1987 SUBARU GL User Comment / Complaint

While driving in stop-and-go traffic on sunday july 17, 2005, my 2005 dodge durango (~1700 miles) engine shut off. i placed the car in neutral (i was still rolling) and was able to stop the vehiucle and restart the engine. i took the car into a 5-star dealership (where it was purchased from) and they kept the vehicle for 2 days. the service department conclusion was that they could find no trouble. i have seen similar failures with this vehicle on the nhtsa website, so i feel confident that this is not an isolated case.  view

Dt: contact states abs light comes on the dash. a service dealer checked it out and found that the left front abs brake sensor was out, and they repaired it on 6-20-05. now the abs light is back on and the sensor is out again. contact did not have any problems with this prior to this because he has the car only 2 months.  view

Dt: the contact owns a 2002 mercury sable ls. the vehicle had less than 31,900 miles on it. on 5/6/05 front brakes were replaced. front brake pads cut the front rotors. resurfaced the rotors, replaced and machined them which cost $250-275. . then on 7/25/05 had the rear brakes replaced/machined rear drums/replaced shoes/ flushed the brake system, and replaced brake cylinder. which cost consume r around $425. the vehicle now only has 33,544. the dealership has been very good about doing work on this vehicle. consumer contacted the manufacturer, and they told him the problem was with the vehicle. they said they would call the dealership. all they did was contact the dealership, and they gave consumer $50 off. that was all the manufacturer did, and they never contacted him back. he dealt with the manufacturer before, and they did nothing for him then. consumer did not like the way customer service handled his concerns. brakes went out after three years. also contacted consumer reports, and they informed him that they were going to do a report on car brakes.  view

2001 jeep grand cherokee laredo headlight lenses are dull. these dull headlights cause reduced visibility.  view

1999 mercury grand marquis seat belt buckle malfunctioned. the consumer's nephew was unable to unbuckle the seat belt located on the rear of the vehicle. he had to wiggle out of the seat belt to exit the vehicle. further attempts at unlocking the seat belt buckle were unsuccessfully.  view

Problems with the dunlop run flat tires and the transmission on the 2004 toyota sienna. during a 3000 mile service the technician notice that on or more of the tires was balding. all four tire were replaced. a few day after the 3000 mil maintenance the vehicle would not move because there was no transmission fluid.  view

T-bone collision, approximately 45 mph. front end of vehicle badly damaged. no airbag deployment.  view
