1985 MERCURY CAPRI User Comment / Complaint

I have had two blowouts of firestone steeltex tires, p235/75r16 on a 1998 ford econonline with a winnebago rv coach mounted on the chassis. under both circumstances, the tires were properly inflated (at 80 psi per the manufacture instructions), and in both situations the pressure was checked within hours of the failure. the vehicle has been weighed on certified scales and does not exceed tire recommended load capacities. in both situations, the tire tread sepearated from the inner core. the first tire had approximately 20,000 miles on it when it went, and the most recent one had 22,000 miles on it. there was plenty of tread life left and there were no visible signs of damage from road hazards prior to the failures.  view

Parking brake button popped off with spring as driver was trying to engage parking brake. parking brake will not engage now.  view

2003 vue awd vti 4-cyl  transmission failed at 10,229 miles, dealership repaired. transmission makes metallic rubbing noise whenever car is driven for more than 10 minuets. only happens once car is warm. dealership looked at it and said they added special fluids  view

I own a 2002 trail blazer ext. i bought it brand new and i have had many many problems with it. i finally have had it and decided to see if the internet reported any similar problems and to my amazement there are many people out there with the same problems, but here is my story. i have had to have the brake lights electrical system on both sides replaced, molding around the license plate frame repaired, oxygen sensor replaced, sway bars replaced, windshield wiper motors replaced, left side passenger window motor broke twice, gas tank replaced because it was leaking gas and now it is back in the shop once again because the engine light came on and i had the onstar system do an engine analysis and they said something is wrong with my power train. i took it to the dealership and they call to tell me the gas tank is leaking gas and needs to be replaced. i told them i just had it done in october 2003. they told me i could not drive my vehicle. i see there was a recall done on some 2002 trailblazers due to a problem like this, but they say my vehicle is not one of them. why? i am having the same problems with the gas tank. this is the second one. i am lucky i took it in or something may have happened if it is this dangerous. i would appreciate a response back. thank you, kathy yates.  view

Consumer looked at the internet and saw that there were recalls on the ford focus ignition key switch. his vehicle had one of those defective switches. the switch would not accept the key, so he had it repaired. dealer claimed he had to reassemble the lock, and that cost him $286.00.  view
