While my husband was on his way to work from our home in yacolt wa. heading to salem or., the engine in our 2000 dodge intrepid quit without warning, he was on i-205 at 5:00 am in the dark he easily could have been killed as well as endangered others on the highway. this vehicle had been maintained very well and we have owned since 17,00 miles. i now am aware that there are hundreds of people that this has happened to and yet the daimler-chrysler corp. has not acted to inform the consumers that this is a problem or a safety issue. we have three children who up until two months ago were always in this vehicle with me because it was my daily driver. it could have happened quite easily while my children were in the car on a major roadway.  view

Abs activates when coming to complete stop on smooth, dry road surfaces. occurs at speeds from approx 10 mph to 0 and with increasing frequency, now perhaps 15% of stops. results in slightly increased stopping distances.  view

Dt: contact received nhtsa campaign recall 91v201000 concerning fuel system/gas storage tank assembly in 2000-2001. he took the car to dealer, and the gas tank was replaced. afterwards, consumer was having a lot of problems with the car. he was not having problems with the gas tank leaking prior to having it replaced. after the gas tank was replaced under the recall gas tank started leaking gas and continued to leak. it got progressively worse over the last year and a half to two years. also, had driving problems/stalling. consumer took vehicle back to the dealer, they inspected the car and said that the car had a bad leak somewhere on top of the tank. but could not tell consumer why it was leaking. the car has never been in a wreck. he changed the fuel filter, and still had the same problem with gas leaking from the tank. the dealer wante dto charge contact $500.00 to pull the gas tank out and see what the problem might be. volkswagon. told the dealership that if the gas tank that was replaced in 2001 had the same defect as the original tank they would pay for it. but if not, then contact would have to pay for it. contact did not want to pay $500.00 for to find out what the problem was.  view

We have a 2002 honda odyssey ex. while driving, with foot on accelerator, the engine tries to shift into another gear, but just revs without engaging into gear. this has been happening regularly (every few miles) for the last two weeks. it had occurred previously several months ago, but could not be diagnosed by honda. it has become worse and more frequent in recent weeks, and honda was again unable to diagnose. honda customer service could only advise taking it to another dealer for service. we know that there is a transmission recall on this vehicle. we are unaware of the step the honda service department took to try to diagnose or correct the problem.  view

Honda pilot front rotors get warp with normal use, when brakes are applied at high speed the car steering wheel shakes violently and car is out of control, have to remove foot from brakes to get control of the car back, honda will not acknowledge problem.  view

Toyota sienna (2004+) awd models use run-flat tires since no spare tire is provided by toyota. these run-flat tires are defective in that they wear out exceedingly fast. mine are nearly worn out at 17k miles on my 2004 sienna. at a equipment and labor replacement cost of ~ $1600 for all 4 tires, this is unacceptable. if you search the internet, this is a well known problem with the siennas using run-flats. tires should not cost me $100 per 1000 miles driven. secondary issue with the tires is the safety. i have not experieced this problem, but other owners are stating that if the tire is cut, that it needs to be replaced immediately. because run flats are new, there are hardly any places in the u.s. that stock these tires, let alone having the special equipment to install them. you'll see many owners have resorted to buying regular tires for their siennas, then purchasing a spare tire and throwing it into the back of their van. this takes away from the utility of the van a great deal, since storage is a primary selling point of minivans. please investigate this issue. tires should last ~40k miles, and since these run flats are so expensive, replacing every 15k miles puts a huge cost on the owner that toyota never warned new owners. i would expect toyota to cover replacement cost of these tires until a suitable replacement is developed, or find a way to use regular tires and store the spare somewhere on the vehicle without taking up the advertised passenger storage space. thank you for your support and assistance, -brian armer  view

I was driving my van when a very loud explosion occured. pull over to side of road and shut off van. exited van and smelled a strong gasoline odor. open hood and found a spark plug & coil laying on top of engine! the spark plug just exploded out. this van was taken to dealer and the "heavy" tech said that this has happen before, because of lack of threads on engine head four to be exact. ford recomends that the plug be change at 100,000 miles. this e350 van has 77,000 miles on it with the original plugs still in it. ford has no current recall on this problem.  view

While driving the accelerator got stuck, i applied the brakes when the car spend out of control and hit the curve, the accelerator was running when i turned the car off. this cause the upper and lower controls to break along with the differential and brakes.  view

Seat belt around child using a child safety seat malfunctioned and could not be removed. seat belt continued to tighten to the point of suffocation for child. it would not retract. all efforts to release seat belt caused it to further tighten. due to fear that child would be asphyxiated, seat belt was cut. in effort to get it repaired, i have found that seat belts are not kept in stock and will have to be ordered.  view

The upper and lower ball joints only on the driver's side have prematurely worn out. the upper ball joint moves freely with the car's vertical motion rather than being restricted to side-to-side motion. the lower ball joint has also failed. the passenger side shows no such wear. there has been no accident to cause this problem and no accident caused from it-- yet.  view

Clutch would not release, and then made loud poping sound, then it starting working, got into our shop check out found it had blew a hole in clutch housing, parts of clutch disc, came apart.r&r clucth and flywheel,we kept old parts here.the part that came out of disc, hit highway somewhere.  view

2002 jeep liberty was being towed behind motor home, alerted by passing motorists i pulled over and got out of the rv. smoke was poring out of the liberty fire trucks arrived just as flames were shooting out of engine compartment..they managed to free the jeep from the motor home and used fire hoses on the jeep..jeep is a total loss..as yet no explanation for cause of fire.  view

My 98 ford windstar was involved in an accident where a chevy tahoe ran a red light and t-boned the right rear passenger side of my van. upon impact the side door of my van flew off and ended up 15 feet from the vehicle. all occupants were wearing seat belts (my wife and our 5 children) so no one was ejected from the vehicle. our son who was sitting in the back seat on the passengers side was hospitalized with multiple life threatening injuries. the failure was not corrected as the vehicle was totaled.  view

Dt: the contact owned an eddie bauer child seat model # 22-265 mac gb1b, dom 12-7-04. the build dates for the recall was just to october 20, 2004. the left harness kept coming loose, and sometimes completely came out just like the recall stated. contact's child seat build date needed to be included in this recall. this only happened every once in a while.  view

My 1999 ford expediton went into total melt down 5 months ago. after a rain storm i went into it and after starting it the windshield wipers went nuts the radio died when the car went into reverse the lights went on and off. the car has been to my mechanic who finally went to ford and now it has been back for the 3rd time a new windshield new computer and still if it rains and now if it is humid all hell brakes loose.now that i see all the complaints and 2,000 dollars later all hell will brake loose with ford because i am willing to do whatever i can and have to get results.  view

Before a gm dealer sells a used gm car, shouldn't they have to run the vin to see if any recalls are outstanding on that vehicle?? bought my vette from micheal chevrolet, called another dealer to find out the steering wheel lock recall was never done! i am a vehicle rep. for ford,and am responsible for 500 company lease vehicles. i would be in a huge amount of trouble if i sent a used vehicle back to our b lot or out to auction without all recalls being completed!  view

(1) i allegedly had the enginge crank sensors replaced in march, as according the mandated recall on 2002 nissan altimas. yet, my car still experienced difficulties starting and continued to conumse large quantities of oil. i was having to add 2 or 3 quarts in between scheduled oil changes. (2) if in fact the crank sensors on the enings of my vehicle were replaced, the starting difficulties persisted. also, the recall informaiton listed and shown on nissan usa's website provide exlpicit and detailed information about what mechanical trouble and events will occur if the sensors and the catalyic (catalyst) converter are not replaced simulteaneously. (3) i had my 2002 nissan altima towed to peachtree nissan on 7/15/05, and on 7/16/05 i called the dealership and gainer smith (maintenance mgr.) informed me that my catalyic (pieces) converter had been sucked into my engine and caused major damage and cracked the pistons and engine block. prior to this incident my car had ofter stopped without warning on the freeway, for unexplained reasons. my 02 altima never had any major engine or part problems since i purchased the automobile brand new from troncalli nissan. peachtree nissan instructed me to call nissan usa because there dealership could not authorize themselves to replace the engine in my car. also, a mechanic on duty told me the problem that destroyed the engine in my car happens often to 2.5 liter engine altimas. he stated the problem usually occurs at 60,000 miles and since my car has 103,000 miles and no warranty they wouldnt immediately take responsibilty for replacing my engine. lastly, my engine did not malfunction because i abused my car. i changed the oil and kept coolant in the compartment at all times. my car is not working because when my car was at peachtree nissan in march the dealer failed to properly complete the recall portion on my exhasut/hanger pin and pre-catalyst (converter). a faulty exhaust should never cause an engine to be destroyed.  view

I purchased my '02 saturn l300 from a highly recommended local used car dealership here in florida mid may '05. it was close to closing time when the final papers were drawn so the salesman and i walked around the car and i noticed then that the left rear brake lamp was out. he told me that the parts dept was closed so to come back the next business day. i came back that monday and they fixed it no problem. well a month or so later, on my way to work, i was pulled over by a state trooper and was told my left rear brake light was out. i informed her that i had just fixed it at the dealership so she gave me a warning and told me to fix it again. i set up an appointment with the dealership that day. while leaving work, i glanced into the windows reflection as i was backing up and saw that the light was working. i have been pulled over three times and all times was giving warnings. is the next cop going to be so nice? it works when it wants to. i am always questioning whether or not its working. this is a $38 part. how many must i purchase? i did not know there was any kind of recall. the dealership did not notify me of any at time of sale. is there anything i can do now? also, a friend who owned a smaller version of the l-series said he had to replace his tires constantly. also saying he dealt with continuous obnoxious road noise. is that a discrepancy? i have had my current tires balanced and rotated twice since may. is this a problem? the front two do not match the rear two. they were that way at time of vehicle purchase. vehicle has 36,000 miles. i tried to match them but it's just to expensive. the cheapest tire i could find in size p215-55-r16 is $98...?????  view

Underhood fire starting in the cruise control switch on the master cylinder, which i saved for investigation. i happened to be outside, saw the smoke and flames and was able to extinguish it before major destruction occurred. the flames were coming from that switch.  view

This is a known problem here is a copy of what is wrong with my 2001 chevy suburban 4x4 2500 nhtsa action number : pe05020 manufacturer : general motors corp. component : service brakes, hydraulic:antilock date investigation opened : april 28, 2005 date investigation closed : open summary: in november 2004, gm notified odi that it was recalling approximately 150,000 model year 1999-2002 c/k model trucks in eastern canada to correct a condition in the antilock brake system (abs) that may result in unwanted abs activation and increased stopping distances during low-speed brake applications. gm indicated that the condition can occur if corrosion forms under the wheel speed sensor and moves the sensor away from the integral speed-sensor toothed ring. the condition does not set any abs codes nor does it illuminate the abs warning lamp. gm's recall procedure involved removing the wheel speed sensors, cleaning the sensor mounting surfaces on the bearings, applying zinc-x to the cleaned surfaces, greasing the mounting surfaces, reinstalling the speed sensors, and verifying that the wheel speed signal output voltages were within specification. gm reported a failure rate of 0.32 incidents per thousand vehicles in the vehicles covered by the recall in canada. gm indicated that the corresponding rate in u.s. corrosion states was 0.03 iptv and that it would continue to monitor that experience. odi has received 120 complaints involving my 1999-2002 c/k trucks in u.s. salt belt states, which appear to be related to the defect condition addressed by gm's safety recall in canada. twenty-two of the complaints allege that a crash occurred, including one that involved 6 vehicles and resulted in 4 injuries. a preliminary evaluation has been opened to assess the incident frequency and trend associated with the wheel speed sensor condition in the united states.  view

I purchased a hyundai sonata 2005 about a month a 1/2 ago well after a month of driving the car i started having some problems with the car. one of the problems i started having was under the dashboard, it gets hot on my legs and the passenger side gets hot also it gets so hot that i have to turn on my air to cool it off. my radio started making noise it would sound like someone was blowing into the speakers. and from time to time my brakes will squeak. i took it to the dealer and just because these things didn't happen when they checked it out they told me nothing was wrong with the car. i was also told when the problems start again to bring it back to the dealer but what if the dealer is closed or once i get there the problems stop? i could be out of town when the problems start again. and they did start again wednesday night when i picked my daughter up from work i had my windows down and had to turn the air on so it could cool of under the dashboard. the people at the dealership really made me mad.  view

Dt: contact stated the abs warning light was on at all times. there was no problem with the braking capabilities of the vehicle. the service dealer stated this vehicle was not covered under a recall. manufacturer said the same thing. there were two recalls nhtsa 99v193000 and manufacturer's recall 19990719 on this component, but consumer's vehicle was not covered under the recall. the service dealer suggested bringing the vehicle in and putting it on the diagnostic test to determine the cause of the abs light illuminating.  view

Turn signals on my 2001 chevy malibu stopped working. the bulbs aren't burned out so must be an electrical problem (i'm guessing) at first the signals would work for a few days then stop for a day but now its been 4 days and the signals don't work at all. also the air conditioning system doesn't "blow" on levels 1-4 only on level 5.  view

This is stated on my work order as "generic recall".on date below i took my 04 corvette to the dealer for this work to be done. the c-5 generation has had chronic problems with the steering wheel continuing to be locked after inserting the key. many motorists have been stranded in bad situations with this feature. there was a recall for the auto. trans. that removed the plate from the steering column so the steering wheel would no longer lock. the wisdom being the vehicle would be in park anyway and not easy to steal. what they did for us with straight shifts was reprogram it so if the column locked up the fuel would be shut off. i want to state at this point my car has not locked up 13,00 miles but i don't like the odds being against me. we are dealing with a relay and a sliding pin that has a history over time being problematic. there are products on the after market that some people have purchased but i am reluctant to buy one my self because i've heard 1 they won't work if you have let the dealer do the reprogramming 2 they could screw up the computer at big$$$$ or 3 if this damn thing ever locks up with me at speed i want g m totally on the hook .gm wants to say this is not a safety issue but if there is something with a car that over time has proved to strand people in areas that are not safe to be stranded in the times we live in your safety is involved. let me give you an example of how i look at this. lets say i knowingly have a tire that has a slow leak and i don't repair it then one day it suddenly leaks fast and i am in a dangerous situation then i'm real stupid. we are caught in a bad situation the facts are out there. most owners would probably be glad to sign a release not to hold g m responsible if our car is stolen if they remove our locking plates i know i would. remember they did for the automatics ,they never would if this was not a problem . my biggist concern continues to be can this damn thing lock up at speed. remember murphys law. please help us .  view

I was driving my vehicle and my shifter knob fell off in my hand. the shifter failed to go into second and fourth gear. i had the car towed to the dealer and the whole shifter shaft had to be replaced.  view

I was involved (along w/ passenger) in a hit and run accident. the driver of the other car turned right. when i saw that the car had successfully turned i accelerated to 45-50 mph. when i came upon the road, which the car had turned, the other car did a complete "u turn" and came out onto the main road going the oposite direction. i tried to stop but it was too late. i hit the back passanger door on the driver's side. my car came to a complete hault. when i struck the other car, the air bags did not deploy. unfortunately, my car was totaled. i complained of back and pelvic pain, passanger hit head on dash board. we were transported to hospital where we were treated and released. luckily neither the passenger or myself were not severly injured. i had orders from e.r doctor to stay home from work for three days.  view

I have witnessed several incidents of infants and children who have become hysterical with terror, with screaming and crying, when they are strapped into a car seat. infants and children placed in a car seat with the high chair design, with the bar coming over the child's or infant's head similar to a high chair, do not appear to become upset. i was wondering if the mental health of infants and children a primary concern regarding the car safety seats. i also would like to know if any psychological or psychiatric association are aware of this situation. the mothers i have approached appear to be unaware there is a psychological problem with the car safety seats, even though their baby or child is obviously protesting getting strapped into place. i would like to know whether or not any university research has been conducted on this subject. and, if so, i would like to receive information about their study, including statistics.  view

New honda 2005 crv lx awd. vehicle drifted to right of road and pulls to the right with acceleration, more acceleration = harder pull. it is bad. honda dealer performed 2 tsbs to correct (tire change out and upper spring seal angle) but neither fixed problem (they admit there is a problem still and are waiting for honda engineering to call them. they also checked 2 other crvs on their lot and both had the same problem) this is a potential safety issue -- imagine cruise on, up a hill and the vehicle downshifs from 5th to 3rd to regain speed, pulling, causing the un-alert driver to change lanes/off-road, or to over compensate one-handed.  view

Ignition started to stick and on 8/5/05 the ignition would not turn key broke off had to pay lock smith to come out and take key out that was 125 dollars. now i have to take the car to the dealer and have them fix the ignition but to get it there the car has to be towed. this has happened to a numerous amount of cars and ford will do nothing about it.  view

Ever since this truck was new it feels as though some component in the front end suspension is loose, i can feel it through the steering column. five trips to the dealer to find and correct the problem have resulted in: nothing out of specs on the first visit; replaced the front shocks on the second visit; replaced the rack and pinion assembly on the third visit; replaced the upper ball joints on the fourth visit; and aligned the steering column on the fifth visit. looking though the consumer complaint section i found many other consumers with the same exact complaint with their dakota trucks.  view

The front driver side coil spring broke in half during normal driving conditions, and punctured my tire. as i've called around, i have heard multiple reports from auto repair technicians that this happens all of the time. a quick search of internet articles seems to substantiate their claim. had this occurred while driving at normal speeds (i was turning into a driveway) the sudden puncture could have easily resulted a fatal crash.  view

Audi jack came with my 2004 audi a4 quattro sedan broke while putting a wheel. i was in the parking lot so the surface is flat. i use the use the jack that came with my car to jack up the car so that i can replace my wheel. the jack broke as i was putting on the wheel trying to align the holes to put back the bolts. the jack just snapped luckily my fingers and hand did not get caught and i was not under the car. the jack was broke today august 5, 2005 at around 4:00pm pacific time. i got to the dealership 10 minutes to 5:00pm and the service rep told me that all the technician have gone home for the day and they ask me to contact audi usa. i cannot reach audi usa because they have close for the day. i will try to contact them on monday. the point to my complaint is that the jack is unsafe. please investigate the jack the come with all audi cars. there are alot of people experiencing the same problem with the audi jack. thank you, kenny,.  view

I drove the car to work and it worked fine. i finished my shift at work and when i tried to start the car to pick up my three kids i turned the key in the car made a clicking noise. it did this about five of six times. i had to tow the car to a dealer and get it checked out. they said the engine locked up and it would cost 4500 dollars to replace it. plus the 75 dollars to check the car. the car still sits outside the service center at the dealership. all oil changes were done on time as required. we have to use one car for shuttling the kids to daycare and for two different shifts of work between me and my wife.  view

Sudden loss of power - had to pull over to the side of a 65 mph highway. this happened 3 times on the same day. immediately took to my auto repair shop (kotlar) who diagnosed the problem as a bad throttle body failure. the throttle body was replaced by kotlar auto repair and then my car had to be towed to big dee volvo dealer in white plains who downloaded the appropriate software. total charges were $929.40. luckily i was in thr right hand lane with limited traffic on the highway or else this could have been a huge safety issue.  view

Dt: the consumer owns a 2002 chevrolet silverado ls 2500 hd 4 wheel drive regular cab. he was complaining about rear disc brakes. during state inspection on august 5, 2005 the consumer was told that the rear brakes wore out and needed to be replaced. vehicle had 29,800 miles on it. the rear pads wore out and the rotors were rough and needed to be turned. he then contacted manufacturer customer service, who put him through to sweeney chevrolet, and the dealer told him that because there was rust on the rear rotors the pads wore out. the consumer asked dealer why the front brakes did not wear out, and dealer did not have an answer. manufacturer will not help with bill, he was told by sweeney chevrolet that rotors could be be turned and saved. if rotors had to be replaced then they may have beeb given some assistance. a manufacturer's customer service representative called the consumer back and asked if problem was resolved, and he told her that problem still remained. unresolved. .  view

I have a 2003 chrysler sebring lx, i bought it used with 21,000 miles in march of 2004, nearly new right? since then, i have gone through 2 sets of rotors and pads for the front, 1 set of tires, passenger side lower ball joint, totaling over $700.00 for repairs, that i paid out of my pocket. the fan knob inside the car that controls the speed of the heater fan labeled 1-4, now only works on 3 and 4. now the lower tie- rod end on passenger side is bad or making a thumping noise. a nearby mechanic says that it is dry and needs lubrication but is not accessible due to chrysler not putting grease fittings on any of the important areas! i brought it to the dealership when i found it would cost $850.00 to fix. there mechanics say that they don't seem loose and nothing is going to fall a part, but just in case, since you can't just replace the tie-rod end, you have to buy the whole rack and pinion, so they supposedly have it on order. the dealer says if it has to be replaced after they look the car over good, that i would have to pay a $50.00 deductible and the warranty will cover the rest. i bought this car since i have always bought dodge/chrysler vehicles assuming it would be a safe family car since my wife is pregnant and due in november which is right around the corner! i have had the car less than a year and a half and have sunk more money in it then most vehicles 5 years or older. i have a little over 59,000 miles on it which when i bought it i got the extended warranty up to 75,000 miles. at the rate it's going, the car will lucky to make it that far. safety is my main concern when purchasing a vehicle, and this car has proven to me that it is a lemon due to the front end problems and is a hazard to my family and i. please contact me with any questions you may have. i am looking forward to hearing back from you.  view

Dt:the contact owns a 2005 cadillac srx. hls his wife parked the vehicle and the steering wheel locked. she could not get it unlocked. vehicle was towed to the cadillac dealership, and they had to unhook the linkage on the transmission in order to be able to tow the vehicle. the dealership ordered a new key assembly, and they had to remove tumbler number 3. in order to get the lock to open they had to drill the lock cylinder and remove the cylinder. dealership returned the vehicle to the contact, claiming it was fixed . however, while driving the steering would locked again and she had a hard time getting it unlocked. currently, upon turning the steering wheel back and forth one can hear a grinding noise. the vehicle was taken back to the dealership. the contact asked the dealership if they had to take the steering wheel off to correct the problem with the door open indicator, and the dealership said that they didn't. but when the contact told them he spoke with another mechanic they said that they did have to take the key assembly apart which was on the steering column to fix it . the dealership changed their claim. also, the air conditioning in the back did not work . it was taken to the dealership and they finally corrected the problem. after six times of taking the vehicle. to dealership they found that some parts in the back were unhooked and this was straight from the factory.  view

I have a 2001 dodge 2500 cummins diesel 4x4 that i take immaculate care of, and have the service records to prove it. i backed out of my parking space this week when all of a sudden i realize i have no steering. i looked under my truck at the steering linkage to see what was going on and the steering gear box had broken off the frame. the bolts that hold it on had both sheered off and cracked the mounting bracket on the gear box as well. my family and i are lucky to be alive. i contacted lithia motors and told them my situation and she insisted that i have it towed to them before any warranty would be considered. i towed it out there. i showed the service manager becky brinka one of the bolts that sheered off (the other is still stuck in the frame). when i showed her the bolt, she said she would need the bolt for her diagnosis. i told her that she could look at it but i was going to keep the bolt in my possession. she immediately became rude and unhelpful. the mechanic went out to look at my truck and came back in with the diagnosis that the bolts had sheered off. the service manager then contacted the district manager about the situation. she called me back to inform me that it was my fault. i must not service the vehicle very well. at this time i pointed out that she has my service records on file for the last 4 years and to show me where i had missed anything. she then tells me that the district manager said that i would have heard a clunking noise for a long time before this happened. so, i'm towing out of their facility. i'll have someone else fix it. meanwhile dodge gets away with murder and isn't held responsible for their safety issues. how can someone like me fight dodge? i can't get anywhere at their customer service phone#, and they are not going to give me the phone# of the district manager. what do you have to do? take them to court? i don't have time for that and they know this. they figure i'll just go away.  view

Dt: while driving on a highway the back end of the transmission mounting dropped. causing vehicle to become inoperable. it was the first time this occurred on the vehicle. the consumer was en route to an event when the parking lot attendant thought the transmission was out because the way the car was pulling in a jerking motion. upon inspection there was no transmission fluid at that time. later that evening there was a large amount of fluid that turned out to be the transmission fluid. aaa came and towed vehicle home. the vehicle has not been to a dealership but was later towed vehicle to a service repair shop. no repairs have been made as of yet. no explanation as to why this happened. consumer contacted customer service at chrysler, who inquired if she needed financial assistance to repair the transmission mount. after doing some research and then being on hold they could not offer any solution for this problem.  view

Dt: the brake pressure switch which was over the master cylinder on a 1998 ford f150 caught on fire. this, in turn, caused the brake fluid reservoir to catch on fire. it burnt two fuses and under the wheel well. this happened while the vehicle was off, and it was at the mechanic. vehicle caught on fire after sitting for a week. the mechanic had changed the motor approximately two weeks ago. the mechanic was able to put the fire out. the mechanic was the one who determined that cruise control switch caused the fire. the vehicle had already been fixed. this occurred on july 21, 2005.  view

I have a silver 2005 toyota tacoma extended cab and the paint is chipping everywhere, rockers, doors, leading edge of rear doors, a couple of spots on the windshield pillars, and in front of the rear tires feel like it got sandblasted. i complained to toyota of keene. he told me toyota told him to do whatever is necessary to fix the problem, but he is only to paint the leading edge of the read doors. the body shop told him if they pained the rest it would only chip off. i have never seen any other manufactures or other models of toyota chip like this. what will it look like at 50,000 miles. somebody please help!!!  view

The airbag light has come on while driving many times over the past two years. i have taken the car to the dealer several times. each time the dealer stated that there wasn't a code stored and that they could not get the airbag light to come on. finally, in late june of this year the light came on and stayed on, i took the carn to the dealer and they said the seat belt tensioner needed to be replaced. when i picked up the car after having the seat belt tensioner replaced the light wa off. now, less than a month later the airbag light is on again. currently the vehicle is undern warranty, but the warranty will be up in a couple of months. i can't seem to get this problem fixed, and i do not feel safe driving this vehicle.  view

Vehicle made increasingly loud noise at right rear wheel area. sounded like airplane take-off or tunnel sound at rear while driving. noise increased on wide turning roads as if some kind of pressure exerted on right rear wheel. thought it might be tire pressure problem. before having tire checked the vehicle became nearly impossible to drive on a straight-away at 25 mph with serious noise in the rear that sounded like something would fall apart soon. fortunately i was very close to a auto service center in a 25 mph area. car could no longer be used. the right rear hub bearing assembly was replaced. the other 3 were checked and were fine. i do not have any of the parts.  view

Repeated skipping and hesitation of our v70 t5 sw along with a "reduced performance error" message resulted in our going to the danbury ct dealership, where they told us the throttle and software needed replacement. the cost was $899.17. we service our car regularly and have the documentation to prove it. we have had no accidents with the car prior to this engine problem. because of widespread reports of the same problem occurring on other volvo v70 station wagons, we believe the cause of the engine skipping to be an inherent structural flaw and we request reimbursement of our expenses. the dealer who made the $899.17 repair was volvo of danbury, 203-743-4667.  view

The problem is with the aluminum alloy chrome wheels. i purchased new tires at sears in december of 2004 with all new valve stems and speed balances. approximately 2 to 3 months later, 2 & 3 tires were losing air (slowly) constantly. sears showed me that the alloy rim was deteriorating around the valve stems and that i should take it back to the dealer. because it was over the warranty mileage, the dealer (route 44 toyota in raynham, mass.) wouldn't do anything about this. i even went to the district managers office with no luck. i explained to them that all i wanted was the standard wheel for replacement with wheel covers. my point is, if tires lose the air inflation, there's likely to be "tire failure" contributing to more accidents on our national highways. i'm sure i'm not the only one with "alloy wheels" with this problem. can we do something to prevent road deaths on our highways because of these flawed "aluminum alloy wheels"?  view

Beginning in april of 2005, the engine on my 1999 volvo s70 had stalled several times. in each instance, it has restarted and operated, however, the stalls are becoming more frequent. i have read or the nhtsa's investigation into this problem, and am concerned about my vehicle's operation and repair costs.  view

I would just like to add my concern to the list of individuals who experienced stalling condition with the volvo. we own a 2000 volvo model s-80 t-6. in april of this year we were experiencing stalling conditions with our car at slow speeds mainly after a few miles of driving after the first start of the day. the car was taken to the local dealership for troubleshooting and possible repair. after a week in the shop the vehicle was returned to us and we were advised that they could not duplicate any stalling. since then we have experienced a stall condition twice and again it was within the first few miles after the initial start of the day. the car always starts and performs satisfactory afterwards. it was not an everyday occurrence, but does make one uncertain about reliability.  view

On june 12th, 2005, i purchased a 2005 chevy avalanche for my wife from bill heard chevrolet in sanford, florida. the morning after taking delivery of unit, i noticed the vehicle had problems. the vehicle would not stop/brake properly, the tires were rubbing into the front fenders and the front end wandered and pulled to the left. i called the dealership that day and spoke with the salesman. it took the dealership almost three weeks to get my vehicle into their repair facility. they had addressed there were problems with the vehicle, but they did nothing to fix the vehicle. i then returned to the dealership a week later stating my concerns to the service manager. the service manager verified the problems with the vehicle. on this visit nothing was fixed again. a week after this incident, i brought the vehicle to another chevy dealership. this dealership stated and verified the vehicle does have problems, but there was no fix for it. this dealership also stated there was a recall on this vehicle for the last five months, and stated the selling dealership never fixed the recall. again the vehicle was not repaired for the problems, but the recall was now completed by this dealership. i called the selling dealership and spoke with the service manager, the sales manager, the customer service manager, the salesman as well as others to try to have the vehicle repaired or had the purchase voided to receive my money back. no one in this dealership will help me. i then called general motors (corporate) and filed a complaint. they will not help me. today i have filed a complaint with the better business bureau, and now with your agency. i am seeking help because i feel this is a very unsafe vehicle for my family to be in.  view

Vehicle stumbled while making a left turn into my driveway i fed it gas to keep it from stalling and it accelerated rapidly into my garage door. while under warranty this problem reported to dealer but they claimed they were neve able to find a problem. the last service under extended warranty said same problem reported and this time i was charged for the test but once again they found nothing i complained to ford via their web site but they never replied to my emaili  view

I was driving on california highway 101 south when on an incline, my motor on my saturn 2000 l suddenly stopped working. i had it hauled to my saturn dealer, and was told several days later that the timing chain broke and the entire motor needed to be replaced.  view

Both of the front wheel bearings on my 2003 rendezvous have failed. they were replaced under warranty, but the first side went around 18k miles, the other side went at just over 36k miles.  view
