1999 GENERAL MOTORS PASSENGER VEHICLE User Comment / Complaint

Just about every 6 months from when i bought the car, my 17" aluminum wheel rims corroded & oxidize enough to cause heavy flaking that breaks the seal on the tires causing air to leak out. i have come out to flat tires on at least 4 separate occasions. there is nothing wrong with the tires themselves, just the heavy corrosion on the wheels. i have the local tire place take the tires off the rims, scrape the wheels, seal & reinflate the tires just about every 9 months. i've been told chrysler knows about this problem but have never rec'd a recall notice.
