Dt: 01s22 ford recall. consumer had recall work done . dealer should have replaced the heater blower switch and a wire jumper harness. dealer completed work on march 15, 2002. dealer iwas mike shad ford in jacksonville, florida. last tuesday july 12, 2005 the wire jumper harness caught on fire while consumer was driving vehicle on side street, glenwood ave., at night. flames shot up from where windshield wipers were located. flame lasted a couple seconds then were gone. consumer pulled over, contacted fire department, and had vehicle towed to a dealership. dealer don jenkins ford in suquay, north carolina. consumer contacted insurance company and they said it was a defect so they would not pay. consumer found on nhtsa website that ford offered a warranty on this recall of 10 years from original date of sale or 150,000 miles. when she contacted ford they told her that warranty was only 100,000 miles and nhtsa website information was incorrect. ford will not fix vehicle for consumer.

Dt: 1996 subaru outback caller complained about the fuel injection .system. when starting the car it shut off again. when driving it didn't have any speed, the speed odometer was 60 mph when going 40 mph. sometimes it will pick up speed and sometimes it won't. took vehicle to dealer and he would not work on this car. the car will not accelerate, and he would not listen . the car was parked on the road side now and it will not run. the car vibrated when trying to start the car today. and the car will not start. this has been happening for the last two weeks and today the car just died.

Prior to this incident i had no indication of a problem with the steering or suspension system. on the evening of june 9, 2005 as i was braking and attempting to make a right turn into a parking lot i noticed that my truck seemed to skid. at first i thought it was the abs system since the road was wet. there was a vehicle in front of me, but i was able to stop without running into any other vehicle. because i did not realize what the problem was at that time i continued into the parking lot, and made another right turn into the parking space. at that time the truck did the same thing; it felt as though it was skidding. when i got out of the vehicle i noticed that the front driver and front passenger tires were pointed in different directions, so i knew that a tie rod had come detached. after towing the truck home i inspected it, and realized that the passenger inner tie rod had separated at the ball joint. inspection of the joint revealed that both pieces were significantly rusted. i have replaced the inner and outer tie rod ends on both sides as a precaution, since i did not know if the others would do the same thing.

Front wheel bearings failed at about 6500 miles. motorcycle started lurching and i pulled over to the side and one of the front wheel bearings was almost totally destroyed. there wasn't a screeching sound or anthing to warn me that the bearings were failing prior to this. this is a known problem to owners of the suzuki af650 but suzuki has not addressed it. suzuki did replace the bearing. initially they told me to pay for it because it was a bearing that's considered a "wear item." later the dealer reimbursed me for the cost of the bearing and labor.

Re2002 regal #2g4wb55k821142434 i purchased this car new from ken nelson buick dealer ship in dixon, il. i have been a buick car enthusiast for many, many years, but i find this design and manufacture not to be up to my expectations. i am very disappointed with what the lou bachrodt dealership claims is federally mandated restrictions on parts manufacture, which are not as durable as on my previous 1994 regal, which i had for eight years, with none of these problems. the brakes are not asbestos anymore and are prone to rusting out, and need to be replaced all too early. the plastic materials of the other parts is not made for reliability nor durability. in september 2003 there was a recall #030334 for installing new nuts and tablets . i have the part numbers. mileage 19135. september 2004 there was noise from rear brakes, and for which the rotors had rusted and had to be refaced; mileage 29489. this should not be necessary on a new car with this low mileage. june 2005 there was a problem with steering. it seemed as tho there were loose bolts in the front wheels. the dealer lou bachrodt (they have done all these repairs) said the shaft of the steering column was disintegrating and had no grease. mileage 37631. they had to replace the intermediate steering shaft, to the tune of $789.79. this amount includes fuel injector system cleaning; transmission flush service and tune up and replacement of the plenum gasket which they stated was leaking. lou bachrodt service manager states they have not yet had a recall for this steering column shaft problem, but i believe i could have lost control of my car and caused a very bad accident to others, as well as myself from this bad new design and manufacture.

Dt: when making a right turn at a speed of about 20-25 mph the steering wheel kept turning but the wheels were not moving. this was the first time anything like this happened. this caused the consumer to hit a parked car. the car was extensively damaged, but has not been totaled by the insurance company. insurance company instructed a mechanic to inspect the steering wheel, it was noted there was problem with the shaft which broke and therefore caused the accident. the mechanic said he had never seen anything like this before. it was noted by the mechanic, and the insurance company as a defective steering on the car involving the shaft. mechanic said he must repair vehicle to determine if there was other issues within the steering or suspension. as of yet no repairs have been made. the consumer stated he and the owner of the other vehicle did not think it was necessary to file a police report since the damage was minimal.

While driving my 2001 95 saab at approximately 40 mph the engine abruptly died in traffic , this i found out was due to the di module , it appears that many saabs are having this issue according to my dealer, they have had many failures recently with no warning(s) to the driver. fortunatley i was able to pull to the side of the rod to avoid any collision. i strongly feel that this should be investigated as a safety hazard and a recall for all saab 9-5 vehicles be generated , as i am sure many of these instances are not reported

On two seperate occasions while driving my 2002 ford f150 harley-davidson pickup there was a loud bang from under the hood then vehicle would barely run.turns out that i blew a spark plug out of the cylinder head each of the two times.both times were the right side head and the were the rear two plugs.seems like a lot of other people are experiencing the same problem but ford will not acknowledge it.this is a safety issue as it happens whether on the highway or streets.

Dt: consumer received recall 04v021000, on march 15, 2005. she had called dealer to arrange for repairs, but they told her to bring the vehicle in at her convenience. the recall work was never performed. on may 7, 2005 she was picking her daughter and while the vehicle was in park it went down a small hill in a parking lot and traveled at least 200-300 feet. the vehicle was also turned off. this happened so fast she could not remember whether the brakes worked at that time. there was a telephone pole that stopped the vehicle. upon impact, the airbags did not deploy, and the seat belts did not restrain the passengers. the passengers head went through the windshield and her knees hit the dash board. the driver's right rotor cuff and neck were injured. there was $8700 worth of damage to the vehicle, and it was totaled. the manufacturer stated that they could not do anything about it. a inspector from daimler chrysler inspected vehicle on may 12, 2005 at 2 pm. he never spoke to the consumer, but the manufacturer sent a report.

Driver side seat belt refused to release on a 1989 chevrolet 2500 pickup. fortunately no accident or fire occured before i forced it open. plastic part inside the latch failed. the passenger belt failed some time ago and it was replaced at no charge by chevrolet. will they still honor the warantee ?

I went to have my oil change at the garage,i told the mechanic i could hear a hissing noise from under neat,like a noise from the muffler.when he checked he said the catalytic converter was split open,he told me to bring it to the dealer,it should be covered under the pollution control.when i got to the dealer he checked it out and told me ,it was called a tube or a pipe not a catalyitic converter not covered under warr.,but nissan sold a patch to repair this,at the time i had around 44,528 mi.on my pathfinder just over the 36,000 mi warr.so i called nissan to explain the problem and told them i was a loyal customer after bying 3 pathfinder and my wife 2 maxima,i don't seem to have gotten anywhere but sorry.i was told that a regional rep.was going to call,but we never connected.the service mgr.at nissan told me they were aware of the problem,that i was not the first,i hope this will do some good maybe get my money back.repair work done on 6/18/05.thank you

I have a 1996 f-150 that the cruise control quit working onseveral months ago. yesterday, the fuse that supplies power to the "brake pressure switch" blew. i found brake fluid in the electrical connector of the "brake pressure switch." why is this vehicle not part of the recall for this part? my dealer syas he has a replacement switch, but i am hesitant to buy. think i'll just leave it unplugged for now.

I bought a chevy trailblazer in march of 2004, brand new. in november 2004 i smelled a strong odor of gas fumes and took it to the dealership for repairs, they fixed the gas odor, but it did occur to me that my trailblazer may have been causing the severe headaches i had been having since march of 2004. my headaches did decrease in frequency then cease after i quit driving the trailblazer. my husband then started driving the trailblazer. after some discussion about the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning, he was tested and the lab results did confirm that he was toxic. my trailblazer now sits in the driveway and i keep making payments on a vehicle that poisoned me and my family. general motors has been notified and they do not care. please, please help me with this situation.

My 2003 ford expedition was parked on an incline with the parking brake set. the vehicle rolled down the hill and hit a building. it damaged the building and the vehicle(yet to be determined in amount). took the vehicle to the ford dealership to have it fixed and they found nothing wrong. called the ford satisfaction line and they are looking into it. the truck should not roll down an incline in park. i watched the vehicle roll. i refuse to place my 3 children back in the vehicle until the transmission can be fixed. i believe there is a defect in the transmission that it would allow the vehicle to roll.

Nissan altima's radiators need to be recalled. i have a 2003 v6 and i do every maintence possible. the radiator leaked and caused extensive engine damaged. i contacted nissan corporate office and noone seems to be concerned even though this happens quite frequently. i broke down on the innerstate and i could have been hit from the back by another car. the service manager jeff evans at hall nissan in newportnews, va 757 369-6600 says he had to replace a radiator in one altima three times. i don't know why no one has recalled this but i hope this message gets to as many people as possible. let everyone know that the new altima may look nice but that's about all it's worth. it's just eye candy and they obviously spent more time one the outside instead of what's most important "the inside". who wants to ride around in a car with their kids that is subject to break down? my car is still in the shop and it will cost my out of my pocket $2500. please research this and get this message to everyone it may affect. also i want to add that noone from nissan wanted to take responsibility for the repairs even though they are aware of the problem. i think they don't want to recall the part because they are too busy trying to sell the new 2005 model. thanks!

I experienced ramdom failure of the headlights on my dodge caravan. i brought this to the attention of my dealer and they said they "could not duplicate concern". i was told the cause was probably the "front control module" but they would not replace it because they were not positive it was the cause, and because of the cost of the part. after this occured the second time i took it to my own mechanic and he replaced the module at a cost of $307.05. the replacement occured 9/15/2004. i have had no similat problems since the module was replaced. i had purchaced the extended warrenty with the vehicle but i was told by the dealer the module was not covered by the policy. it covers 7 different named control modules but not this one. i called chrysler and registered a complaint-#12641005.

In september 2004 i took my 2004 nissan maxima in for some warranty work, and scheduled maintainence. i advised that my front end felt funny, i eventually had to bring it back in for the skyroof recall and again advised that the car still felt rough, i was advised it was just from the tire rotation and would eventually smooth out, it never did. the skyroof started leaking and it took three more trips to get it fixed, every time i took my car in i told the service dept. that the car still felt rough. on june 15, 2005 i took my car back in for the 30,000 mile maintainence. the service dept. called and said all four of my tires were coming apart on the inside sidewall, the tires were actually splitting the entire circumfrence of all four tires. they said they had never seen tires split like that. the service dept. called goodyear and were told they were having a few problems with those tires and would sell me new ones for $900.00 the dealer declined that price and goodyear came up with a price of $550.00 for new tires i was called and told of the final price and advised the dealer i would be contacting an attorney. then dealer then called me back and said they had a set of tires and rims they would sell me for $400.00 i agreed because i was leaving for a trip to indiana the next morning. the tires that they put on my car were the same exact goodyear eagle rs-a p245/45r18 that were defective. my husband called a friend at a local tire dealership and was told they were seeing alot of those same problems with the goodyear eage rs-a. i cannot believe that a company would endanger the lives of the very consumers that buy and trust their products to be safe. i sent a letter to nissan north american consumer affairs dept on june 20, 2005 documenting all the problems, and have had no response so i have turned to you for some guidance as to my rights to be warned and protected when they know there is the potential for diaster with their product.

My son had 1 1992,1995,2000 godge minnevan all 3 fuel pumps failed in the fuel tank i have a 1995 motor home tiago 24 foot i am going to replace the fuel pump in th fuel tank as they say a lot of them are failing in hot weather i lived in alaska till 3 years ago will be traveling to mn this summer were it gets hot i feel ford should pay for the fuel pump i was driving my sons van and about 5 miles out of billings montana the engine stopped and i was on the freeway so that is no nice to happen kennard peterson

Driving along rural road at 35 to 40 mph, 2005 chrysler pacifica stalled going around a bend. car was maneuvered to side of road and restarted. chrysler dealer claims they cannot fix the problem since the problem cannot be reproduced. 2004 pacificas were recalled with same problem. several complaints have been filed wtih nhtsa with 2005 pacificas with the exact same problem. chrysler corp. claims they have never heard of the problem with the 2005 model even though 2 complaints have filed with nhtsa and both complaintants stated that they had been to their chrysler dealer for service.

Dt: the vehicle 2002 honda acura 3.2 tl type s, there had been a recall on the transmission concerning the second gear. consumer took vehicle to the dealer the first time they repaired it. the vehicle was fine for a little while and then the problem recurred. he took it back to a dealer, and they repaired it again. they repaired the recall three times. the fourth time a dealer told the consumer that he could not hear the problem with the vehicle. he told the consumer, that maybe they just switched it the last three times to make him happy. the part was still under warranty because every time the part was replaced it got an extended warranty for 100,000 miles. consumer contacted the manufacturer, who told him to take vehicle to the dealership. and then the acura representative refused to see consumer. the first dealership that did repairs was acura of brookfield 191800 west bluemound road brookfield, wi 53045 262-785-1918. the second and third was acura of libertyville 1620 south milwaukee ave. libertyville, il 847-680-7333, and the fourth was david hobbs honda 6100 north green bay ave. glendale, wi 53209 414-352-6100, and this was the same dealer where consumer purchased vehicle.

Dt: ford 450 2004,a braking systemproblem. consumer took vehicle to ford dealership and they repaired pressure release valve. consumer found that the vehicle was still dripping brake fluid even after taking to dealership, consumer took to the dealership again, dealership said they could find no problem. consumer noticed red fluid still dripped. dealer said it was residual fluid which continued to drip for two weeks. problem stopped. then when consumer had to make a sudden stop the brakes would not work.

Upon turning my directional on to make the left hand turn it hessitated to come on while the directional still stayed down to go left. after about 10 seconds the directional came on and smoke came out of the steering column as well as a stream of smoke out of the hazard lights button on the steering column. i shut the directional off and the smoke stopped and cleared away. i proceeded to my destination which was about 100 yards away not using the directional again. i called my dealership where i purchased the vehicle from and they said it sounded like the "turn signal switch fried." being that the dealership was only about 20 yards away they came and picked my vehicle up giving me a loaner vehicle to use. they told me the part had to be ordered and that it was going to cost about $120.00 for the part and labor. i hung up with them and was not happy. that evening after discussing the matter with my father he and i felt it should not be my responsiblity to pay this amount on a defective part that could have caused serious injury. that next morning i pick up my vehicle and asked the bill to be billed and mailed to my dads business, he owns a napa auto parts store. after having showed my father the bill and he called two other ford dealerships, that he knows and does business with. he told them my situation and they informed us that it is a "common problem" and that they fix the problems for their customers at no expense to the customer. after fighting tooth and nail all day with my dealerships manager and parts manager the dealerships manager said he would throw the bill out and not charge me because we are good customers. why would two other dealerships perform this at no cost and mine want to charge me? my father has also contacted ford and spoke with a representative about this and he was going to get back to us. why isn't their a recall on this?

(2) i had the vehicle checked by two different mechanics who both informed me that the transmission was failing. (3) the transmission had to be replaced completely at a cost to me of approximately $2800.

The vehicle was being driven at roughly 35 miles per hour when the tachometer suddenly surged and the vehicle began to loose speed. the transmission had obviously failed to engage. putting the transmission into 2nd gear allowed the transmission to re-engage and the vehcile began to surge forward. an attempt was made to drive the vehicle to a dealership about 7 or 8 miles away. the transmission continued to to engage and disengage for the next several miles. finally, it disengaged one last time and did not engage again. since it was on a main street, the vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road of a side street. the vehicle was towed to kreiger ford in columbus ohio. this took place a friday. the dealership was informed that a complaint was made about the transmission slipping and then thudding into gear on 1st to 2nd gear shifts on a service call prior to the experation of the warranty. at that time the dealership assured the owner that there was nothing wrong with the transmission. on this incident, not only did the car have to be towed in, but the dealership was also informed that the motor on the rear window wiper had failed and the cd player would no longer eject the cds. on monday the dealership called to inform the owner that the transmission had totally failed and would have to be replaced at a cost of $3500. within an hour the dealership called back and said the ford was willing to put a rebuilt transmission into the vehicle, repair the wiper motor, do the 60,000 mile maintnenace, extend the drivetrain warranty to 100,000 miles, and repair the cd player for $1500. this is preposterous. no transmission should fail at 61,000 miles. and after reading the incidents reported here, it is becoming apparent that there is a problem with the transmission on the escape.

While driving on i 75, i suddenly felt as if i had no control of my car. i said something to the girl riding in the passenger seat that there was something wrong with the car. we watched as we drifted slowly into the right lane into a huge semi!! after hitting his cab (thank goodness we didn't hit further back and go under the truck), the car went to the left and i stopped on the left shoulder of the highway. it felt a little like when you hydro-plane (it was not raining), but i couldn't explain what happened. i thought maybe my right front tire had blown out, but the entire right front had been shredded by the truck. i was charged with the accident for failing to keep my car under control. i have been sued for property damage ($100,000) to the truck and now i am being sued for his personal injuries. i sent your info about the volvo investigation to the insurance adjuster. i was without my car for weeks. i bought the volvo because i wanted the safest car and now realize that my son's girlfriend and i easily could have been killed that day.

I was driving home from washington state, and noticed that my driver's side rear tire tread was seperating from the sidewall and steal. my son then found that the passanger rear was doing the same thing. i had to call home and find the closest place to replace the tires. eugene. or. was the closest and it was 49 miles. about 15 miles outside of eugene, the tread on the drivers side was thrown off of my car and caused damage to my van. i regained control and got the car to costco where i replaced all 4 tires.

We had purchased uniroyal tires in october 2002 from farm and fleet in la crosse. as of august 4, 2005, all the tires needed to be replaced due to the tires cracking and peeling. we took the car to sears where they told us they would not let us drive the car due the severity of the peeling of the tires. driving our car with the tires in the poor condition could cause and accident and injury. i started having a panic attack after hearing this news. we were told that this is not normal for tires to shred, crack, and peel at only 40,000 miles. i called farm and fleet where we bought the tires and he told me "too bad" and hung up on me. i called uniroyal and she said it is not their problem if our tires cracked, that's what tires do. these tires that cracked, peeled, and shredded have a 75,000 miles warranty, noone will honor this warranty and we had to spend over $400 buying new tires.

There was nothing leading up to the engine stalling out, it just happened all of a sudden. i have had a sudden loss of speed/ power to vehicle in the past and also just recently...along with no ability to steer while driving in highway traffic and then the vehicle will just stall out completely in the middle of traffic, unable to restart until the car feels like cranking up again. i took the vehicle to a volvo repair shop and the mechanic could find a problem but a week later the same thing happened again. the stalling happens sporadically, so you just never know when it will happen next.

2004 dodge durango ltd. 5.7 hemi fails to start, after several attempts and stepping on the gas, the car starts, but idles very rough. dealer (stanley motors, old saybrook ct) could not fix the problem, after having the car for seven days- they installed new valve springs. the car is still not starting easily, and is idling very rough, condition seems to be getting worse. i'm concerned there will be long term damage to the engine, and i will be left stranded with the family.

($114.90). 4/05 (51,646 mi) low coolant light /check engine light coming on. same independent repair shop replaced intake gaskets, thermostat, spark plugs and filter, and oil pump shaft 0-ring. corrected air bag light ($791.03) 6/05 purchased new tires and were told needed all new tie rods. we went on vacation july 9, 2005 (ohio to virginia and back). concerned that the van shook terribly when applying the brakes on long downgrades through wv and va. we were towing nothing. the very next day, after returning home, the van would not start consistently. 7/05 (56,533 mi) told that the computer crashed. same independent repair shop replaced ecm, crank sensor, ign module and machined front rotors which if you remember were just done in july of 2004 ($982.02). after researching the track record of pontiac montana, have found that many consumers having the same problems.

The brake pedal in our 04 f150 was not depressed and our 5 year-old hit the shift and the truck went into reverse at a high speed. the truck is supposed to be equipped with a brake-shift interlocking feature that did not work. the truck is severely damaged, there was property damage, i called ford and they are not accepting any responsibility for this and said that our insurance paid 900. so they will not fix the problem or repair the damaged vehicle.

Failure of cruise control to kick down after reaching desired speed and to kick back in when going below desired speed. also if cruise control is not turned off before turning engine off it will continue to draw current and run battery down. this has not caused any accidents yet but has caused two close calls. i stopped using the cruise control until it is fixed.

Dt: the consumer owns a dutchman travel trailer and it is showing excessive wear on the second groove on the inside tread on all of the tires. these tires have only 3,500 miles on them. the consumer consulted with the dealer who agreed that there was excessive wear on the tires and stated that the problem was with the travel trailers. these tires have not been replaced. the consumer felt that he should not be responsible due to inadequate tire wear pattern. 2004 explorer exhibited signs of not shifting smoothly into reverse as early as aug/sep 04. pronounced delay of shifting into reverse around 2004 holiday season. called dealership upon receipt of letter from ford in january, but transmission additive not yet available. after additive (march 05), vehicle continued to jump into reverse and forward shifting at lower speeds became more pronounced. this presents a hazard particular in city driving and in backing out of tight parking areas. have been working with dealer to anaylze proper repair and manufacturer's responsibility. no satisfactory resolution yet.

Complete transmission failure on 2 separate occasions within 3 years. 1st failure at 67,000 under normal freeway driving in 2002. while enroute to work in the morning, the transmission froze. 67.000 miles later at 134,000 the 2nd transmission froze under normal driving on the interstate. both times i was in a lot of traffic creating a very dangerous situation as i started immediate and unexpected slowing. on the initial failure, fortuntely a highway patrolman was able to safley stop traffic and get me off the freeway. i was later towed to valencia acura where they did replace the transmission under warranty. i was able to borrow my mothers car to get to and from work while they repaired my car. the most recent failure i was stuck 80 miles from las vegas, nevada in the hot desert. it cost me $480.00 to be towed to the local acura in las vegas and was stranded over night, losing a days work. i had only planned and was prepared for a day trip to primm, nevada on my off day. i was forced to rent a car for $50.00 and get a hotel room. the local dealer said the 2nd and 3rd gears had frozen and he would charge me $7000.00 to repair the transmisson. that was outrageous so i had to rent a truck and trailer at a total cost of $450.00 to tow my car back home. then i had to pay to have it towed to my dealer, valencia acura, where i purcased the car new and have had all my major services,except oil changes, done. most recently i had the 100,000 mile service done there. i was never told by acura that this model of car has a faultly transmission destined to unexpcted failure. i had no idea and would never expect they would replace one defective transmission with another that would fail at exactly the same mileage. currently, my car is sitting at the dealer with no known date of repair as acura is unwilling to repair or replace the current defective transmission under warranty.

On july 6,2005 my 1994 ford f150 truck was in my driveway. i had driven my vehicle earlier that morning. was parked in my driveway and was told by a neighbor that my truck was on fire. extinguished the fire and had it towed to dealer. was informed that the cruise control deactivation switch overheated and caused it to burn up the master cylinder along with it. the paint on my hood was burned off. i was informed of a problem with this part catching on fire. my vehicle is a 1994. the recall is on 1995. i believe this is also affecting the 94's.

Diesel fumes came out of passenger air vents making myself nautious and sick from co2 poisoning. bought it in to the ford dealer and service manager smelled the problem, said that there might be a problem with the y flange on exhaust manifold. called back and pulled manifold and didnt see a problem was going to order a new one. says not an uncommon problem.

While traveling on central expressway in dallas us75 going about 65 my lexus rx300 lost forward acceleration as cars zoomed past me, the engine was still on as i managed to safely exit onto the access road and into a parking lot. i turned the vehicle off and checked for leaks or a broken belt, but found no problem. i restarted the vehicle and kept going. i talked to the lexus dealer in plano but service dept. was closed and they reffered me to take it into my austin dealer. i was told that without a check engine light nothing would be found. i continued to drive my vehicle and while on another trip it lost forward acceleration again, only to find out it was the transmission. i had to replace it , rent a car and then fly back to a toyota dealer to pick it up.

2005 dodge hemi durango has on 5 separate occassions stalled while at idle or very low speed. vehicle can be immediately restarted. i am thankful all episodes have been at low speeds. dealer claimed they were unaware of this problem.

Abs and brake lights are on. i was told that the abs speed sensor of the left front wheel (part# 5166544-aa - description :sensor an 5005005) was on backorder. after waiting a month long, the missing part came to the repairing dealer but this time i was told that the right front wheel had the same problem and the part was again on backorder

Dt: the consumer states that he had manufacturer's recall 040006 repairs performed on 2000 chevrolet corvette. since the recall there was a light on the disc, bringing up a code that said to remove key for 10 seconds, the other one service column lock. the owner had not had any problems prior to the recall being performed. this problem was intermittent. the owner had taken the car back to the dealership, the dealer wanted to be paid for the use of the computer on the owner's car. the owner thought that the relay switch that was installed was faulty. the owner contacted the manufacturer and filed a complaint with them. gm said that they were aware that there is a problem, but there was no fix for it. vehicle was shutting the fuel off when the disc displayed the remove key light for 10 seconds. after the light came on. stopped and turned off the car, removed the key from the car and then restarted the car. the owner called the dealer again today. the dealer still wanted to charge for the correction on the car. consumer maintained there should be no charge for recalls that were performed and did not work. consumer stated that prior to recall the vehicle was more unsafe than before.

January 27, 2005, my truck was taken to dealership d/t loud metal grinding in the left front wheel(driver's side). the brakes and rotors were replaced. the sound continued and was taken back to dealership february 2, 2005 and the bearing was "cleaned out". may 7, 2005 while driving on interstate the left front wheel felt like i hit something. when i got off the interstate there was a burning smell. rounding a curve at 25 mph the hub and then the axel broke. the truck was not drivable and was towed by aaa to the dealership. it was repaired and i was told it was d/t the after-market wheels.

I purchased a corolla ce in oct 2003. i had not had the car more than a month when i started to smell a sulfer(rotten egg) smell. i cotinued to smell this and it did not go away so i took it to the dealer. the dealer showed me a buliten that stated it was not the converter. the dealer then told me that american gas has too much sulfer content and the toyota addmissions were at a higher level then the american gas. i now have 15,000 miles on my car and the smell is still there. i went to trade it in today to get a corolla s model. the deal is not made yet, because i have read that the 2005 corollas have the same problems.

Where do i even start with the 1999 catera that i just had to trade in this weekend due to so many things that had went wrong with that car. 1st, when filling the car up with gas, it would not automatically shut off. dealer fixed 1st time, but messed up the gas gauge. it started doing it again 1 month later. you could not keep a set of tires on the car no matter how many alignments that you had performed. the sunroof would not open most of the time when you tried to open it, but it would open on it's own at random. dealer replaced the switch twice, problem still occurred. the transmission went out at 60k and had to be replaced due to the * light flashing. the first radio would not pick up any stations, the radio was replaced by the dealer. 4k later after warranty expired, it happened again. at 65k, the cd player would no longer work. the locks would not completely lock with the remote or when the car was put into gear. at 90k, the drivers side heated seat literally caught fire while driving and burned a 4" diameter hole in front bolster. gm stated that this is "normal wear and tear, but normally, they just stop functioning. they would not pay for the repairs of the seat at all. almost caused me to wreck the car as the acbin quickly filled with smoke and as soon as i cracked the window, the fire started to get larger as it got more air to feed it. the check engine light showed cylinder misfires and i was told that it would be $2500 to $5000 to repair it. i traded the car on 6/11/05 for a new 2005 chevy silverado extended cab. i hope that gm reads this and calls me at the number i provided so i can provide more detailed info on this. i was literally screwed on this car. it was a lemon from the start and no one seemed to care!
