1979 GMC C SERIES(LIGHT) User Comment / Complaint

Rear disc brakes,rotors, parking brake shoes,all needed replacement at 35,000 miles. they were rusted on. to the tune of $652.00 dollors and was told this could happen again in a years time. there is a defect investigation # pe03057.  view

Acura tl type-s (2002) transmission failure at 34,500 miles. transmission failed 2-3 months after service at an authorized acura dealer which supposedly included installation of the oil kit recommended in the recall notice from hondaacura. installation of said kit was to have provided a permanent repair. notifed car was ready for pickup 1/27/05 - picked up 1/28 and drove approx. 8 miles to work - car overheated. returned to dealership 6 hours later - car overheated again with temp gauge going past the high point off the scale. told it will be re-evaluated on 1/31/05.  view

My 2002 sunny brook 5th wheel came with goodyear wrangler ht 225/75r16 "e" tires. i had my first tire separation in june 2004. damage was over $2000 to my trailer. second tire separation was sept 2004. i saw the tread separate in my side mirror and was able to get off the interstate before it went flat. no damage to the trailer that time. the third tire separation was nov 14, 2004. the tire stayed inflated, but the tread and broken belts has caused more damage to the wheel well, fender and skirting. the dot# is mk1lmmhv1202. goodyear was informed of the first tire failure within a couple of days of incident. they did not inform me of any problems or offer to replace the other 4 tires. i have filed a new complaint with goodyear, and they have offered to replace the remaining tires and pay for all damages.  view

Noted issues with my 98 jimmy (purchased 12/97)that i have had to repair which i believe were defective parts: 1) 10/00 mileage=57248 replaced faulty ignition switch due to dash board lights not working 2) not repaired to date: wipers have had occasions they did not work. i usually can get them working by turning them on/off a few times. intermittent mode takes a long time(3-10 seconds) to start running in best scenario. 3) both front reclining seat levers broke off(brittle metal rod)within first 3 years of usage. i have not replaced due to cost of replacing complete seat assemblies is only fix. 4) 12/04 mileage=129,518 throttle choke plate assembly disintegrated partially and jammed throttle open. this almost caused an accident as could not come to a complete stop while car was running. after broken piece worked its way past the valves i needed $1900 in cylinder head repairs.  view

Ignition will not turn. one minute it was working fine, and the next, the key will not turn. also, one minute my automatic locks will work, then my car totally un-programmed itself.  view

The rear plastic window became opaque and yellow, to the point where 3 years after buying the car, you could not see through it at all. this made the car dangerous to drive when the convertible top was not down, because rear visibility was only through the side mirrors. while i would consider a functional rear window to be a major safety issue, honda refused to replace it, saying my warranty did not apply to "upholstery". i attempted to clean it with various window cleaners, and while they helped restore opacity, they did not restore transparency or visibility.  view

My wife drove our 1999 ford taurus se to the store and when she went to leave the key would not fit in the ignition switch. after numerous attempts she finally got the key in but it would not turn the ignition switch. her and my kids where stranded in town close to home. but with me being deployed it could have been a lot worse. i need to know if there has been any other issues with the ignition switches going bad on this type of car. i cant see a ignition switch going bad on such a fairly new car. and the cost and hassle you have to go through to get the switch ,key and the key programmed is outrages.  view

Today vehicle experienced sudden uncontrolled acceleration due to throttle cable being pulled out of place while driving. i contacted nissan usa and they are attempting to decline repair of vehicle due to 1) age of vehicle 2) recall work previously done. unfortunately the prior recall work was performed incorrectly per nissan bulletin 94v-035 ntb -- brackets to prevent throttle cable movement are located incorrectly. vehicle requires new throttle cable and recall repair to remedy this situation. nissan usa is not acting in good faith to quickly repair this vehicle which is currently unsafe to operate.  view

Head on collision, drivers side, airbags did not deploy, three people in the car all sustained injuries, driver was transported to the hospital....damage to the car from this accident is considered a total loss.......my biggest concern is why didn't my airbags deploy?  view
