The vehicle was kept at the dealership over the weekend to perform nhtsa recall campaign 04v021000. when the owner drove the vehicle, the engine revved high because the transmission was in over-drive. the consumer also had difficulty moving the floor shifter. the dealership stated they may have to charge the consumer for extensive repair. please describe details.

Air conditioner began blowing warm (outside air) at highway speeds. when slowing down and driving on access roads or 55mph the ac worked just fine. ailed twice more under same circumstances. lincoln svc center diangosed as possible compressor failure and ordered new compressor and new dryer for installation. do not know if old parts are available.

Left front spring broke, caused tire to blow out. repair was made by ford dealer, new spring installed. old part is not available. i was very fortunate that this happened in my driveway and not on the highway, which i travel on every day.

Recall 00v044000, rear shoulder belts failed to work properly due to being twisted and not retracting far back enough. consumer took vehicle to dealership, and mechanic failed to correct the initial problem of twisted belt. the problem still exists.

While driving consumer heard a loud popping/clicking noise coming form the front/rear. dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

While backing out vehicle suddenly accelerated uncontrollably. driver applied the brakes and pedal went to the floor. the vehicle continue to accelerate. this caused the vehicle to crash into a tree. the driver was killed on impact. an ambulance and police department arrived, and an accident report was issued.
