Prior to receiving a recall notice on the power steering hose. on 2 separate occasions i had my oil changed the mechanic said he topped off my power steering fliud it was a little low. when i received the recall notice i arranged to have the hose repaired (serra crysler, jeep etc). i was told by the mechanic that the hose was damaged and must be replaced. the check engine light came on after diagonistic checking i was told that the power steering switch was bad and needed replacing. this cost $68.00. my question is if the powering steering assist hose, piping & connections are bad, did that contribute to the power steering switch going bad? the manager jay jordon said that one had nothing to do with the other. so i paid for the switch & labor. could someone let me know if this is a contributing factor so others will be prepared to pay the extra cost.  view

Many new cars are being equipped with 'high intensity' headlamps (some referred to as xenon or hallogen). these are too bright! they produce a lot of glare, make it impossible to see beyond the glare where pedestrians, motorcycles or other cars may be obscured. at night, suvs or other 'raised elevation' vehicles have these bright lights directly in my rear-view and/or side mirrors, blinding me entirely. if i adjust the mirrors to prevent the light from shining into my eyes i cannot see into those areas around my car. in addition to the lamps themselves, some vehicles have lenses that focus the light into a tight beam. was this done to reduce the glare? if so, it's a failure! the intensity of this focused beam is so bright, the glare is secondary - the light hurts. this is brighter than the 'high beam' settings on most cars - and we're not allowed to drive around with those shining into peoples' eyes!  view

My 2003 nissan 350z has experienced tire/feathering on both front tires. nissan replaced both @ 17,000 miles at no charge to me. then @ 12,000 miles on 2nd set, same problem exists. nissan says they will replace, but the dealer says tires are on back-order till april 2005. they offered no "buy back", or loaner. i could not wait till april 2005, so i traded the 350z. i traded because after my warranty period was to expire @ 36,000 miles, i would have had to pay approximately $600.00 per set to replace at 10,000 to 12,000 miles. the feathering of the tires made for very little traction, especially during rainy conditions. i also took quite a hit (trade-in was $6,000 less than kelly blue book). nissan should be responsible for selling me a lemon>  view

I bought a new 2003 ford explorer eddie bauer edition in september 2003. i do a lot of highway driving and put a lot of miles on in any given month. currently the odometer reading is 60540. at about 28000 had a noise in the rear end that was repaired at no charge because of warranty, the noise reoccurred at 59000 and the dealership says it's the rear end once more but they said ford motors won't cover the repai ( $1300.00-$1500.00). i have owned a number of suv's in the past and never had this. any one else having reoccuring rear end problems with the 2003 ford explorer?  view

2004 ford explorer -the transmission has failed to engage correctly multiple times. i have asked the dealer about this issue and the response was that the explorer "has a hard transmission". in order to get the transmission to engage correctly i have to either put the cur back in park/ nuetral and attempt to reengage or give it gas. this usually results in a lurch of the car going either backwards or forwards.this situation has the potential for a serious accident.  view
