1989 BMW 535 User Comment / Complaint

2003 honda accord recall on tranmission. consumer learned of recall on the internet. recall automatic transmission second gear inspection was performed. alarm key remote no range, must be right up on car to work. front brake noise and/or judder. front brake discs were refinished and new front brake pads. tires were rotated and and rear brake service was performed.  view

While driving vehicle shut down . consumer was able to restart vehicle, and drove it to the dealer. mechanic informed consumer that the problem could not be duplicated. consumer advised the mechanic that this problem occurred more than once. mechanic determined that a lifter and pulley belt had been replaced.  view

Oil leak left front corner of front cylinder. engine had to be removed to replace the cam. resealed rear cylinder head cover.  view

Recall 04c002000 concerning britax a-lock webbing slippage. consumer was waiting for the replacement parts since august 15, 2004 for two britax marathon car seats. consumer spoke to a britax representative on three separate occasions, and on each occasion the representative informed the consumer that the part would be received within 5-10 bushiness days. and still no part has been received at this time.  view

When trying to avoid a crash at 15 mph vehicle went into a ditch. the frontal air bags deployed after the vehicle came to a complete stop. consumer suffered injuries. had the vehicle towed to dealership, who could not resolve the problem.  view

Brakes failed when depressed at 40 mph. the pedal went to the floor. this resulted in the vehicle skidding on dry pavement. consumer pumped the brake pedal and vehicle stopped an one foot short of rear ending another vehicle. engine light came on and stayed on four days prior to brake failure. vehicle will be towed to the dealership to have the brakes inspected.. wilkins buick-mazda provided consumer with one complimentary brake inspection not to exceed $200.00. dealer was unable to duplicate the brake problem.  view

Problems with side view mirrors, blow motor, electric rear door locks won't work, turn signals and paint on the hood. the gauges on the dash panel failed. the lights remained illuminated intermittently. when the right turn signal was activated the left signal flashed, sometimes both signal illuminated simultaneously. the paint on the hood and front panel began to chip.  view

Follow-up to november 20, 2003 correspondence to mr. sean haggard of bmw of north america regarding the steering wheel locking on three occasions. the vehicle was taken to the dealer on two occasion to rectify the problem. each time the vehicle was inspected no problem was found therefore the vehicle was returned to the consumer. Instrument clustering lighting. the instrument was designed in a way in which it needed to be lighted day or night. the instrument lights in the consumer vehicle started to malfunction about a year ago. they would not come in cold weather until the vehicle has been driven for at least 10 minutes. the dealer informed the consumer it was a common problem and it would cost $1000.00 to fix it. the dealer stated if the consumer did not get it fixed, eventually the lights would go out permanently.  view

Purchased rx8 04/28/04, has had check engine light on nearly whole time of ownership, after 3 trips to the dealer at 50 miles one way, were finally told that the catalytic converter was bad. had to special order so have to take the car back for the 4th time to get fixed. i don't see how a catalytic converter could be bad on a brand new car.  view
