1996 DODGE VIPER User Comment / Complaint

2002 chevrolet express engine lost power and rear brakes caught on failed. the converter was clogged which resulted in the engine losing power. the check service engine soon light illuminated and the engine missed on acceleration. the dealer replaced the plug wire cap rotor and distributor. the consumer heard a scrapping noise coming from the rear brakes and vehicle shook while braking. there was vibration in the driveline on acceleration, the belt was replaced. vehicle consumed excessive amounts of oil. fluid leaked from rear axle, dealer replaced the rear axle seals. the dealer replaced the fuel sender assembly due to stalling. the vehicle battery went dead after the vehicle sat overnight. clutch was loud and provided no power on hot days, the clutch fan was replaced. the consumer request that the manufacturer provide a replacement vehicle or refund the full contract price plus incidental cost.  view

Evenflo model# 3271451p1, dom 03-16-2004. consumer noticed that the strap retainer clip was very difficulty to adjust. while adjusting the strap retainer clip it broke . consumer will contact the manufacture in the near future.  view

Steady braking performance degradation since new, in conjuction with premature rear brake failure @ 28000 mi (2.5 yrs old), while front brakes still had over 50% remaining pad life. dealer stated that rear rotor rust caused rear pad failure. inspection of rear pads indicate other problems-uneven front to rear wear on lr inner pad .018" -.044", while lr outer pad had no brake material left. rr outer pad had slight grooving across top with thickness between .110-.118", rr inner pad had grooving top and bottom, with between .122-.151" thickness pad material left.  view

My durango accelerates for no reason at all while it is stopped. it happens most frequently after going up a small hill in drive and then putting the car in reverse. when the car is put in reverse it accelerates.  view

The crankshaft sheared off directly behind the harmonic balancer, the truck has only 70,000 miles, will require major engine work to fix. it broke under normal acceleration conditions.  view

While driving at various speeds steering wheel shook real hard while applying the brakes. took vehicle to dealer for service, and dealer determined it was determined tha tit was warped brake rotors.  view

The o-rings in the fuel pump have apparently failed according to huffines jeep in plano, tx. they have told me that a technical service bulletin has been issued for the o-rings since 1999. i do not feel i should have to pay for the repairs of an obviously faulty part. my vehicle only has 65,000 miles on it.  view

(1) i turned left into a parking from sitting still in a turn lane. approx. 3 car lengths into this parking lot both of the front air bags deployed in my automobile. there was no impact. the police were notified and their response was that because there was no vehicle damage etc. there wasn't anything for them to do. they then referred me to this site to fill out a complaint. (2) all three occupants had to be seen in the er. (3) nissan was contacted; they sent out a vehicle inspector and then nissan issued a letter stating that because they could not find any defaulted parts they would not assist in the repairs or hospital costs. personal automotive insurance covered the incident. as far as i know, all parts have been replaced to the tune of $4,000.00 just to repair the automobile.  view

Passenger side air bags are intermitent.  view

(1)none (2)2000 ford focus w/ 55,000 miles. engine threw a rod on middle of highway, engine lost power and steering messed up. almost caused accident at 60 mph. 5 quarts of oil leaked out onto highway (3)engine had to be replaced.  view
