While driving home from work in 90+ degree heat my car overheated to the point where i had to have it towed in and was told by the mechanics that my coolant had been leaking and causing the car to over heat there blowing the head gasket and causing me to have to pay $1200.00+ to have another engine put it. i have heard this is a commom with the 2001 chevrolet malibus. i don't know what the repair shop done with the old motor, but it was fried.  view

I was turning the steering wheel to the left to parallel park next to the curb, then i heard a loud pop noise. when i went to turn the steering wheel to the right it began very hard to turn the wheel. after leaving the store and from that point on every attempt i made to make a right turn, it was extremely difficult. after arriving home i noticed leaking coming from under my van. i called the location pontiac dealership about the my steering problem and they indicated that the van had been serviced for a recall in february of 2003 for the rack and pinion recall something related to the steering. so i checked the internet for the recall and it mentioned the same exactly problems that i was having now. i called the dealership back and they said that the recall was already done once. i told them it is doing the same exactly thing, and when i went to check the steering one more time i noticed a huge puddle under my van of reddish brown fluid. come to find out it was transmission leaking and when i turn the engine on the fluid came pouring out like a faucet. i contacted a transmission shop to take a look at my van and the mechanic told me that the axle was pulled out of the transmission by the steering system. the mechanic also mentioned that he has done quite a few of these same exactly kind of mini-van with the same exactly problem. he said that he knew exactly how the fix this problem because he does it quite often. the repair costed $1,800.00 dollars and the mechanic told me now i need to take back to the dealer to have them repair that rack and pinion again. now this has me very upset, i'm so mad about this because this definitely sounds like a manufacture problem and i should not have to pay for this. i sent the van to karco tranmissions in lancaster, california where i live and the phone number is 661-723-1164. this does not make any sense to me, so this is why i am filing this complaint.  view

This seat, an evenflo tribute, model #3792098p1, manufacturer date of september 11, 2003, was given to a family that brought it back to our agency after 1 year of use. the metal harness adjuster in the front was broken and unable to be used safely to secure the child in the car seat. this was one of three seats that were returned to us due to the same problem. we replaced the seat with a new one.  view

Dt: the contact owns a 1999 dodge stratus which caught on fire on july 23, 2005. she received a recall notice on august 10, 2005 on the floor shift. she said that the fire was first noticed from the engine compartment. the fire marshal was unsure of where the fire originated. her uncle, a fire fighter, fought a fire on july 1, 2005 on a vehicle with same year, make and model. the vehicle was not operating any differently before the fire started. the vehicle had been sitting for less than 10 minutes before the fire started. both the contact and her husband smelled something burning when they got out of the car but did not say anything to each other about it. then , after the fire was noticed they announced at the bowling alley that someone's vehicle was on fire. they went outside and flames where coming from under the hood. the fire was right in front of the hot spot on the driver's side.  view
