1990 BMW 750 User Comment / Complaint

My brakes failed while traveling down a mountain road in vermont. fortunately my husband was driving and was able to stop the car with much force. we called the lexus road emergency phone and were told to not drive the car anymore, they were aware of the brake problem and would have the car towed to a dealer. we then arranged to have the car towed to our home dealer 170 miles away - but the car took a month to repair because of a backorder on the part and we were left in vermont without a car. when we arrived home, a rental car was provided by lexus.  view

This report concerns a 1999 ford explorer sport 2dr 4x4. vehicle has 144,000 plus miles. specifically this pertains to the front driver?s seat (non-power model). over the last 5 years i have replaced the front drivers seat (bottom frame) three times. each time the seat frame has broken in the same manner. the problem is that the frame metal rips/tears at the location of the mounting bolt for the recline lever. this tearing causes the seat back to recline without warning on the left side causing the driver to fall backwards away from the steering wheel. ford has stated that they do not have any info on this. this is somewhat strange as they apparently directed dealerships approximately 2 yrs ago to replace this frame on all affected vehicles. the problem is very apparent and a very easy fix. the tearing occurs just to the front of the (front) bolt hole about 1/8 inch from the hole. there is a large spot welded plate inside the frame where the bolts for the recline lever insert into the frame. if this plate was extended about 4 inches or more past the frame holes this problem would not occur. i have detailed photos of this frame and problem area available for use to your office as well as the frame itself.  view

Car continuously pulls to the lift. this causes the car to want to turn accross the center line into the face of oncoming traffic. toyota motors and toyota service keeps staggering the tire pressure (2 1/2 pounds less on one side of the car then the other). this has me very concerned about my safety and the safety of others on the road.  view

I first started noticing that my dashboard lights werent coming on, but was unaware that my parking lights were also directly affected by this. then while traveling down the expressway another motorest continuously kept flashing his lilghts at me from behind. now it was dark so i thought that something major was wrong. i pulled over to notice that my tail lights werent on as well as my parking lights . so i took my car to a friend who works on foreign cars and he tested everything but couldnt find a problem. i am wondering if there has ever been a problem with this before, and if there is something that we over looked. if so please contact me: e_heeg@yahoo.com , thank you.  view

Saterday feb 12, 2005 was driving to visit family member about 9:30 - 10:00 am when dash board displayed "check gauges" i noticed oil gauge dropped down and engine started making noise i pulled over checked oil stick made oil in it. i called the dodge service dept i was told to bring in. that monday i brote in to dealer. i received a call saying that it was metal in the engine and the bearings was black and it needed a engine and it would cost about $5100.00. my pressure went up.  view
