Both front low/high beam headlights failed within a week of each other. upon inspection, has been caused by failure of simple ground wire (i.e., burned off). nissan service inspector stated that it was a bad, unsafe design. changed design for 2003 because of this reason. safety issue: headlights just went out during normal travel on road. filed complaint with nissan (ref: 4773934). no action/relief by nissan. major expense to repair. nissan wanted to replace the entire headlight assembly at $350 each. requires a simple ground wire replacement.  view

Electric power steering (eps) failure...eps would fail (quit working) leaving driver to attempt to steer vehicle without any eps assist...a very difficult task and a critical safety defect that easily leads to loss of control of the vehicle. ea04018_cat  view

Make : dodge model : grand caravan year : 2000 manufacturer : daimlerchrysler corporation crash : no fire : no number of injuries: 0 odi id number : 10100418 date of failure: november 20, 2004. vin : not available component: cv joint.axle problem summary: i took my 2000 dodge grand caravan in on a friday to the dealer for the air bag recall (clockspring- which by the way the airbag really stays on now, where it did not before the dealer replaced/repaired the clockspring) and plus the dealer called me to tell me that had found a leak in the master cylinder which they wanted to fix. i said yes (now i see there are several complaints about master cylinder leaks) i picked up my van up on friday evening after work. saturday morning i ran a couple of errands around town and at 12:30 p.m. began to back out of a parking spot and heard a loud noise. i proceeded out of the parking structure and only made it as far as the street before coming to a complete stop. i called for a tow. the tow truck driver said that my wheel on the front driver's side did not appear to be completely attached to the axle. he towed it to the dealer. the service department on monday informed me that my cv joint/axle had broken. a broken axle on a 2000 that has 18,222 miles on it. how does this happen under normal driving conditions? my kids and i were lucky that i was not going fast or driving down a freeway. now i see on the news this morning that there is a recall for dakota trucks and durangos, but not caravans. what's up with that?  view

It seems that my headlights are very dim and only bright when i use my high beams. my honda seems to cut off by itself and i have taken the car to the dealership to have the battery tested and it seems not to replicate its actions for them. it seems that my car will act as if it is stalling sometimes and then will not turn over. i have had my starter checked and that is not the issue so the mechanic stated. it seems that my defroster doesn't work at the normal time that it should take to defrost. it takes at least 30 minutes to clear. i have problems in the rear seat with passengers getting out of the left passenger seat belt. it seems to get stuck. and there are no other articles in the snap to cause that. my srs and abs light seems to stay on for a couple minutes after the car is started. then while driving my car and applying breaks it seems that the car still continues to slide, it caused an accident on 9-13-04. i have taken the brakes to get checked. and the mechanic has cleared them. i am getting really frustrated with this car. and just want to know if there are any recalls that have come on my car and when will i be notified of these recalls. also what do i do in such a case that i have recalls on a number of parts and not just 1 thing?  view

The right rear trailing arm on my wife's 1999 chevrolet venture van unexpectedly broke while she was driving down the road. a search of your website revealed this to be a common safety defect associated with this vehicle. why hasn't there been a recall??? also, the seat belt light intermittently goes on and off in this vehicle. why hasn't there been a recall on this safety defect???  view

Why is the 1999 dodge dakota not included in the ball joint recall. my 1999 dodge dakota had a bad upper ball joint at less than 60,000.  view

Consumer heard a loud noise coming from the front. consumer pulled over and vehicle stalled. consumer was unable to restart vehicle. mechanic determined that motor mount bracket sheared off. this caused the engine to become loose, and lack of support.  view
