1987 DODGE ARIES User Comment / Complaint

2000 dodge dakota 78200 miles front right tire shimmied/shook at speeds from 40 mph on up. no noise or popping sounds heard. front end would jump around if a pot hole was hit going around a turn. took truck in for alignment & tire balancing. service tech found upper right ball joint was worn out. had ball joints replaced. tech removed boot from ball joint and found that no lubricant was present in the sealed boot, and that joint was loose.  view

Both front door locks failed within 1 month of each other. doors could not be opened from the outside. same small part broken on each side. had to replace the entire power lock assembly on each side.  view

Throttle stuck when component riveted to the throttle plate broke and lodged itself in the throttle body. truck was going at 60 mph. throttle was stuck at that speed, dangerous as vehicle would not slow down. had to shift to neutral, turn ignition off and pull to shoulder/exit.  view

If the vehicle was driven for 25/30 minutes and turned off and then restarted, the air bag off warning lights came on. the dealership was unable to duplicate the problem.  view

When applying brakes vehicle shakes and rattles. dealer notified.  view

Subject:airbag failure comments: twice now my son has had an accident with his 2002 mustang and the airbag did not deploy. fortunately he was not hurt. my major concern is that i had the airbag specifically tested at the repair shop at the last repair before accepting delivery of the car. i was told someone is hired by the repair shop to come out and run tests by hooking up instruments to the car and getting a read out. to the best of my knowledge this was done but my son just had his 2nd accident and his car hit a concrete barrier at better than 40 mph and the airbag still did not deploy. i have reported it to consumer service at the ford website but have not received a response. i am very concerned about my son's future use of this car and that fact that my wife owns an identical mustang of the same manufactured year of 2002. have there been any other cases where the airbag has not deployed when it was expected too and who can i contact about further action to take? very concerned, chris koss from nhtsa web site.  view

There is a major shortage in my car. the brake lights do not work right and when you brake only one side works, this had interfered with the internal lighting. something is always wrong under the hood. you spend hundreds of dollars for them to finally fix the problem after they have replaced things that didn't need to be fixed.  view

My daughter was driving my 2003 suzuki aerio with my infant grand daughter in the car and the rim snapped in 2 pieces and the whole wheel fell off and the car slip 175 feet on the rotor. when taken to the dealer for repair i was told that this was not a defect and i had to pay out of pocket for all the damages including the body work. i was without a vehicle for over 30 days no rental car and my daughter's back was injured in the accident. also the brake light keeps randomly lighting up and going out and no one seems able to figure out why.  view

Put key in ignition, turned key to start postition, radio, everything was right, then bells started going off, and error said abs fault, went to start vehicle, and error said airbag fault. car wouldnt even turn over, just a click. i have also had problems getting transmission into gear, any gear, have had it pop out of gear while driving, and there is also a grind in the front right when i turn. very unsatisfied.  view
