1989 PLYMOUTH RELIANT User Comment / Complaint

(1) events leading up to the failure: ford poorly designed an intake manifold so that the coolant running through it actually eats away the plastic. (2) failure and its consequences: the intake cracked and sprayed coolant throughout the engine bay. this rendered the car undriveable. (3) what was done to correct the failure: nothing was done to correct the failure. ford has a program (97m91) wherein when the part fails(regardless of mileage), the dealership will repair it at no cost to the customer. this program stated that it was covered from 7 years of the start of the warranty of the vehicle. my intake manifold failed at 7 years and 59 days with only 23000 miles on the car.  view

I have had my xg350l for a year and i love the vehicle except for the am radio. the am radio is very poor and has a tremendous amount of feedback and buzzing. it is significantly worse around businesses with electric signs and traffic lights. it never does clear on the stations, there is always a low volume buzz or whine. the dealer installed a capacitor at 2000 miles. took it back in at 4000 miles, no better and the dealer said that it just the way am radios are. well i have had a number of vehicles and the other vehicle we own does not have this problem. the vehicle now has 5700 miles and the am radio is awful. very annoying. i can't believe that there is nothing that can be done to fix it....especially when i get in other vehicles of different make and they don't have this problem. it is an infinity sound system, but apparently that doesn't effect the am radio function.  view

While driving along, heard system warning, looked at message center display which said" power steering" and realized i had no power steering. i drove slowly in the lane that would require no changing lanes, slowed down dramatically and muscled my way through each turn in order to get home. i will take the car to the service department of the dealership in the morning. ea04018_cat  view

The "air bag" and "check engine" lights stays on all the time. both driver and rear passenger windows will not work, both must be taped up. car has had a "electrial burning" smell off and on for a year. the headlights goes bright while driving. getting less than 20 mpg gas. batteries frequently goes dead.  view

Re chevrolet safety recall for 2000 silverado trucks, defective steel tailgate support cables. when the consumer called to schedule an appointment to have the recall performed, he was told there were no parts and he would receive a call once the part(s) arrived. the consumer received another recall letter and he called the dealer again and was told the parts were still not in. )recall#04v129000)  view

My front tires were replaced on my nissan 350z after only after 18000 miles, with a realignment after nissan recommended in the bulletin release released this year. now after 33000 miles on my vehicle i am having to replace once again the front tires on my vehicle due to improper wear on the tires, the same as what happened at the 18000 mile replacement time. obviously there is something wrong with 350z front alignment. is there a class action lawsuit against nissan for defect of the front alignment, as i am not the only one this is happening to, and how to i go about joining the lawsuit?  view

Front tires started showing extensive wear and a clunck noise when turning/ accelerating at 40,000 miles. took to local tire store and they showed me that both lower ball joints and the idle-arm are bad and must be replaced. i will be having them replaced next week and getting new tires as well! parts will be available!  view

Firestone, steeltex radial tire tread separated from core explosively on our motorhome with only 28,070 miles on it. this is 1st firestone steeltex radial tire to fail on this motorhome, but it follows all seven (7) of the firestone steeltex radial tires on our last (identical) motorhome failing in exactly the same way one by one over a period of just a year or so. these tires came already on the motorhomes when we bought them new.  view
