

My 1999 volvo v70 xc with 76,000 miles had flutuating idle and stalled occaisionally when coming to a stop, losing control ( power steering and acceleration). on 8 april 2004 we had to replace the throttle body (cost ~$1000). this month (august 2005) with 99,000 miles on the car, the same symptoms occured again. we have just replaced the throttle body again at a cost of $1000.

Sludge build up occurred in the dodge durango. the dealer informed the consumer that there was sludge in the engine and that it was as a result of neglect which then voided the warranty. the consumer explained that the vehicle oil had been changed numerous time by non-dealer mechanic. the dealer nor manufacturer provided any financial assistance. the consumer had the engine replaced by a local repair facility. the consumer's vehicle was making noise in the front end.

Dt: 2004 ford expedition - the gear shift indicator does not shift when put into gear. it has been doing this off and on for the past three months. took the vehicle to the dealer to have it looked at and made an the appointment to have it repaired, the gear shift indicator was not in the proper gear when the consumer brought vehicle back for the appointment, it was working properly. therefore, it was not repaired at that time. currently, it is happened again. it has been in the wrong gear for about two weeks. the vehicle is still under warranty. the gear shift indicator failed at least 100 times.

My husband was driving my 1992 civic ex 4 dr sedan on interstate 95 northbound on 9/8/05. he had the a/c on and all windows and moonroof closed. he heard a loud "pop" and then heard wind noise. a passing motorist signaled to him to look up, opened the sun shade, and realized the entire glass moonroof was gone!! the car was purchased by me brand new and is in immaculate mechanical and structural condition. it has never been involved in an automobile accident. i contacted honda and explained what happened. they told me to take it to the nearest dealer to be inspected. i had no problems whatsoever with the moonroof. no leaks, no unusual noise, it opened and closed without hesitation. the car received regular maintenance. i am grateful that no one was behind my husband or someone could have easily been killed. honda accepts no responsibility for this. when i asked what i should have looked for to know that there was a potential problem with my moonroof, they could not give me an answer.

Do not really know? i found out only after extensive searching and multiple visits to the dealership. that the crankshaft position sensor was the problem. recalled on other vehicles but not on 2003 nissan altima. same issue as with the 2002 nissan altima. that has been recalled.

I have noticed my right rear window is not sliding down or up. when i took for 60k miles service dealer told me motor failed and it cost me $500. and it is very common in toyota corolla. at 66k check engine light started glowing. dealer said i need to replace charcoal evaporator canister which is part of emission system and it is going to cost me $400. i will never buy toyota again.

Dt: the consumer stated that the 1998 audi a 4 was having a problem with the abs control unit. the diagnosis was that there was a communication error between the abs unit and the instrument cluster. the consumer has not had the problem corrected. the parts needed to fix the problem was on back order. the consumer has not ordered any parts to fix the vehicle at this time. the vehicle had a warning light on the instrument panel. it was the warning light and the abs light. the consumer took the vehicle to a repair shop to have it checked. the manufacturer has been contacted and the consumer filed a complaint with volkswagen.

Dt: contact owns a 2001 chevrolet express van. the contact stated the power pedestal bracket for the driver's seat broke. the general motors service dealer stated that the there was no reason for the bracket to break. the general motors manufacturer stated that they will not be responsible for the failure of the after market product installed by majestic because it was not the original equipment of the vehicle. majestic stated that the bracket that broke was a general motors product, and ii was the responsibility of general motors to repair it.

I parked my 1994 f-150 xlt pick-up in my driveway about 5:00 pm. sunday 9-11-05, i was awaken about 4:00 am monday 9-12-05 to find my truck on fire, my wife called 911 and the fire department responded in about 15 min. and put the fire out. the truck was completely destroyed and caused damage to my home.

Dt: the abs system has been disfunctional for three years. contacted gm for the last two years. what happens when going 10 mph or less and applying the brakes the vehicle will not stop. when this first started it happened intermittently. now, it does it all the time. there was a recall but it did not include this vehicle due to vin. the consumer could feel the brake coming back when putting pressure on the brakes. it makes a sound. had the abs system disconnected, this started happening on november 15, 2000. consumer stated gm informed him they were doing recall repairs on brakes for salt states. however,the consumer took this vehicle to the ocean, and for others who use the vehicles there.

Dt: the contact owns a 2001 volkswagen beetle diesel. the vehicle will sway back and fourth and this was hard fast sways. this occurred a lot while driving. the dealership stated that the swaying was caused by the failure of control arm: lower ball joints. the contact had several close calls from this because it was unsafe. the volkswagen manufacturer referred him to nhtsa. this has occurred for at least two months. he took the vehicle to the dealer to have the wheels aligned and this did not help the problem because it progressively was getting worse. it occurred at all speeds and progressively became worse the faster that the contact was traveling.

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle had serious transmission problems. the vehicle lurched continuously while driving at 10 mph. there was also a loud clunking noise when the vehicle shifted gears. the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, who determined there was a problem with the fuel pump. the fuel pump was replaced, but the problems continued. the vehicle was then taken back to the service dealer, who was unable to duplicate the issue.

Vehicle is 2003 mercury mountaineer awd/ the vehicle keeps on losing the power to the transmission and you just sit there watching the rpm race with no power happiness at all speeds which has almost caused many crashes re pulling out into traffic. has been to the dealer and they can not find anything . on going problem x 2 years and is at the dealership now re i feel i'm going to get killed in this vehicle.

Dt: 2005 freightliner columbia. the front hub broke, the casting came completely apart. the new hub is a different style than the original. the consumer broke a bone in his neck, and has two bad discs in both shoulders. there was no wreck when this happened. the consumer was able to control the vehicle. he was driving between 50-55 mph when this happened on july 19, 2005. he could not get an answer from freightliner why this happened. the consumer wanted to know why there was a different hub, and if he should replace the other one as well. the doctor has yet to release him for work. the consumer stated the front axle, brake drum, wheel, tire, the abs valve, and i-beam needed to be replaced as a result of this. updated

Steering requiring more effort than normal and jerky when making left turns. replaced power steering pump and flushed system, all new fluid. problem still exists. took it to a dealer because there is a recall for this exact problem. buick recall campaign number: 03v527000 date: 2003-dec-11 component: steering: rack and pinion the dealer said my vin wasn't covered in the recall but they would be glad to check it & fix the problem if i paid for it. what gives? what good is a recall if the dealers don't honor it? i found numerous complaints on carstats.com of the same problem with the dealers saying their vin isn't covered under the recall.

I am the owner of a 2003 m3 equipped with the smg-ii transmission (vin wbsbl93493jr21921). for the past year (since the car accrued about 11,000 miles), the car has, with increasing frequency, failed to make the shift from 3rd to 4th gear under hard acceleration. instead, the transmission slips into neutral and the engine free-revs often past red-line. the result is that the car loses acceleration (dramatically if the fuel is cut-off when the red-line is passed), but because the driver¿¿s foot is on the gas, the brake lights do not illuminate. this recently nearly caused me to be rear-ended. as you can imagine, when accelerating to merge into highway traffic, an unannounced loss of forward momentum is very dangerous. bmw has replaced the transmission (twice), which has failed to correct the problem. my dealer has submitted a puma to bmw engineers (twice) without a response. the most recent submittal was about two months ago, which coincided with another puma submittal from another dealer about the same problem. i am aware of at least three other people with the exact same problem. (one of them is on his fourth transmission and still has the malfunction.) bmw, however, has not taken adequate steps to remedy the problem, issued a service bulletin or otherwise addressed the safety issue. my inquiry to customer service was also unhelpful. at the end of august, i sent a letter describing this problem with return receipt to the attention of the general counsel of bmw of north america, llc. i have received no response nor has any attempt been made by bmw to contact me. my attempts to reach any part of bmw other than customer service have also failed.

Dt: the contact owns a 2000 chevrolet corvette. the contact stated that there was nhtsa recall, campaign 04v060000, regarding the steering column locking: anti-theft device. the consumer stated that the remedy for this recall was not sufficient, and recommended that the vehicles be repaired as the european vehicles were instead of disabling the anti-theft device. the consumer has contacted the service dealer and the manufacturer, and they did offer to repair the vehicle under nhtsa's recall remedy.

Failure of bosch abs 5.3 controller leading to warning tones and lights and loss of traction control and abs functions, a definite safety hazard. this is a widely reported problem as vw and audi cars get older due to a failure in the bosch hybrid module. since the cars are out of warranty, vw and audi are not covering repairs which cost $1400 or more.

I have a 2004 ford f350 and a f250 both have the 6.0l diesel engine. there is a real problem with the fuel injectors and turbo and possibly the fuel pump according to the dealer. both trucks load up and start to run very rought the only way to stop the situation is to floor the throttle intill it clears up producing an extremely amount of black smog. several times the trucks have stalled while driving leaving us without power brakes and steering. ret urn trips to the nearest dealer have not been a good experince they tell us that because there are so many 6.0l diesels with the same problem ford is slapping them on thier hands for fixing these problems with the driviability warrenty. i left the dealer not sure where to turn the trucks are not fixed and this conditions do create a hazard. the dealer even told me they had a whole fleet of school buses with the same problem they were fixing so the problem is not just my problem they know of the problem and even know of the solution without even looking but it appears ford is holding the dealers hostage and leaving the customers with a hazardous vechicle. i feel this is not a driviablity warrenty but a serious recall issue. thanks for any help you can do with this

On aoril 30, 2005, my vehicle 2003 nissan murano's engine stopped running and stranded my wife in middle of night causing major inconvenience in serving her patients at er. when i took the car to dealer, their initial assessment was to replace battery, which i agreed reluctantly (it is very uncommon for batter to go bad in 2 years). then they advised me that alternator needs to replace which will be covered by warranty. i told them since alternator caused the battery to get discharge, i felt that nissan should pay for that too. the dealer said that they can not. however, about couple of weeks, i recvd a recall notification sating the following: "on some 2003-2005 nissa murano vehicles, there is a possibility that a wire breaking inside alternator could stop the battery from charging. if this happens (which happened in my case), the charge warning lamps will immediately come on and the battery will begin to discharge. after short time, the engine will go into a "fail safe" condition which will limit vehicle speed. very shortly after this, the engine wll stop running. this could result in a crash". this is exactlywhat happened in our case that caused battery to go bad. nissan clearly responsible for battery too.

Incidents started occurring immediately after purchase of car. trunk lid springs do not have sufficient tension, such that when we open the trunk on even a slight hill the trunk lid may stay up for a few seconds, but slams shut either immediately, after something of weight is put in the trunk, or if a breeze comes up. this has occurred several times to my wife and me, resulting in the trunk lid hitting our head or spine with sufficient force to cause significant pain and a wound. if this happened to a young child, it could result in serious injury. acura replaced one spring with a stronger one, but that has done almost nothing to help. the service manager at the dealer also checked other '05 acura tl models and they did the same thing. he acknowledged it is a safety issue and said he would report it to acura. the dealer was unable to make any further adjustments to the springs. i complained to acura customer service and they acknowledged they have had similar reports. however, they said they did not have a sufficient number to justify a recall or to even come up with a solution. thus i am contacting you. this is definitely a safety hazard and appears to apply to all 2005 acura tl's (at least a representative sample at the dealer). we now have to hold up the trunk lid with one hand while putting anything in the trunk while on even a slight incline.

Loaded vehicle with 1440lb sand. upon driving highway (never exceed 55mph) within 20 min vehicle smoked heavily from engine bay. discovered that vehicle's power steering pump has an overflow valve line that seems to have a pressure valve at the end of it. this hose is connected to the wiring harness near the battery, and points vertically at the hood, just over the valve cover assembly. power steering fluid poured over the engine, combusting on the engine assembly, but not flaming up. my assumption is that this vehicle's power steering unit is somehow tied to a "load leveler?" that is factory installed. due to the load weight in the back of the vehicle, this caused the power steering fluid to overheat and expand, causing the ejection of fluid. another answer is that this is somehow a transmission fluid overflow, and the automatic transmission simply overheated. unfortunately, with the position of the overflow release hose and valve, this required replacement of several hoses and a wire kit due to the damage. my question is why would this fluid be ejected above the engine---this fluid is definitely petroleum based, and flammable. had i continued down the road further, i certainly would have had flame. please note, the weight rating for this truck is 1800lb, i am 265, and the truck was empty, except for the 1440lb of sand. i was approaching the rating, but not nearly overloading the truck.

Dt: 2005 ford f350. the consumer stated the anti-lock brake system light continued to come on. when this happened, the brakes did not work. the consumer had to pull a trailer with this vehicle. the vehicle has been taken into the dealership ten times for this. the dealership changed a sensor and then it failed again. the consumer has been talking to ford motor company. a vehicle stopped in front of the consumer and he swerved causing deep ruts in the yard.

I previously submitted a complaint with confirmation number 10135197. since submitting that complaint, i have been on bmw related message boards and discovered the problem with high temperature "sticking" steering on 2003 bmw z-4 roadsters is not only well known to bmw, but they have come up with a repair. unfortunately, bmw is not recalling, not notifying and they are insisting that a car owner wait until a complete part failure that can be verified at the dealer to take any action under the car warranty. this problem comes and goes with outside heat. a dealership is not always around to verify the issue. i have talked with bmw usa headquarters in new jersey and they throw me back to the dealer. if you took what bmw usa says at face value, they have no control over this issue. that is not turning out to be the case. unfortunately, the dealer says they cannot act without bmw authorization and that requires the replacement of a verifiable failed part. the dealer is caught in the middle. there has been nothing but double talk from the people in new jersey at bmw headquarters. the internet postings on this problem indicate how severe the issue is. the problem is world wide on 2003 z-4's. it occurs in high outside temperatures and can, according to some postings, come on with no notice at high speeds. one driver described how he narrowly averted putting his car into the center divider of a highway. feel free to check these boards, one of them is "roadfly.com" where a whole thread exists to discuss this problem. another is "z4um.com." apparently the entire steering column must be replaced with one updated from original specs. the part number is 32-30-6-766-486. it is dangerous, unsafe and a risk of life for people to be driving these cars when the steering wheel handling hardens and control of the car is placed in jeopardy. bmw should be required to recall all of these cars and replace the defective part with the improved one.

I have a 200 gmc jimmy purchased in october of 2003. at that time it had 32,000 miles on it. at 42,000 miles i had to replace the lower ball joints. it currently has 80,000 miles on it and the lower ball joints had to be replaced again. i learned from the dealership when seeking a solution to this problem that the lower ball joints had also been replaced at 23,000 miles. i contacted gm and asked them to replace the ball joints fully but was given a 50/50 split. so what am i supposed to do in about 30,00 miles?

The antilocking brakes system of my 2001 impala car corroded with only 5264 miles on the car. i had to pay $760.49 to have them replaced. i drove the car one day and everything was fine, then the next week when i drove the car, everytime that i stepped on the brake, there was this terrrible scraping, noise, even after the car had come to a complete stop. it was so loud that everyone on the street and in cars next to me was turining to look at my car to see where the noise was coming from. i feared steping on the brake and was not sure that i could get the car and myself home safely. on 8/30.05, liz crenshaw, the consumer reporter for channel 4, nbc news reported and it was also in the washington post newspaper on 8/31/05 that gm had recalled pickup trucks and suv, 1999-2002, because of corrosion of the brakes. it stated that the nhtsa had opened the investigation in april of more than 1.2 gm pickups and suv's in 20 states because of questions over the antilock brakes. this is the same thing that happened to my car. i e-mailed chevrolet and a dustomer relations manager called me and denied even knowing that there was such a study and recall. she (heather voltz) said there had been a recall with regard to sensors but not corrosion of the abs. she wasnted me to send her all the information and i suggested she could go to your website and read it the same as i did. she is now waiting for me to send her the copy of the newspaper article from the washington post, which she could also look up on their website. i am going to send the newspaper article. i do not like being discrimination against because i have a car and not an suv or pickup. the corrosion happened to the car the same as to the suv's and pickups. why should owners of suv's and pickups get the benefit of the recall when i have to pay for mine within the same years as those recalled? maybe you can help me deal with chevrolet. thank you.

We own a 1995 ford windstar. a few years ago we received a letter with a notice about the problems ford has with the windstar and tauruses with the 3.8l engine. ford extended the warranty to 7 years, 100,000 miles. at 83,812 miles our head gasket blew, and ford did fix is under warranty work. of course, we figured that would be the end of our problems. however, last weekend, at night, on a hill, on a back road, in the rain, our head gasket blew again. we only have 45,000 miles on the headgaskets since they "fixed" it a few years ago. this time the head gaskets blew, the motor seized and he had no power in the car. he had no headlights, no brakes, nothing, and he had 3 small children, besides another adult in the car with him. he couldn't see out the window as it was fogging up, and he had to get it down a hill! fortunately, by the grace of god, he got it down safely, and got it to the side of the road. we were towed at 12:00midnight. ford is saying they have no responsibility to this, and we think this is unbelievable. all over the internet you find nothing but this defective problem in this van, and can't understand why ford won't take more responsibility. if the first headgasket was given a warranty of 100,000 miles, why wouldn't they warranty this one with more than 12,000 miles, especially since they know they have an obvious problem. in this case on saturday night, the consequences could have been very tragic, and 3 small children would have been injured or killed. yet ford washes their hands of us? if this head gasket had had more miles on them than 45,000 miles, we would not be complaining, but obviously ford has a major defect that they still have not resolved, and the consequences could be costly to lives.

The electronic throttle system warning light came on. there was intermittent loss of power. the dealer identified the following throttle failure codes, 914f, 91b7, 9150. they replaced the throttle, cleaned pvc system and upgraded the ecm software. total cost was $1270.52. at the same time the brake light system failed. there was no warning light. the entire system, all three lights did not illuminate. the dealer replaced the electronic brake light switch. cost $124.08.

I purchased my vehicle in 2003 and was happy with it's performance up until september of 2005. on three different occasions i have experienced the car making a funny noise and accelerating on it's own. i took the car to have it serviced and was told by the service repair person that no one had ever reported having a problem of this kind. since i have had the vehicle repaired i do not feel comfortable driving it. i bought all new tires because i was told that my two front tires were starting to bald. it appears as though the car could be idled too high or something. since i do not know that much about i have no idea what the problem could be. if mitsubishi does not know what is wrong with it there would be no way that i would even have a clue. i had my vehicle serviced by mitsubishi in september 2002. i was told that the vehicle was due for some computer upgrades which may or may not have caused the problem that i experienced with my vehicle. all i can say is that since i have had the car serviced it still feels as though it is accelerating when i am trying to slow down. i am now in the process of trying to pay off the vehicle so that i can trade it in for another make/model. before this problem arose i had anticipated trading my lancer in for the new eclipse. i guess that i do not have to tell you that misubishi will be losing me as a customer. my vehicle is a mitsubishi lancer es 2002.

First the oil light flashed. then the light became a constant. i was heading back home when at a stop light the car died without a sound. it kept shutting off at the lights. i never made it home. i made it to a parking lot, this became all to familiar to me, ( i had engine problems before with this car due to sludge, but it was determined that i had kept up with my maintenance after a long investigation and was fixed) i knew i needed to get a tow truck. the car was towed to south chicago dodge in chicago,il. after their initial inspection,the cost was already at $2417, it would cost me $360 definite labor just to continue the inspection to determine additional problems (this cost was just to take the part apart, i would have to pay $360 again to have it put back together. i am a single mother and i do not have that kind of money. a long story, short i am now stuck with a car that i have three more payments on and is inoperable. i was advised that i could get a used engine, but that only came with a 12 month warranty, or i could get a re-manufactured engine w/3 year warranty. however, they both cost too much. i have read that chrysler is not aware of the problem with the engine, this is a big cover-up. they know, or they are just not interested in a good customer product. i know about iso standards and the big 3 automobile regulators, my question is how did this engine meet regulations? what auditor let something like a engine with faulty valves get produced over and over again. i bought my car in good faith and the same was not delivered. yet chrysler can continue to produce expensive commercials with mr. iocola and snoop dogg etc. this problem needs to be attended to. americans who buy american made products, should receive a product they can trust. i have to borrow cars or take public transportation. if they do not want to recall the engine then they need to provide a lifetime vehicle warranty on the engine so we can at least get it fixed.

My 2002 holiday rambler 5th wheel is equipped with goodyear wrangler ht lt225/75r/16 "e" series tires which are date stamped february 2000. these tires have less than 2000 miles travel. on august 4th 2005 on a trip from burlington n.c. about twenty miles from home traveling at 55 mph on i-85 i experienced a blow out on right rear trailer tire . we were fortunate to find an area to pull over and change tire. i replaced this tire and finished the trip. after a 300 mile trip and upon arrival home i discovered a tread buldge on right front trailer tire and removed 2nd tire which had to be replaced also. the dealer knew of no replacement compensation. my tire dealer pointed out that my 2002 trailer had been equipped with a 2000 year tire and showed me how to read date stamp. after investigating recall reports and complaints about goodyear series "e" tires via internet and personal interviews with fellow campers i certainly do not feel safe short of replacing all tires. goodyear recalled tires on 15 passenger vans, are travel trailers not a hazard with these same series tires? i would also like to go on record to say that two year old tires (date stamped yr. 2000) do not belong on a consumers 2002 travel trailer. also with a record that these tires have goodyear should compensate consumers with safe replacements or reimbursements.

2005 dodge ram 3500 with cummins turbo diesel. this particular model has a "tow-haul" mode that will not lock the transmission out of overdrive. if you are descending a hill and you so much as touch the accelerator then the truck automatically shifts into overdrive and sends you speeding down the hill. the "tow-haul" mode also downshifts the transmission into second gear at 50+ mph and that can also spell disaster while descending a hill on a cold day. my fist experience with this was earlier in the week while traveling to tennessee. we had to tow our 8000 lb race trailer over mt. eagle and encountered both situations while descending the hill. this is an extremely dangerous problem that needs to be addressed immediately. the 2004 model and the new 2006 models both have an overdrive "lockout" to keep this from happening and i'm not sure why it was neglected on the 2005 models.

I was turning onto a street that was down to one lane due to construction. the woman who let me turn onto the street "heard tires squealing" and thought i was speeding up (though i was not moving due to traffic inching forward slowly) and she hit the gas to speed up. she rear-ended me so hard that even though my foot was on the brake, i hit the guy in front of me and at the same time my seat back fell backward onto the back seat (reclining position). when the seat reclined, it made it tricky to reach the brake, clutch or accelerator so i had to throw on the emergency brake to prevent any further bumper cars! the seat now seems to be "stripped" and the slightest pressure makes it go "click click click" back to a reclining position. i am waiting for the part to come in to fix it but that accident could have been much worse if i did not have my head about me and hadn't been able to get the emergency brake on.

Dt: the consumer stated that 2002 toyota tacoma was involved in a crash on may 20, 2005. the driver heard noises in the front end, like a clicking sound. the consumer was making a left hand turn and lost control of the vehicle. the vehicle flipped upon its side. the consumer sustained some minor injuries. the consumer later received nhtsa recall 05v225000 concerning lower ball joints. the consumer contacted the manufacturer, and they said they will make an appointment for the parts to be replaced from the recall, and they would do their own inspection. toyota called the consumer today with the report. they found nothing wrong with the front end or the ball joints. the consumer was upset that he could not see the joint balls that were replaced. he thought that he was cheated in the fact that he could not see the joints before toyota took them. the consumer wanted to do his own inspection on the parts. he noticed that there was power steering fluid leaking, and he thought that the powering steering was under stress. a police and insurance reports were taken. . the vehicle has not been repaired as of now. the speed was between 25-35 mph when the crash occurred.

Transmission slips after vehicle has warmed up. after driving the vehicle for approximately 45 min. or so, if one stops the vehicle shift to park then shift to drive again the vehicle would not move right away. one can hear the engine accelerate, then the vehicle would move slowly until the transmission finally engages, sometimes in a abruptly manner. this problem has been occurring in my vehicle since the day i got it. i complained to the dealership about it and they said there was nothing wrong with it. i contacted the vehicle manufacturing company (gmc) they suggested to bring the vehicle to a different dealership, which i did and they told me they could not find anything wrong either. on the other hand, the vehicle continues to show the same problem. ii have contacted other owners of the same model and type of vehicles and they have said that they have experienced the same exact problem(s), in other case the transmission has simply gone bad.

Daughter was driving home from work in 1994 saturn sc2 when right rear wheel snapped off. she lost control of the car and it rolled several times. daughter was air lifted to united methodist hospital des moines ia. with brain concussion, facial cuts which required plastic surgery the night of the accident, partly collapsed lung, injured spleen, broken leg. will require more plastic surgery. insurance company has the car. the car was a total loss. wheel definitely possible failure with the airbag and seat belt.

The complaint revolves around a 2001 aprilia scarabeo 150, which suffered internal damage due to an abnormal failure in the carburetor. the cycle has a 1 cylinder, 150cc engine, and is currently at 15,000 miles. 1) normal 12.5 mile drive to work. temperature in the 70s, clear. 2) when powering down to make turn into workplace, the engine cuts out without warning. attempt to restart engine produces a locked engine sound (like a nice clunk sound - no rotation). because of the gearing system, the bike immediately started slowing down due to engine rotor drag. 3) problem was that one of the carburetor diaphram slider guides broke off along a non-stress line and lodged itself in the fuel line or cylinder. from an online rider's group, this type of carburetor failure is common (for a failure that should not ever happen). currently waiting for a new part for servicing. unknown if cylinder needs rebored, but the carburetor is definitely out of business. remains of the slider is still in the bike for dealer inspection.

A few problems here. i bought this vehicle brand new. from the second i took it off the lot the heat did not work. i bought this vehicle in november, do you think i was happy? so they fixed this problem on a brand new car. then last year in 2004 my car decided it would not start at all. turns out it was the starter that went and that had to be replaced on a vehicle that was only a year old. so because of this i had to have my car towed from my driveway to the dealership. then the latch broke off on the center console inside the vehicle. i am not rough using it at all. its normal use for this latch yet it broke off after having the car for a year. the problem that i face now is that i cannot get out of my car!!!!!! i arrived home one day and found that the drivers side door would not open from the inside. i am 7 months pregnant and was very scared when i found this problem. what if there is ever a car fire or an accident and i cannot get out? you can open the door from the outside but not the inside. hyannis nissan claims its a door latch problem and it had to be replaced. so since my warranty just ran out i have to pay $192.00 to get this repaired. are you kidding me? on a 2004 vehicle? talk about unsafe and dangerous!!!! the last problem is that there is a bad smell coming from the vents in the vehicle upon turning the car on. not sure what that problem is. could that be hazardous to my health? not sure but it worries me with the baby i am carrying. i am sick and tired of paying for repairs when the problem is not me its nissan yet i have to pay for it. and to think i have to pay $433.00 per month for this vehicle plus pay for repairs that i can not afford. it's not fair and nissan should have to pay.

Dt: this was the second time the front and back wheel bearings have been replaced, the saturn dealer refused to replace them , insisting that the tires were not properly rotated. went back to saturn again and said the tires needed to be replaced. have replaced all four of the tires. saturn replaced the front two tires themselves. currently, the bearings e failed again on the front and back. the first time the consumer took vehicle to saturn for bearing replacement was on august 6, 2003.

Dt: the contact owns a 2004 nissan altima. the contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle has to turn the ignition on and off two or three times before the vehicle will start. the consumer stated that on one occasion the vehicle stalled while driving . there were no warning indications that the vehicle was going to stall or indicating a problem with the vehicle. the service dealer could not duplicate the problem. the consumer has contacted the manufacturer.

2005 nissan pathfinder suv becomes very unstable at highway speeds when hitting a bump. the vehicle rocks violently diagonally and the vehicle sways out of the lane. the vehicle also bottoms out constantly since it was new with no load in it. dealer has attempted a fix by reprogramming the vehicle dynamic control, this has not fixed the problem. this vehicle is extremely unsafe to drive at any speed above 40 mph. driver feels as if he has lost total control when hitting a bump. i followed my wife when she was driving the vehicle and it appears that the rear shocks are trying to over-compensate for every little bump as they are jumping up and down like crazy as the vehicle drives over bumps. something must be done to fix this problem before fatalities start happening.

Had a sudden stop in 100 degree weather, when pulled off, the truck felt as if it were pulling a load and a strong burning rubber smell was coming from the front end. ended up having it towed to the dealership where it was found that the front calipers had seized up. dealership was not certain as to what caused the problem. truck only has 52,000 miles on it. ended up putting all new braking system on the front end. a year ago had the same problem, brought into the dealership and they told me it was a sensor that controlled the abs. can't figure that one out, only have abs on the rearend, not on the front. it is a scary thing when you are on the highway and you have that burning smell and smoke is bellowing from the front wheels. dealership claims no fire would've occurred. tained.

Dt: cosco alpha omega child seat. the child seat is a convertible seat. the upper latch on the five-point harness broke. this occurred on september 13,2005. the make of the child seat is cosco, with the model alpha omega, and the consumer is unsure of the exact manufacture build date. there have been no accidents as of yet.

I have had ongoing problems with my 2003 gmc yukon. it started in september of 2004 with my rear air not working, it was inoperable; and, a popping noise in my steering, the steering felt loose. the rear air was temporarily fixed in october of 2004 but continues to be a problem now in september of 2005, one year later. i've never really had rear air since i bought the vehicle, it works occasionally. i still have no rear air and vehicle has been in the shop more than 7 times for this problem. it took until january of 2005 to fix the steering problem. i've also had problems with my speedometer, which quit working in december of 2004 and the part was on back order and i had to take my vehicle in and leave for the dealership to send the speedometer to california for reprogramming, this problem was fixed in january of 2005.

I had been experiencing a hesitation for appx six months, just wondering when the car would finally fail and where. i drove the car home on limp mode twice. i'd taken the car to the dealership on 4 separate occasions to figure out the problem. each time they could not figure out the problem and charged me to look at the car. the fourth time the car put out an etm code and they replaced the etm.

Possible transmission defect in nissan truck certified mail. the cause of the transmission failure was that two internal bushings had managed to move, cutting off the supply of transmission fluid into the transmission which caused it to overheat, seize and fracture the gears in the planetary system.

I was driving down the road, heard a noise and suddenly my right front wheel detached from my vehicle. my vehicle swerved out of control and i ended up in a shopping plaza. luckily, i escaped unhurt. i looked and saw that the wheel became detached at the spindle. i had the vehicle towed to the dealer. even though my vehicle is under warranty, the dealer refused to fix it stating that i hit something that caused the spindle to become detached. the 2004 dodge stratus has had the same problem and there are an awful lot of dodge rams with front end problems. daimler chrysler refused to do anything stating that they go with what the dealership says.

Incident reported in amazon.com customer review section of website. url regarding the complaint: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/asin/b00022ofsy/qid%3d1125520513/sr%3d11-1/ref%3dsr%5f11%5f1/002-9858359-3780034 amazon.com customer review of the product in question: product should be recalled, august 22, 2005; reviewer: a. williams "busy mom" (tulsa, ok) - i bought this booster seat and absolutely loved it for almost a month. my son was very comfortable and it was easy for him to get in and out of the car. however, after we had it for almost a month, the folding lock became defective. the seat folds in half for easy carrying/storage but is supposed to be locked in the upright position while children are riding in it. well, with any weight applied to the seat (such as a child sitting in it) the lock would pop open and the seat would fold in half...while driving down the road. this is so dangerous! i have notified the manufacturer and am returning this seat. i wouldn't be surprised if they recalled the seats but who knows, maybe mine was just a manufacturing mistake. regardless, just to be sure you are getting a safe car seat i would look elsewhere [end]. on 08/25/2005, amazon.com's product compliance received information of our product-safety email queue from a manufacturer. the contents of the email: to whom it may concern, my name is jody malone and i am with compass. amazon sells our products thru the babies r us. recently an amazon customer posted a rating and returned the product to amazon. when the customer contacted amazon she thought she was contacting compass to not notify compass of an issue she was having with our product. compass would like to review the returned product to validate her concerns [end]. incident information below is based on above documentation. we have recovered the customer's returned product. on the request and permission of our retail partner, toysrus, we are in the process of returning the product back to the manufacturer.

Dt: the caller said the dealer made new holes in the frame to put the bolts in. the dealer cut the frame to put smaller bolts and nuts in. another dealer said doing that ruined the integrity of the frame. also, there was an exhaust leak into the vehicle. the transmission bracket was bent and it would not hold the transmission in place. when the dealer fixed it the bolts fell out. the caller had to take vehicle back to dealer. the check engine light was on constantly. vehicle will not pass inspection with the light on. dealer said it will pass inspection with the light on. manufacturer said they could not do anything to help the caller because the warranty expired. the caller said fuses blew out. he replaced the fuses over 200 times. the dashboard lights,headlights and other exterior lights went out.
